bratcher-YUP !!!! I'm still rolling right along with My Benq 1655 & Nec -3500 &2500A & whichever drive wears Out 1st in the Tower will Probably Be Replaced With something Plextor ? The Newer Plextors All Booktype like The 716's Right?

Haven't fully looked thru the sales yet but here's what I found that was decent for 8/19 - 8/25
Maxell DVD+-R 16X 4.7G recordables at Office Depot
Anyone see any others please post......tia.... :)
....gm
of course gotta try and find the "RT" in the PART number per negritude.....to get ricohjpn discs!!!

- the only Maxell's i use are the 16x +R, but only the RICOHJPNR03 variety which i am able to buy specifically from http://www.svp.co.uk. I use more of these Maxell's than my ultra sexy Verbatim TY discs...

The last 100 pack of Maxell discs that I purchased from OD (about 45 days ago) coded out as RICOHJPNR03

I want to get some of the RICOHJPNR03's so I might get some to "try" out for comparisons sake. I've only used a couple and not with the new LH-20A1S. :D

I think they do but I haven't checked the specs. Meanwhile I'm building a new computer. Guess what DVD drive gets installed in it? The 716-A from my present computer!! The old one will then be stripped apart & sold off on Ebay.
That 716 keeps right on ticking & I love that....

Glad My wife isn't an afterdawn member ! When I switched to my 19" WS Lcd from my 15" crt I started noticing smudges of dead bug residue all over my new Lcd Monitor ! & I could'nt figure out what was happening ? I thought that maybe my LCD was some weird Techno Bugg Zapper or something ? That was till I found out that My Lovely Wifey Was Playing Godzilla Vs. BamBi with those Little Gnats ,Moth's , Flies ? Catfreak Bugs ! I explained to her that LCD's were More delcate than CRT's & asked her to not Squish any more bugs on screen ! So catfreaks bug would give her fits ! Good one though !!!!!!!!!

Oh!! creaky you don't count! :P You know that most of us talking about these sales can't get those ultra sexy Verbs or the RICOHJPNR03 direct. I'm sure that if we shopped around enough on the internet that we could find something that had the "correct" MID. :) Thanks for the info on the Ricoh's tho, good to know that they are worthy or compare to Verbs and TY. :)
Update on the Maxell sale. I went to OD today and from what I could tell the only remaining 100 packs were CMC Crap!! Of course w/o the advice of negritude I wouldn't have known this. I'm assuming that CMC in the "part number" indicates they are CMC MAG discs. My friend bought some of those from Sam's a while back and they are TERRIBLE. :S
I'll look around and see if any of the other retailers that match prices have the same discs but Ricoh branded. :)

I'll check the OD near me & see if there is a pack therte with the RT part number.
Oh & CMC? It's junk for video!! Test burned a movie at 4x on an 8x CMC Imation disc. Light pixillation 3 times and 2 brief freezes. That disc went in the garbage after the movie was over. The rest of the 25 pack I bought on sale at OD a few days ago? Thrown away....
3 other packs will try to be sold on Ebay. Masybe somebody will take them. If not then I'll toss them in the trash.
I wonder if the Indian made 16x Imation is good, fair or bad? Opened one of the 50 packs & burned a movie on it at 4x. First 40 minutes show no problems. The rest of the 2 hour movie awaits to be seen. If it acts like CMC then the remaining unopened 50 & hundred packs I got cheap at OD go to Ebay & the opened 50 pack goes in the trash.

What do they code out as bratcher?? If they are CMC MAG they probably will not perform up to your standards. :) NOW on the other hand there are a couple of the CMC MAG MID's that perform pretty well but I'm not gonna go searching them out. LOL.
I learned my lesson a long time ago on SL media and I'm learning it now on the DL media. LOL. Hard headed SOB I am. :P
btw Victor speaks the truth. If it looks like a MEMOREX and performs as such then what is it really?? LOL.

They have TDK on sale at Walgreens,but I couldn't locate the country they were made in.
Walgreens: $12.99 for 50 pk. No plus format in my local store.

Yeah I know catfreak but it's so difficult to resist. LOL. If I can be certain on my purchase I might get some of the RICOHJPNR03 discs. :) IF creaky likes them and they perform up to his standards, HEY they gotta be good. :) I remember binkie7 saying something about the quality too, GOOD that is.

i honestly use them like they're going out of fashion, have loads in stock but am always checking they're still out there in case i run out. Always have loads of ultra sexy Verb TY if i do run out though
