This guide was amazing! Thanks alot mate. I've been having trouble with all my backups as they were on +R and made a racket in my PS2. My drive only supported +R/RW. Until I crossflashed it :p from Lite-On SOHW-822S to Lite-On SOHW-832S which supports every media you can get!

Hi
I hope someone can help I am trying to burn an ISo file to disc, when I do at 2.4x it completes all okay but when I try to boot using Swapmagic 3.6 It does the usual load program bit then when I press x instead of loading as it has with other games it just says"insert playstation disc" what am I doing wrong I have tried reading through all the great guides but I am still unsure what I am doing wrong. I am using DVD Decrypter to burn an ISo of justice league heroes to a Maxell DVD+RW disc, do I need to try 1x instead or another type /brand of disc?????AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Someone please help before the ps2 ends up six feet under!!!!!!!!!!!

hi, I'm trying to backup this game called "bully" and apparently when I burn it with imgburn its max write rate is 1x (even though I set it to 4x) and it lags my whole comp. When I try it on my PS2, the disk couldn't even be detected... what's wrong?

I followed this guide and just like poopoo when I try to change the ASPI on Decrypter it says no devices detected. It also says invalid ASPI instalation detected. I put it back to SPTI-microsoft and it detects my NEC ND 3500AG. But I can't rip MLB 06 the show. It gets to 52% and stops every time. I also have a problem with NEC firmware flash utility. I downloaded the latest 2.58 update for my NEC ND-3500AG and when I click on the flash it says target NEC-3500A is not found corectly. I went to the dangerous brothers link and downloaded a zip 2.58 with more files. I extracted them into a folder and when I click to run it a DOS window appears and then goes away. The one from the d b's looks like a DOS window not the burner with the yellow lightning bolt. The 1st 2.58 does have the lightning bolt but its not in a rar file. Can some one help please?

Im new to this so If what I say is off by a bit more seasoned people please correct me. But I dont think your playstation can read +RW's get some good Taiyo Yudens or Verbatims from a website or a trusted store that you know sells the real things (If you wanna know what the real things are look in one of the stickied guides) Id also suggest using DVD Decrypter to burn the games and a Higher write speed around 8x-12x. From what ive read the guides that tell you to write as slow as possible are terribly outdated. Hope this helps mate,Cheers

If you have good media (TY or Verbs) and a modern burner you should be able to burn DVDs at their rated speed. I usually buy 8X DVDs and burn them at 8X and my quality scans are better than slow speed burns. Also, just as Narusuke said, dont use RWs. Use good quality +Rs if you can booktype to -ROM or use -Rs if you can't booktype.

Problem! When I play my burned games on my ps2, the screen is off by about 2 inches on the top and left of the screen. Is there any way to fix that; and principaly, why does it do that?

I have my own unique experiences. I have some 16x labeled discs, but I guess with my burner I can only burn these at 4x, 6x, or 8x. Anyway, there have been games where I burn at 4x and they work flawlessly. Then there are some games that I burn at 4x, but the videos are skippy. I reburn these at 8x and then it works fine.

There has been one instance (Prince of Persia: sands of time), where burning at 4x or 8x still makes it a skippy videos. I don't know what the deal is with that, and I don't want to waste any more dvds so whatever, I can live with the skipping.

loll... yeah there's maybe 80% of chances that your problem is the media you're using. Try using some Verbatim, there the best on the market and i don't burn games without them other media will just use up the laser in your ps2 and eventualy break it! If this doesn't solve the problem then it might be because of the resolution of your tv try changing the settings in the ps2 menu and see what that gives you... but yeah... try changing media first; office depot and memorex medias are REALLY bad!!!

I have recently copied 4 games manually to my computer via file copying directly off the CD and need to know how to convert the files in question into a .ISO image to use in the PCSX2 Emulator. I try to mount the .IMG file with Daemon Tools but it continues to either read itas an AUDIO DISC or says please insert ps2 dvd etc. How do I turn the bunch of files I copied off the disc into a .ISO image? The games are NEW and perfectly working but even PCSX2 won't read Xenosaga DVD from the DVD-Rom I have directly for some reason not will it boot Devil May Cry 1 or .Hack//G.U. Volume 1 or POTC At Worlds End. Please help me figure out how to change the files into a .Iso. I tried to copy with NERO 7 but it couldnt make a valid NRg or IMG or ISO file with the Image Recorder.

All guides/instructions on computer settings. Are for a computer running windowsXP only?. You may have to adjust, find another way with a different operating system

Questions

1. Do you have the right equipment for playing/burning back-up games?
2. Are the discs you are using good quality?
3. Are you using the recording program correctly?
4. Have you got the settings correct on your computer and programs?

Answers

1. I recommend that you have AT MINIMUM a computer with a 1Ghz processor, 512MB Ram and a 4x dvd writer for making your game backups. In order to play the backups you will need to have either:
a) A modchip

I have a PS2 SLIM (SCPH-77004), PAL and i've heard that i don't need modchip to play backed-up games... I'm a bit n00b... i have PS2 from "Santa Claus"... I tried to make a CD with a ps2 game in alcohol 120%, but it didn't work and i think i made it wrong. I've downloaded DVD Decrypter but i don't want to burn a lot of wrong disks. I use verbatim CD-R.. Someone told me that the CDs broke the optical block of the PS2. Who can help me please post

Any idea of a alternate location for the file? The link is no longer valid, and I dont find anything legitimate when searching google.
