What is the difference between Fast Loader and UMD Emulator?
Where can I get Fast loader?
Isn't there a fastloader v8 also? Should I just get the newest one?

I didn't mean it like that...
I just typed in fast loader on google and only found links to v8. So I wasn't sure if I should get 7 or 8.

ok fastlaoder is an older version, UMD loader is the newer version, you can use any one of those to play .iso (bootleg) games on your psp. For more info why dont you use the search button on the AfterDawn forum!

Help me please. I bought a psp, and tried putting on fastloader V0.8, but when I go into the menu, it says "Corrupt data". I even tried putting an iso into the right folder to see what would happen, but nothing. These are where I stuck my files (Bold for fastloader files):
G:/psp/game
G:/umdemulator/iso/psp iso[/]
Is this right? If not, can you please tell me where I have gone wrong please. Could it be that I live in england, and have an english psp?
Please help me, I might die.

I have a 1.50 PSP, and im trying to use UMD Emulator 0.8c to load ISO's. UMD Emulator is installed correctly, but when i place a ISO into the ISO file, and run the program everything works fine until i try and run the ISO, then the program freezes after i select it. Do i have to do anything to the ISO's before i used them ? I have tried a number of ISO's with the same results. I also tried using Fastloader 0.7 and the same thing happened !!
It would make me really happy if someone could help me out on this one.
Cheers

@Gbgunner
You have to also place a UMD (any UMD even the demo UMD that came with the PSP) in the UMD Slot of the PSP in order for the loader to load ISOs
The box said "Requires Windows 98 or better", so I installed Linux !!

No problem...
UMDEmulator still needs a UMD in the drive. It makes the PSP think that the UMD in the drive is actually the ISO you are loading.
What FastLoader does is it directly loads the ISO, no UMDEmulation.
The box said "Requires Windows 98 or better", so I installed Linux !!

You can now run homebrew apps like emulators from 2.0 using the GTA eLoader that was just released, but currently there is no way to load ISOs on 2.0 firmware, still only 1.0 and 1.5. I think it will just be a matter of time though. :)

When you download an .ISO that has been compressed using WinRAR/WinZIP/etc. be sure to install WinRAR and you that to unpack it. If it unpacks to a single file with a name.ISO label, then you are done, go ahead and copy that file to the ISO folder in the ROOT directory of your PSP.
However, sometimes the author of the file just renames the .ISO to .RAR/.ZIP or some other random file extension, but actually did nothig to alter the data. In this case, whe unpacking the file, you will see folders and files (i.e. EBOOT.PBP) that were not intended to be extracted. Just try renaming the extension to .ISO and load that file in the ISO folder as explained above.
Lastly, UMDEmulator v0.8c is the best ISO loader period. Fastloader, DevHOOK, etc. are only good to have around if you are trying to run one of the very first UMD games and have problems with Load settings for flash M0/M1, boot.bin, Direct/Menu Load configurations in UMDEmulator v0.8c. Previous UMD's loaded directly into gameplay, bipassing the psp menu when returning from a softboot or reset. Newer UMD's allow the psp menu to run first if the last used options was something other than the game UMD (i.e. Music, Photo, Video). Fastloader and DevHOOK were designed around the first iteration of UMD load procedure and therefore experience problems when attempting to load the Newer ones. UMDEmulator v0.8c incorporates compatibility settings for the old as well as the new, but requires settings options to be changed in some cases.
You should make a habit of reading the files included by the Coders/Programmers before ever running the program. You cant miss the .txt doc, it will say "READ ME!!!" as the title. A quality programmer will give thourough instructions on how to install and use his/her creation. If the .txt says nothing but a shoutOUT or other useless garble, you might want to think about passing on that particular program and look for something better. Chances are they either A.) Ripped off another coder's work, altered it, then called it their own. OR B.) Hid a little BRICK'n'SUPRISE in their FAUX prog to choke your little PSP. Be Safe...

i used the same iso with fast loader and it didn't work.
now i have a NFS Most Wanted iso and i am trying to load it but when click to start the iso it says "*** Please insert any UMD! *** and when i do it says***Initializing***. Then after that the words go away then 5 seconds later the psp turns off. When it turns on it just loads the UMD.
Can any body please tell me what i am doing wrong?
