Hey!! Its official now the Xbox 360 will come out for the holiday season and the basic kit witch is only the console and the controller is only $299 which is very cheap considering the original Xbox was almost $400 when it came out. The better deal though is in the $399 Xbox360 witch has all the stuff you'll want too buy anyway. It comes with the console, a 20 gig hard drive, a universal remote, a wireless controller(note basic version has wired controller), a wireless USB headset, ethernet cable, and high-definition AV cables both versions have an Xbox live silver subscription which is free. You'd be a complete idiot or really cheap to by the basic system considering the 20 gig hard drive seperate is already $100.Microsoft will also have other extras like a wireless ethernet adapter for sale.

The Blue ray uses a blue laser instead of the dvd's red laser (witch the 360 still uses) but the blue ray disc is the most impressive which can hold more than 50 gigs of data compared to 360's dual layer dvd which can only hold about 18 gigs that means longer games and more features for the PS3. But the blue ray is still compatible with dvd and the quality is still High-definition no matter what.

It's so funny to see someone come up with this thread again. It's doing the exact same thing the old one did, people are flaming and probally going to get banned...
The Xbox 360's basic version is $300, the one that includes the HDD is $400. This is such a slap in the face, everyone was all against the PS3 for not including it, now MS won't either, they'll just offer you one bundled with a bunch of accessories and say they are "included it".
The huge argument for the 360 was that with an included drive, drive caching would be a default procedure for programmers. Now it's in the exact same spot as the PS3, except instead of powerful hardware for $400 like PS3, they are just going to throw in a bunch of accesories.

Bend over everyone, Microsoft is back to their old self.

Last time I looked and compared the 2, on basics of hardware I personally chose the PS3, but things has changed, blablabla
so I keep it to this, I wil just lay my trust on Sony, Im not going to be extreme pro Sono or what ever, trying to sell the PS3 to someone else as many here trys ^^. I have seen the discussions, checked the lists, and Im going for the PS3, just like the different range of games, gfx doesnt mather to me a bit, I prefer a great gameplay, good storyline, agreeable gfx, long range of options, and weapons. Normally I had Nintendo products, simply because of the games, nothing more, nothing less, cause, you can have and/or put in everything you want, but in the end, it comes down on simply playing games, Im not going to put a console in my room for the show, or hang it on the wall, just PLAY ^^

oke ill settle this now.
the 360 has 3, 3.2 ghz prosesors that make up for 1 terra flop.
the ps3 has got 1 cell chip that exists of 8 cores all aqctive running at 2 teraflops but there alr always 7 running so itll be 1.8 terraflops.
so ps3 is 2 as fast as 360 but the 360 is 2 as powerfull it has a larger l2 cache and more mb ram
that make up fore eachother
so in preformance they are the same.
about the graphics ... its not siure but sony says that the ps3 is powerfull and fast enough to use 3 gforce 6800
so wat the xbox on the E3 was empty and the games were running on 4 to 5 gforce 6800 and the graphics were still not that great becouse the 360 is made for better.
but that is something we all will see.
and something else ill buye them all.
some usefull info.
360 has got about 200 titles wayting for the release date.
ps3 has got over 15.000!!!.
yes fifteen thousend!!!
oke end of the info:P
ps3 is more made for single player and 360 for multiplayer you can see.
but so far we still agree that the 3601 and ps3 are the seme in the specs but now there is something that i myself ditnot beleve at first.
the thing that makes the 360 better than ps3!
tha online service
ps3 has a memory bantwith of 26.5 gb a second! :P LOL
and the 360 has .. oke hold your breath ....256gigs a second!!!!!!!!
i couldnt beleve it myself so i emaild all the sites and called to microsoft and got the head of the 360 development department and he confirmed all the numbers one by one i quote "yes the numbers are 2, 5, 6, and not 2, 5, dot 6"
"so it is twohundred and fifty six gb a second"
oke now i must apolagise for my englich becouse i typed this really fast and diddnt fell for a chekup :P
lol but no matter wat hapens im gonna buye 360, ps3, and the revolution.
p.s.
the revolution is taken back to the drawing board becouse the console was not hd compattable and the other 2 were so now revolution is hd to :P

The PS3's GPU is capable of 1.8 TFLOPS. The XBox 360's overall performance, both GPU and CPU, is 1 teraflop. The PS3 is 2 TFLOPS overall.
The PS3's SPEs, seven operation, each has their own 256KB LS (load store, or cache, relative to an L2 cache. They both have 512MB of RAM, lukily the PS3 has 256MB of the 3.2GHz XDR RAM, and the Xbox 360 is all 700MHz.
The XBox has a single CPU, three cores. The fact that it all operates in a single socket on one die sharing the FBS is much different than multiple CPU's.
SO much of your information, all of you, is misconstrued. Almost every in these forums argument is anecdotal.

I missed that. The 256 GB/s overall system bandwidth is firely propanganda. This measure includes the EDRAM which is around this figure and blazing fast.
The fact is, is that there is 10MB of it and it is on a daughterboard of the ATI GPU. The EDRAM is that fast, but the bandwith between the daughter board and main board of the GPU is some ~32 GB/s.
This is a significant bottle neck that leaves that figure total BS.

What a kill joy you are!!!
Hey Pippa, don't mean to be a killjoy. I was exactly the same years ago. I guess when you get a bit older you can just sit back and think "Who cares which is better, just get both!". But you're right, I remember having arguments and the great decision between 3do or Jaguar......and they both sucked anyway but at the time 3do had Need for Speed and Road Rash so it ruled! Heck i bought a Snes the day it came out and then wish I bought a Megadrive. Well enjoy the thread.......and in true spirit of the thread...PS3 will be better, oh wait no Xbox 360.....!!! Jus' kidding. :oP Oh and as for the car park comment can I say at this point I was in the Royal Marines for 10 years? ;oD

There is no need to post everything twice :D
But the PS3 price wont be 265, I say above the 500 already, cause if the Price would be 265, I wouldnt expect to get incredible quality for that price, Im better off buying 2 PS2's. The PS3 is going to be expensiver then the Xbox360 when its coming out, since the Xbox360 is going to be released sooner, the price of it wil be lowered during the time.
And if the PS3 has a line-up of 15 000 games, as someone mentioned before, that would mean Sony could easaly release 1 or 2 games a week, and keep that up for more then 10 years,
On first, that is great, more games, more fun, more options, but for Sony self it wouldnt pay of more I think, since every consumer has a budget, and wont buy everything, or wont be able to buy everything, but if they let the suplys of games last for 30 years, new products, from Microsoft, Nintendo, or even their own wil automaticly make the wild stock of games useless and a waste of money.
But I think/hope they have a plan for this

PS3 is looking at $400 base price, 1 version, silver. Black and white may have been dropped.
The Xbox 360 is confirmed to come in a $300 package and $400 package.
The PS3 is a $400 piece of hardware, the Xbox 360 is $300 worth of hardware (retail price anyway, they are actually losing money). But to make the 360 look like it's a as good console they will throw in a bunch of accessories to make a $400 version too.

In my opinion both of these consoles look pretty good But I dont care how powerful the ps3 is because I mostly prefer xbox360.(well actualy you know what?...I should get both)
It seems to me that in some areas Ps3 is stronger and in others xbox 360 is stronger but both of these systems make up for their weaknesses like xbox 360 has 256gigs and the Ps3 has more terraflop power. And even if Ps3 does have better graphics I wouldnt count xbox 360 out of this fight just jet.
Peace out!
