this is incorrect, there is already a way to rip ISO's of wii games, using an hitachi DVD drive

Ok guys, guess what; you're right!
We already have a new backup softmod for the Wii, and it's called WiiBoot Loader! That's right, it exist, but won't be released until New Years Day! That's right 1-1-07
Here's how it's gonna work:
You make the back up of the game on a DVD-R. Using our specially made software, you put it on an SD Memory card. Then, you put the copied disk in the Wii. Now you have our SD Memory Card data. So, you open the photo channel, and view your files. It LOOKS like a photo, but when you open it, it takes you straight back to the Wii Menu, where "WHAT?!?!?!" The game is now recognized by the system!

Or we already have a new mod-chip called the Pulse VU that mods the Blue Disk light!
Don't forget, we've used packet sniffers on the Nintendo network; and guess what we found? SCRIPTS! So, now we can download all the games we want for the Virtual Console, for free! However, it may be a while, if ever, before this one goes public.

Why are you guys going to realse it on New years? When do we need to expect it to drop? At 12:00 midnight new years day or later on that day? Why wait so long? How long have you known about it?

yeh this has already been discussed in previous threads - it is most likely that it is fake
if you watch the video he zooms in (which is where i believe, someone switches the backed up disk for the original)
but untill tomorrow no one can be 100% although its highly likely its fake

@ebay - It's being released New Years because we want it to be a New Years gift (that and because we just didn't have it ready by Christmas). There's no specific "time" we have planned for it; it's just going to be on 1-1-07 so I guess whenever websites get the order information, so prolly not until 1-2-07.
We've waited so long because of stock; and I've known about it for about 2-3 months now.
@RavenLife - It is true that there were some actual "mod-chips" sold that were fake; however, this is less considered a "mod" chip. To create a mod-chip is difficult; but to create a chip that simple re-routs the bass signals to electric pulses was simple. But rest assured, after it is released, I guess you'll know if it's fake or not.

well seems as that info didnt relate in anyway to what i actually said - i still dont believe it and seems that it is 1 day before new year - i gues i only have 22 hours to wait...

I was only stating that there is reasonable belief that it would be fake because of a past experience.

I was only trying to say that it is more believable that it exist much rather than an actual modchip because of the fact that it is easier to create. But once again, guess we'll see tomorrow.

this is all crap people may think they have got backups, but i bet even if there was a way to load them they would not work, remember how the POT had to be ajusted on the gc?
All you lieing barks forgot about that.
I'll wait until 12 tonight and i bet i will never see this pointless softloader, yes the reason i say pointless is because, if nintendo thought it was real they would have patched it.
Also i think all these early backups wont work, i think that backup program just dumps files in any old order i bet the data is scrambled.
When the time comes prove me wrong, but until then ur all lieing barks.
I bet the only thing to come out tonight is a nasty computer virus.

Well, it's only a BETA testing product; but what's the complaint if it's free? I myself would have no need for backups.
It has been told that by June, Nintendo is creating the ultimate patch; which will destroy this possibility.
Just stay tuned to download it and see if you wish; or just wait until others post what happens.

The reason you would download the patch is for cool new features! That, and it's been said that it will be an auto-patch; thus meaning if you have Connect24 turned on, it'll be downloaded automatically.
And yes, I am involved in the making of it; why do you ask?

What if they include the update in some of the games?
sorry about my post before I didn?t mean everyone is a lyre, just these people who think that they have done all this, I know that Its going to happen but if it is what?s the point in a softmod if your going to do something do it properly and make a hardmod.
This all seems so pointless, and those that have linked there accounts should not do this as there going to take your privileges away from you.

@RavenLife - You may be a senior member, but flaming is an offense here on afterdawn.
I never said I made the mod; I simply contributed. I am not the distributer, which is why I don't know how long it will take.
@ebay - It will work with the commonly sold 1GB Wii SD Memory Card.
@Cloudkill- You bring up a good point about the game patch. They most likely will do that. Also, we could make a hardmod, but let's face it; how many people want to take apart their Wii? About the linked accounts, you're right; this is a risk that will be chosen by the users.
Finally, I would just like to say; this mod is a trial period mod. We are not sure how long it will be before Nintendo fixes everything!
Oh, and RavenLife; I would watch what you say, the Admins are watching...
