This one doesn't have much on it os here's 2 other suggestions:
Use Shrink by it;s lonesome.
Or rip w/ DVD Decrypter 1st then open those files in Shrink.
I use the exact software you listed above, but without using VOB Blanker, it will ended up keeping all the trailers and credits, which will in turn lower the outcome quality quite a bit. Is there any other software that can remove such extra materials after ripping the movie with Decrypter and prior to using Shrink to burn it? Please advise!

Is there anyway to do it so that we can eliminate all the trailers, credits, and junk from the movie before burning onto disc??? VOB Blanker doesn't work for this title! Please advise!!!!
I am trying to do as less compression as possible to get better quality in the final product!

Thank you Zo, it worked with CloneDvD. The only problem is that some of the captions have gone missing and there are a couple studders during play back. At least the trailers and junks are gone. Thanks again!

make sure you check correctly what audio you want also 5.1 channel 6 channel subtitles etc.
also check the burn speed you don't want it at max. set it between 4x and 8x and use good media like Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim

I am ripping my Live Free using DVDFAB Decrypter, then create an ISO with DVDShrink. Then burn with ImgBurn. I don't get any errors but during play back the disk will freeze. I have tired it twice now and get the same freezing result, but at a differnt point in the movie. Any thoughts on how to resolve this? Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!

Use better blank media like Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim and burn at a slower speed (somewhere between 4x and 8x) should solve the problem

Hmm, I am using Verbatim? I haven't tried it at slower speeds yet. I am using a NEC burner. Can't remeber the model off hand but its newer and is flashed with the latest firmware.

First off let me saw I am new to this whole ripping DVDs. I really appreciate any help I get and will probably not be using terminology that we are used to. Let me apologize in advanced.
I am also having a problem with Live Free or Die Hard pausing at different parts after successfully burning it and trying to play it on ordinary DVD players. It does not skip when I play it on the computer that I burned it from. I was shown how to use these software so I am not sure what they do and how exactly they come together. The person explained it to me but to be honest at the time it sounded like blah blah blah bla blah. Now it might make sense. A have successfully burned other DVD with no problems but this movie is giving me problems. I am curretly using these softwares in this order.
RipIt4Me Version 1.6.7.0
DVD Decrypter Version 3.5.4.0 coded by Lighting UK
FixVTS 1.603
DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15
nero burning ROM 6 version 6.0.0.11
Please help me burn this movie without the pauses. Thanks for all the help. If you suggest new software please try and point me in the right direction and how to use it.
Thanks

Ok first sorry for asking a question that has been somewhat answered in different posts through out several relevant threads, here it goes.
I bought live free or die hard as a Christmas present for my dad a few weeks back, now I'm having a few playback problems. I backed up only the main movie (the unrated version) with dvdfab 4.0.1.2/vobblanker/dvdshrink and burned with nero 7. The backup tests well with nero scan disk (100%) and disc quality (93%). When the movie is played in stand alone players it has a slight pause at 31:04 and then displays 29:47. This also happens at 1:10:52 (pauses) and displays 1:09:51. The same time changes happen when playing on my pc minus the pauses.
From what I've read so far this seems to be a problem with vobblanker not reading ilv cells? The pauses don't bother me much I'm just worried about the dvd structure; it seems like a perfect place various disk errors. I don't use anydvd or clonedvd (already used up my trial version) I'm worried that movies like the new resident evil, war, and shoot 'em up will have the same protection if not worse. Is this the beginning of a rough patch for freeware user?s seeing as how only dvdfab is updated anymore?

try using fixvts instead of vob blanker and see if you have the same problem

I tried fixvts as well; the movie still pauses and displays a previous play time yet continues to play. Nothing is actually missing from the movie there's just two cells at the times I've listed that don't comply with vobblanker or fixvts.
I've run into plenty of dvd's with theatrical and unrated versions on one disc that have ilv cells. This is the first one I've had this exact problem with since jet li's fearless. fixvts or vobblanker couldn't fix the 2 or 3 points in that one either.
I'll just have to wait and see if any new releases give me the same problems.

You need to keep up with the updates, DVDFab has had a few problems with a version or few of late, but this has been fixed in the last few updates..

I could be wrong but I thought that when you open dvdfab it used to notify you of new updates, I never received a message for the 4.0.3.0 dec 26th update or today?s 4.0.3.2 update.(I haven't had to use beta versions in a long time)
In any case I downloaded today?s update ripped, cleaned, burned and I still get the same glitch. I've backed up this movie successfully 4 different times using all variations of programs getting the same result.
2 small pauses don't really bother me, the movie still plays and I really don't want to complain about programs that are free. So I guess I'll leave it at that, thanks for the help.

Granted I have really old drives I'm still ripping and burning just fine I use verbatim and burn at 2.4x.
Quote: The backup tests well with nero scan disk (100%) and disc quality (93%).
(that was in my first post)
Even if it was a drive going out I doubt that I would have the same problem in the exact same places on 4 different disks. The last thing I can think of is some strange defect in the original disk.

Single layer, I only rip the main movie with one audio codec to cut down on compression.
The small problems with this movie are really no big deal, it's the first one I've had a problem with in a long time. I only stated my problem to see if anyone else had experienced the same thing. Seeing as how I'm the only one it's probably just my copy, ill get around to exchanging it eventually.
