hursty, I downloaded your rip from bit-soup *cough* and it locks everytime right on the forbidden siren 2 screen. I can't complain, I tried myself once so far and didn't even get the select language screen myself. I'm sure it's not my media and setup. I'm going to try again myself and see what may happen.
Oh yeah, 74% downsample came out to 4.20GB but it didn't work anyway (black screen, no laser movement at all lol)

It's getting to the point to where I may just wait for the US version, never did really care for the first game but wanted this one because it was a DVD9 and had to be ripped. One more try I guess.

I tried Zoneloader, and it lets you start a game, but as soon as the "daddy, you're a " screen, it locks up. Weird, but I'll soon be done with my 70% downsample rate version and I'll keep you guys posted. I figured out why my other one didn't work. Apparently, Apache 2 extracted all the files from both layers but the Modules folder became a file.

well it must be something to do with swapmagic
cause i tested this game, and have gone through quite a few missions

what about cd loader?

btw,i just used apache 2 to extract the 2nd layer only,i used ultraiso for layer0 (apache is just to slow!),not that it makes any difference tho.

also,if anyone wants the tools for this rip,i have uploaded them on solops2, in the user uploads section.
saves you searching for them

It must be swap magic. My iso file came out at 4.15 GB with a 70% downsample rate and gets stuck the same spot yours does for me, "daddy are you a treasure hunter" scene. Oh well, I'm tired of messing with it now. I'll wait for the US release. Thanks though.

Thats good man, I know I did everything right, I'm sure hursty did as well. I tried it on different media Verbatim 8x DVD+R and the same Sony media I always use and same result. The US version will come out one day perhaps and then I'll get it, unlikely I'll ever have the time to play it though with a newborn coming home from the hospital tomorrow and my 3 yr old's infactuation with Flatout 2 :)

Hursty, did you try to convert it to NTSC? I did that on mine, but it was another rip on blackcats-games.net. it Freezes at the exact same spots everone is saying here...playing on PAL, it works fine...

Ha, thats probably what I did too. I know I patched it to NTSC but the Yfix wouldn't work. Maybe I'll have to force it to NTSC via swap magic and position it within the game.

PS2Menace, see if ya can do that. If ya can, I might just have to buy swapmagic :)

Yeah it works if you force NTSC mode. But to be honest with ya, I'll just wait till the US release because you still can't get the image right even with the position fix in the game.

Problem is, I don't think Sony will bring it to the US, Siren 1 sold pretty bad there, and no sign till now of it.

And, can I download Swapmagic 3.6 from the net?

Thanks.

I think they will because all they would have to do is what we're doing for them right now and rip all the extra languages. And yeah, you could technically download Swap Magic 3.6 from the net, but you can't boot it unless you have a mod-chip already or the retail swap magic.

@Murricio
if you have a modchip you shouldnt need to use swapamgic, maybe you need a scart lead/signal convertor?

Yeah, I thought on that, but it is quite expensive here in brazil, but maybe I will look into it, since today is my birthday and I will earn some $$$$$ :)

And there is something like that that changes PAL to PAL-M (system here in Brazil)?

Yeah, I have with Swap Magic 3.6 on both your and my rips but I have to leave it a PAL image and force NTSC with SM. If I patch the .iso with any sort of a PAL 2 NTSC patcher, it locks up. Everytime.I can't get it halfway decently centered enough to play it. Maybe some people can deal with it but I don't really care to play it yet. I also have the first and never played it longer than to test it works.

Where do you find CD/DVD Gen? If it's in apache, and you go into quick launch...the button is greyed out so I can't click it. Any help?
