It is illegal to download games, therefore I doubt anyone will help you on the subject.

I have a version 1.52 PSP will the FASTLOADER or UMDEMULATOR V0.8c work on my system? I haven't found any info on the 1.52 is it the same as 1.5?

crack- You must always have a UMD disc loaded in your PSP when running UMDEmulator or Fastloader. It needs one loaded so the program can trick the PSP into thinkin the game information is coming from the disc itself, whe really its being emulated from a flash memory card.

anger- most of the torrent downloads are compressed file formats like .zip or .rar. In most cases a program named "WinRAR" can extract the original image from its compressed state, where it becomes the file format .iso. ".ISO" is and exact image copy of a CD, DVD, or in this case UMD Disc. Think of it as an ".exe" program but designed to load immediately when inserted into one of the above type media drives. The only files that will pretend to be the original disc, as well as interface with Fastloader or UMDEmulator, are those file types ending in ".ISO"

chubbyInc- No, FW1.52 is not the same as FW1.5, nor is it compatible with either UMDEmulater or Fastloader. Have no fear, however, because it is possible to downgrade your firmware to the original 1.5 version. It is not an easy task, and not for the meak hearted, but it is a rewarding and worthwhile task to research. It involves updating your FW1.52 to FW2.0 then using a program called "MPHDowngrader" to downgrade the 2.0 version firmware to the original ver. 1.5. Read the Instructions carefully and follow each step to the T. And you'll soon be loading .ISO's straight from memory as well as any Homebrew you can get your hands on. #####DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DOWNGRADE ANY FIRMWARE VERSION 2.01 OR ABOVE.... IT WILL RENDER YOUR PSP USELESS AND UNOPERABLE.... AKA: "BRICKING"#####

Good Luck

Dont worry chubbyInc, if you follow the directions the way they explain to, then you will have nothing to worry about. I've done it numerous times and have yet to have one brick on me.

Hey people i was in need of some answers that most of you have already given me by reading your posts. Which then brought me to this questions. Since trying to downgrade a fw 2.1 or higher will brick my psp and when i bought my psp it was already 2.1 and what makes this worse is that i had upgraded to 2.60, is there no way of a safe downgrade? Or could i somehow completely wipe the psp and reinstall the fw to a 1.52 or is that the same process that will brick it anyway?

HELP ME PLEASE, THANKS

unfortunatly the answer to all your questions is no.
However you can try your chances with ebay and try to buy a 1.5 off there. You only 2 choices is getting a 2.0 or a 1.5 with the latter being the best(ya dont need to downgrade a 1.5 duh)

you can try to take it back where you got it and get on with the earlier FW installed. near the barcodes on line 3 on the PSP box is a letter by itself, "A-H". if your letter is a "G" or later you have a 2.1+ PSP. "A-F" are loaded with FW 1.0 through FW 2.0. Check the box before you buy and try to get a 2.0- FW. even take it back and get one somewhere else.

this is how It looks on my psp:

Sony psp K:ISO/pinball.iso, need for speed.iso...
Sony psp K:PSP/GAME/FASTLOADER, FASTLOADER%
Sony psp K:ISOMISC/backpic,ISOSPLIT
Sony psp K:UMDEMULATOR/config,core.bin,dboot.bin,menu
Sony psp K:PSP/GAME/DEVHOOK,DEVHOOK%
Sony psp K:PSP/GAME/UMDEMULATOR, UMDEMULATOR%

I think it is correct? everytime i try loading any game besides pinball, using direct load on demulator or fastloader the screen shuts off including the psp. and i have to turn it on again. and if I use copy load I get error, The game could not be started (80010013). then when i use system load on umdemulator I get, the gane could could not be started (FFFFFED0). I have even tried using devhook on all of them, but it just shuts off. I always get errors or my psp shuts off. I have 1.5 firmware and I have the umd sampler disc for PSP vol. 1. COuld someone please help me, I am in desperate need of help!! I have looked at dozens of forums, but none have helped! Also what ISO's work for you. could you please tell me what torrent site/download site you got them from and include name of torrent. also could someone tell me the best settings for umdemulator and fastloader that works best for games. thanks a lot and please HELP!

I recently got a version 2.01 PSP. I'd like to back up my legitimately bought games to Memorystick, I understand that there isn't a downgrader yet or the ability to play iso's under 2.01.
I did receive a demo disk with ver 2.00 on it (obviously the PSP said that this wasn't needed). Surely someone in the world knows how to crack the 2.01 code to allow either a downgrader to 2.00 or lower or to be able to create an ISO loader.

I have firmware version 2.50 and I have put the umdemulater on the psp and put an iso on it aswell, The directories are like this:

+MP_ROOT
|+PSP
||
|+GAME
||
|+UMDEMULATER
||+EBOOT.PBP
|+UMDENULATER%
||+EBOOT.PBP
|
|
|+ISO
||+(THE ISO FILE I AM TRYING TO RUN)

If this is right then please can you explain why it doesnt work, if it is wrong then can you please explain how to get it to work

WHOOPA,

homebrew doesnt work on firmware 2.0 or above, thats why sony put the upgrade on the psps below 2.0 so you cant homebrew.
and as of yet there is no way of downgrading, ive got exactly the same problem, but you cant downgrade because it will brick the psp.
sorry!

but dont worry im sure a downgrader will be released on the web soon!
I f****** hope so!!!

THANKS FOR EVERYONES HELP & SUGGESTIONS

fastloader and umdemulator both need a working umd in the drive to work. i think the demo disk will suffice. They make the PSP think the ISO is the inserted UMD. your directory structure looks sound so write back if that helps.

downloaded games should already be in .ISO format. just put them in the ms0:\ISO\ directory with fastloader installed and a UMD in the drive and start up Fastloader. some 2.0 plus .ISOs will not run (GTA:LSC (although this has just been bypassed today see http://mphwebsite.tuxfamily.org/))
