*EDITED: creaky you're faster than me, buddy.
So your current firmware is USOS, go here http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1792 download it to update the firmware if yours don't have the latest.
Basically, you just click on USOS and it will automatically download, once you're done, click on the zip file to run (it will runs pretty quick). *NOTE: make sure you don't have any CD or DVD inside your dvd burner when you perform the updating process.

Thanks for helping again but do you have any idea why this aint working read below,
"Hi,
Ok i used cloneCD to copy my compact original PS2 disc into a cdr via cue file. The cd is called DataWrite, and its manufactured by Datasafe media, I then put the copyed cdr ps2 game on my computer to see if i had the same files as the orginal one and i did. Then i used swap magic and the slidetool. I inserted the 'COMPACT DISC' in it, choosed PAL, then load program, then i had to choose PAL then load prgram again i dont know why. Then i used the slide tool to eject the tray, and pulled it all the out, it then made a funny noise, like a booting noise (ie quiet then loud, quiet then loud). I swoped the discs with my Backup, i used the slidetool to completly shut the tray, then the noise stopped and every single time i click on the disc it says 'please insert a ps2 or ps2 1 format disc' why does it say that is it because,
I have to use me software (not just cloneCD)
Media is very low cant read at all
Burning speed, i used 4x
Help me please, FOR BEST QUALITY BACK UPS IS PHILIPS BETTER THAN MAXELL DVD-R?

I don't use SlideCard, so I can't really tell you what happened. However, for buring PS2 CD games, I used Nero Express and Nero Burning Rom, for PS2 DVD games, I used Nero Express, Nero Burning Rom and DVD Decrypter (for the MDS file). I've never used CloneCD before so I can't comment on that either. Why don't you try Nero Express, it's as simple as burning CD-R (audio music).
Do you have Swap Magic? What version is it? According to my knowledge, if it's a CD backup game(s), then use the Swap Magic CD to boot, if it's a DVD backup game(s), then use the Swap Magic DVD disc to boot.
Here's the process of booting:

I have swap magic 3.6
I use the methodu told be above but it dont work i will try using ur method for backing up cd games, the thing is i hope it is to do with this
i use 80 min 52x silvcer premium cdr datawrite manufactured by datasafe ltd that is everything on the cd what it says that cd do u know if it will work for backup cd based ps2 games because it didnt work when i used clone cd which i wont use no more
Thanks for help and also alkhol i thought u use the guide of DVD dycyter to iso buster to make an iso image for dvd ps2 backups .

Oh no i broke my ps2 qith the slide card by accident, oh god, i want to buy another one, is the slimp ps2 ok with swap magic 3.6 and slide tool wait a min do u need a slide tool to back up please help me, thank u

liteonSO go to www.writely.com and use the spelling and grammer check to make it easier to read...
you can't be serious also...
You Don't use the slidecard with a slim ps2 >.< only the big fat ones.
Technically, you don't backup with the slidecard you just trick the ps2 of thinking whether or not its ps2 dvd or a ps2 cd. Hence the two copies of swap magic.

Is Nero StartSmart the same as Nero express or is totally different, because i am trying to use your method Alkohol and when i try and look for Nero burning rom and Nero express i only can see Nero StartSmart is that ok, or do you know where i can download Nero express and Nero burning rom, because the only Nero i have is Nero StartSmart.

Last question,
I have 2 DVD+RW Drives i am unable to find firmware for my maste, and i manage to find firmware for my slave, when i burn a iso image does it matter if i use slave because that drive is updated by firmware and master is not because i cant find it anywhere on the firmware page

Yes i think ive got Nero burning rom now, do u have to pay for Nero burning rom its telling to enter a serial number. Has n e one got it who hasn't paid? I have

hwo comes i cannot boot dvd swap magic on my computer compact disc is ok, and it says crazy-taxi strange??
Everytime i insert swap magic dvd disc the drive just loads for ages that aint suppose to happen innit.
Why is swap magic compact disc says crazy taxi, could a copy of swap magic discs if i can can u tell me please, cos i tried to using swap magic disc compact using alchol 120% and it says dumping disc 3% mean while it says disc read error at ....892
disc read error at ....etc
disc read error at....etc
any way to make backups

I made an ISO image using Alkhols guide, that successfully worked, but someone please tell if i used swap magic dvd disc, choosed normal then normal boot use slide tool to eject swope discs with backup
the backup disc is called datawrite manufactured by datasafe ltd, i know that media is crap but please tell me what happens when i do swope the discs with that crap media inside completely closed the tray then press x on my joypad please what should it say mine says please insert a ps2 ps1 format disc is it suppose to say invalid ps2 disk, the only reason i am saying this is because i want to know if i am setting swape magic and slide tool correctly??? please help???

what exactly are you having problems with?....booting cd based backups?
are you using the swapmagic cd disk,and not the dvd disk by mistake?
can you boot dvd based games ok?
those disks are ok,(ish)
first off,i recommend you get some of these disk's (dvd)
from here

Hi,
ok fanks, , the problems i am having with cd based are, -----

wait until the screen comes up choose normal or sometimes PAL,
then sometime normal boot or sometimes special boot
then swope the discs using slide tool it makes a strange noise
swope the cds with my backup completely close the tray it makes another wierd noise press x and it says please insert a ps2 ps1 format disc why does it say that,
Is it suppose to say that even if i am using the wrong media?
i am using datawrite manufactured by datasafe ltd
Can u please fine out and see if that media is not good or not, because when i try and boot the backup i dont know why its saying 'please insert a ps2, ps2 format disc' Thanks for helping

you got 2 anwsers....
1)you are not using the swapmagic disk's properly
2)or the ps2 you have doesnt read the disk's you have (more likely option)
so.....
1)what speed did you burn the game at?,and with what app'?
2)get some more disk's
