You've got all the bases covered there copying
Only suggestion would be to keep all programs up to date.

Well all the programs you are using are free with the exception of AnyDVD & CloneDVD. So all updates are free too.
With AnyDVD & CloneDVD even though they aren't free - you get free updates for lifetime.
So keep the programs you have up to date wouldn't cost anything (Shrink & decrypter are no longer updated so you probably have the last version)

I need help again. As far as I know I haven't changed any of my Nero settings since our last chat. But I'm getting an error again. Maybe you can help me again. I really appreciate you pointing me in the right direction all the time. Anyway here's my error log.

Hey flywilley
Take the burn speed down from 16x to 8x.
Prodisc is okay but I'd stick with Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden.
You can get good deals on Taiyo Yuden at supermediastore. It's where I buy most of my Taiyo's. Verbatim I get in store when they're on sale for like 50 for 14.99.
File 'Drivers\CDRALW2K.SYS':
Nero and Roxio don't always play well toegther so you can uninstall Roxio and run the zap tool.
Give that a go and let us know.

This is probably a simple task but it's me we are talking about; How do I find Roxio and uninstall it?

Yeah it's pretty easy. Go to add/remove programs in control panel.
Find Roxio listed 'currently installed programs'. Highlight it then click 'remove'. Then download and run the zap tool to remove all traces.

Ok, I don't feel completely retarded now because that's where I looked for it but it's not on the list. So, should I go ahead and download the zap and run it.

See anything there like SonicDVD or RecordNow? Both Roxio products.
If you don't try reducing the burn speed and see if that does the trick.
The Roxio driver is also used in a couple of other programs - I just can't remember which ones right now.

Well I tried slowing it down but that didn't work. Then I tried ripping the movie again and burning it but no luck there either. So I ripped it a 3rd time to my extra drive and this time it worked. I have 2 drives My C: drive had 80 gigs and my D: has 10. D: was installed purposely for backing up movies with out using my up my C: drive. My C: drive has PowerDVD on it. Is that one of the Roxio products? I'm just trying to understand why my C: wouldn't but my D: would. Thanks for your help.

Hello again Binkie, I found out eventually that I had no graphics card in my computer and as it was so slow and had no memory we took the plunge and went and bought a laptop. It's an HP Pavilion like the one that started this thread, but to make it more difficult it's French and has Vista. So all the Nero stuff I had downloaded and all the forums I'd visited have gone out the proverbial. Nevertheless, I've been learning, my hair has grown back and I've downloaded all sorts of TV through Bitcomet and Afterdawns guides and I am grateful. So far we have just watched the programs on the computer in bed at night and that's been fine, but I downloaded a film; Casino Royale DvDrip[ENG]-aXXo; and while it plays on my computer we want to watch it on the TV screen. So I burnt it onto a DVD+RW, which also plays on the computer but not on my DVD player. Do I need to use any of the miriad programs to change its format for my DVD player or should I just give up and watch it on my laptop?
My DVD player has played other DVDrs which have recorded TV programs so it would appear that it's not that it's just a fussy player.

@flywilley
I wouldn't have thought that would have made a diff ripping to the other drive since the programs you running are probably on the c drive.
But hey it did the trick!
PowerDVD isn't a Roxio product though - can you post a screen pic of the apps in add/remove programs? I may be able to figure it out that way.
@kevanfee
Man french and vista - I'd be lost :)
What did you use to convert the movie? axxo's are usually in PAL format. If you're in a NTSC region (us & canada) then if it wasn't converted to the correct format maybe why not playing on the dvd player.
If you need to change the format we can keep it pretty simple too.
Then could be that the player doesn't like +RW format. Most newer should but you can check the make and model here to see if it does.

You STILL have traces of Roxio on your PC. You sure you ran that clean tool?!
And your firmware needs updating..
http://www.liteonit.com/DOWNLOADS/ODD/LH...re/DR18GL0G.zip
Extract and run that.
Now you've done those two, ditch the crappy media and get yourself some Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden DVDs. Order them online if you have to.

Nope, not there. That's not the whole list tho.
Anyway, I can tell you have Roxio stuff left on your PC, as...
Quote: Existing drivers:

..is a Roxio software driver. Try running a regisry cleaner and defragging your HDD. Apparently Roxio Zap isn't doing it's job properly.

Nope, none there. But that doesn't mean you don't have Roxio files on your PC. When a program is installed, in places files in your registry too (that's what RAM is used to store).
So, seeing as RoxioZap aint working, try my above suggestions.

Download and run CCleaner.
FYI, Windows DeFragg isn't very good and I reccomend you use the trial version of O&O DeFrag Pro, which btw is a very good investment.
