If you have the real game, then I don't see why you would need to download it. Anyways, you would need an iso (not the real disc) to apply the patch and extract the second layer. As for Sonix media patcher, just google for it.

I really don't understand what you're asking, but if you can't find the program, then just use the Toxic Dual Layer Patch. It should do the same thing.

It says that it's not a dual layer because you've already patched the file. Anyways, I'll be hosting the apps that you need to patch this game, since it's become difficult to find even for myself. Just start over and follow what I said before with these apps.

I downloaded the iso of this game and it's size was 7.71 GB. I rebuild the iso and patched those two files mentioned and the iso file created was of 3.77 GB. I burnt it to a DVD and still it crashed after the FMV of the protowing.
This is the method I used:
I opened the iso with Isobuster and extracted the ISO part not the UDF. I patched SLUS_209.37 and IOPRP280.IMG.Then I used CD/DVD Gen and exported the IML file. Then I rebuilt the ISO with Gnie's IML2ISO and burnt in on DVD using Nero.
The game loads and works but crashes after the FMW of the protowing.
Any ideas what I am doing wrong? And if I burn it to a dual layer DVD will it still crash? Thanks!

Did you follow the patching steps in order?

Yes I did. I first patched SLUS_209.37 usind DVD Scan Lite and then I patched IOPR280.IMG with CMP followed by scan lite again. Do you know if I burn it on DVD-DL if it still hangs after the FMV? I do not have a dual layer at my disposal at the moment so I have to wait for tomorrow to buy one.

If you're going to use a DL, then don't patch the files. I believe the patches are supposed to allow the files from the second layer to be read on the first layer. If you burn it on a DL with the files patched, the PS2 would try to access the second layer's files on the first layer, rather than on the second layer, thus causing the game to possibly hang. BTW, are you using a modchip, HDL, or Swap Magic?

I am using the myth chip. If I burn it on DL I will burn it from the original ISO (unpatched) but I don't know if it will not hang after the FMV because it will be still pirated. I have the slim PS2. Do you know if it will still hangs if I burn it on DL?

Myth chip is a clone of Matrix Infinity, so it might work, but I really don't know. As long as the chip supports DVD9, it should work. If you want to buy cheap DVD9's, Office Max is selling Verbatim 3-packs for $5. I just bought some at the store yesterday. I'm not sure if they're the same price online though.

I burnt it on DL but the ps2 is not reading it so I guess it does not support DVD-9. Well I guess I cannot continue playing it :( thanks for your help anyway!

Try to download the rebuilt version and patch it. To read DVD9, you could try to flash your chip with Matrix Infinity firmware, but I don't recommend that though, since it could fry your chip.

I am not messing around with the chip, I want to avoid expenses hehe just in case something goes wrong. I asked somewhere else to see if anyone has the rebuilt version that works properly. Do you know where I can get that easily?

I don't know where you would get it easily, but you could always try torrents.

I'm not a big fan of torrents. I'll see what I can find maybe I manage to continue the game because I really like it! Thanks a lot for your help ;)

Hi Random, you know, the other day i was with a friend trying to follow your advices with the whole process about wild arms problem. The thing that my friend ( the person who makes this kind of stuff) have been successful in re- making this game, the thing is... he is re- making the game this time for me, but we don`t know why at first the apache 3 that you send me extractd the files that we needed, but he couldn`t re- introduce it again to re- build the game, because the program showed an error message. That wasn`t the problem, the problem was that my friend used another program to re- insert the files ( i think was sonic media patcher) and when he was about to patch the files, showed once again an error message. my question is: we`re doing something wrong? is there a possibility for you to pass me the files already patched? or we`re trying with the wrong programs?

i hope to be answer soon, i´m desperate, i really wants to have this game without any problems!. =)

thanks in advance!!

What exactly is the problem that you're getting, and what does the error say? I don't have enough information to help you. You might want to consult other rebuilding faqs on these forums if this is your first time rebuilding a game. Also, I won't pass the files on because it's illegal to do so and I don't think that's allowed on these forums.

What you can do is extract SLUS_209.37 and IOPRP280.IMG from a fresh ISO or the actual disc, and then patch them. Open up a rebuilt (and unpatched) ISO with Apache and right-click on SLUS_209.37. Next, Click "Update Selected File" and choose your patched SLUS_209.37 file. This will replace the original SLUS_209.37 file in your ISO with the one you that you've patched. Repeat this step with IOPRP280.IMG and your done. This assumes that you already have a rebuilt ISO but just haven't patched it yet.

Hello everyone, I am having a problem backing up this game. I patching the files on the ISO game runs past the protowing problem. THe problem in my backup is that it loads really slow, sometimes the audio does not load and half of the wolrd map dosen´t load either.
Can anyone help me solve this problem?

HI,
I used a MK TECH DVD-R and burned it at speed 4x using a trial version of Alcohol 120%. I didn´t get rid of any dummy file because I used a downloaded ISO and I thought that had already been done. The ISO still contains two DUMMY.PSS. One inside PSS0 and the other one inside PSS1. The size of both files is 1,54Mb. Could those files be the problem? If so, what should I do to get rid of them?
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP GOOD LUCK
