How do I play an PSP ISO on my PSP?

some help. i bought a psp slim an i install the 3.80 m-33-5 i can play cso game that i downloaded. i'm also been able to back up the umd but the problem is when i download an iso file. when is done i get it in a rar file i extract them and i get different files in it with no iso file in it I have use nero and imgburn. i read thru the the other pages and i follow the intruction in it but i'm still unable to get the iso file to play the game any idea what i'm not doing right?
any help is welcome

You kind of lost me in your message when you started talking about files being extracted. I believe you meant that when you extract the .rar files that you don't get a .iso you get a bunch of new folders and files. If this is true it is because whoever put the .iso on the internet for downlod didn't really put the .iso on the internet the put the files inside the .iso on the internet. So to fix this you must recreate the .iso using a program called UMDGen. I believe the last/latest version is 4.00. Google around and you should be able to find a guide explaining how to use UMDGen if you are unable to figure it out.

Yes this Battery/Mem.Stick combo can be done right out of the box, to virtually any PSP.

Basically the original way of creating the Pandora battery required a custom firmware PSP, so only people who already had custom firmware installed could make the batteries for other people. But then a way to create the Pandora Battery was found that allowed anybody to create the Pandora battery through modifying the battery itself. So no longer was custom firmware needed.
Firmwares that end in any type of letters 3.71 M33 or OE or HX are custom firmwares with the M33 types being widely considered the absolute best custom firwmares. And the -2 in M33-2 stands for Update 2.

First thing one should do is check to see what firmware is installed because some firmwares dont need a battery/memory stick combo to downgrade. To do this go to the far left menu option named "System", then go to "System Settings", and then go down to "System Information". It will list your firmare version there let us know that and we can tell you the best way to go about downgrading.
Thank you for all of the answers to my questions. :) Now, I know that the firmware is 3.72 and it is from the Daxter slim bundle that also comes with a 1GB PRO DUO. I have not done anything to it yet so what would be my next step?

You will need a battery to convert for Pandora use. The battery you need is the one for the original PSP not the slim.

you do not necessarily need a second battery because you hard mod after you pandora and have custom firmware plugin the psp to the ac adaptor and remove the pandora boot the psp nto the xmb use the upmsv3r3 (a cso that creates an ultimate pandoras memory stick on custom firmware) and select the option to write the sleep fix ipl this will let the psp boot in to normal mode with a pandora and if you want to load the pandora menu just hold the left trigger while turining on the psp..
***this may not work for some users some psps will not boot with out a battery after the installation of custom firmware although i have never had this problem another user reported as many a 3 in 20 have this issue.

A Pandora battery CAN be converted back if it was created through teh SOFTWARE MOD. But that requires a PSP already at a custom firmware(or 1.5) which this user doesn't have. So we are going to have to do the HARDWARE MOD which is only repairable through very precise soldering, no software hack can alter what is done in the hardware mod process.

Ok, so looking at what I have been reading I will need another battery but from the fat psp if I don't want to go inside and cut from the board and then connect it back together. Do they sell those seperate at Gamestop or some place similar?
Also, you say that the Pandora is not for everyday use. So that means it is a battery that is only used for the "service mode" and cannot be used to play anything normally?

Let me clarify. The only type of battery that can be "Pandora-ized" is the battery from the PSP Phat. Since you do not have a custom firmware PSP you WILL have to open the battery up and cut a pin to Pandora the battery. If you are good at soldering you can solder the pin you cut otherwise the battery will only be able to be used as a Pandora battery.
You could buy one of these.

Do you know of any tutorials for cutting it and then soldering it back together and what all tools I will need for it? Video tutorial or a forum with precise pictures. I appreciate all of your help.

You HAVE to buy a PSP fat battery and yes you will have to cut a pin. Quote:

This is the tutorial I linked to in oen of my prior posts. It explains how to make the battery and the magic memory stick for use with the PSP Slim. Also using the guide I just posted repairing the battery is as easy as connecting the two halves of the pin you cut with some solder.

I'm not trying to be a know it all or anything, but your information seems to be outdated a bit. The PSP Slim battery (maybe not all) CAN be Pandorized. I have a few guides at home that say how. It's a pretty "easy" thing to do though, assuming you've soldered before (or you could cut the traces or do the 'tape method')
If you go with the solder way, 'tin' the tips of the wires, and when you try to solder them to the circuits, don't touch the board, only the wire. This will melt the tin and make the solder stick... which seems safer than touching the actual board. Less risk of burning things...
Anyhow, I'm by no means an expert, but I CAN vouch for the working Slim pandora battery... though it is only compatable with SLIMS... it won't even power on a Fat.
