I am pretty sure you are correct Ty. If I remember correctly, the standard controller is sold seperately.

Thats what i just said, just not worded the same. When I said standard controller, I meant a normal D-pad.

oh.. .Hey it would be cool if it came with that analog gamepad to though.I kinda think it looks cheap but it would be a great alternative for those who are put off by the wiimote.

I think it should come with both unless every single game coming on the wii is going to use the mote. I wouldnt want to go out and buy a controller just to play normal games like streetfighter or madden or something that is better using normal controllers. Then i would have to go out and buy like 3 or 4 controllers just to play with some homies??? That would be gay.

I wish that it would come with everything too.

Madden 07 is using the Wiimote. Capcom has yet to announce a street fighter game coming to the Wii, but I do know that a dragonball z fighting game is using the wiimote. Like I said I havn't tried it out, but as of now I would prefer a regular controller for a fighting game.

Wait what? Yuu have to buy multiple controllers to play with multiple players no matter what. You don't see Sony packing in 7 bluetooth controllers in their ps3 packages do you?
As I said earlier, the classic controller is for the virtual console. The only game I know of that isn't using the Wiimote is Super Smash Bros Brawl, which can be played with GCN controllers.

I still think it should come with both. So at least ppl can bring over their controllers or something instead of everyone goin out to buy one. Well i guess people would have to... Nintendo would make more money. Cuz ppl then wouldnt have a choice if the standard controller is a must have. Unless GC controllers could still be used. But then again not everyone has a GC.

i can affirm one thing and its that im not buying a wii untill i know alot more about it and see how it developes.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

Thats true, at least with the ps3 you can still get a nice chunk of change if you decide you dont like it.

apparently the wii completely supports GC controllers which i had not confirmed, but as i would have figured with it supporting GC games. this classic controller will not sell espreamly well if thats the case. id buy a GC controller just to not use the wii-mote. if they GC controller will not be conpatable with the wii's games, it will force you to buy the classic controller.

The GCN controller support has been confirmed for some time now. the final secret was the sd card slot.
Makes me feel like you don't even listen to me, anubis. :'(
Edit**
however, i don't think Games using the wiimote will work with any other controller. AKA, you can't play the Wii version of zelda with gamecube controllers. Only the Gamecube version of zelda will work with gamecube controllers.

Maybe Okami will get ported to the wii so the paint brush action would actually be cool. Or use the mote to tag up some shiz for marc eckos gettin up. I would like to see the mote be more useful than just to shoot guns and swing swords. I wanna be able to virtually brush my teeth. Unless cool innovative games like that are gonna come out then there wont be anything new about the mote at all.

The reason it is compatible with gcn controllers is because it's backwards compatible with gcn games and that's what they used.
But what I really want to know is can you play the gcn games with the wiimote .Lol nope but I never heard it discussed before so figured I would mention it..

hey I just thought of something. What if you could download a driver that would make wiimote compatible with old gcn games.
Or perhaps instead of a hardware driver maybe a patch for the game itself. With that in mind it does seem more possible and may bring some new life into old gamecube games.

Well I dunno lol.
But the hardware driver will enable it than the game patch would work with the driver.A great example would be pc gfx card's working with the drivers to produce what you looking at right now on your screen!
The thing is, is that the companies arn't going to want to spend the money to update the old games to be compatible but nintendo itself might.

maybe, but only game by game as which would be desired. it would be pointless and needless tho.

I dunno bro the old mario cart with the wiimote would be sweet because you could just use the mote's sensor to control the side to side motion and the button to throttle.I would be pointless for most games tho I have to admit.
But hey It was something that was never discussed so what the hell.

its nothing but simple pictures overing and u can interact with the motion sensor for w/e needs to be done. i think its very lame and very cheap of them. i dont wanna get up and move around to play my games. i wanna lay back, relax, get high, and play.
