With a virtually limitless amount of $$$, you can max out the specs of any motherboard, get 2 8800's, and just buy the best of everything....But, you've really got to ask yourself what you are going to do with the thing. Why do you need 4-750GB HDD and only a single 160GB? If you plan on having the 160 as the system(OS) drive why not get 2+ drives and run RAID-0 to get maximum performace? If I remember correctly your system is going to be geared mainly for fps games...so your focus should probably be MEM, GPU, CPU, motherboard, soundcard. secondary things would be HDD, DVD-ROM, etc.
I'm sure Lp531 will make you a very nice system, but again with a limitless pocket all would point towards maxing everything out of what ever board is chosen.

i dnt wanna go for an sli setup rie now because one 8800 gtx is powerful enough. ill buy da next one in sumtime wen it becomes a bit cheaper.
the reason y i need 1*160 or wateva smaller drive is for the os.
and da rem 750*4 well because of my multimeida backups - one for movies, one for tvshows and stuff, one for music and other stuff, and da last one for my backed up data, games and iso's.
and btw other stuff is nt pron.

if the things you plan for backup is critical might I suggest setting it up in a RAID format, either RAID-0+1 (For speed and redundancy) but this will make it only 750GB x 2 = 1.5TB the other two HDD will be constantly mirroring the 1.5TB. The other option is RAID-5 (approx 700GB x 3 = 2.1TB w/the 4th drive sitting idle until something goes wrong with one of the other drives.) it's only a guesstimate about how much the raid setup will use on each of the 3 drives for HDD reproduction on to the "hot" spare should one of the original drives crap out. Only a suggestion, but again depends on how important the stuff you have is to you.
As for the OS drive get something fast...WD Raptor HDD. it's 10K RPM drive speed is unmatched in performance...that is unless you go SCSI with the available 15K drives. I've built several systems using the Raptor drives and I must say things load much quicker. again just my $0.02
Oh yeah even if it is porn I wouldn't tell a soul, I haven't shared where mines is. ha ha ha

i Dint knw u cud type Porn newa ya ya fr the first time sharing isnt caring.
newa i dont need a backup raid config.because as soon as i download stuff worth 4.5 gb or say a season of any tc show, it automatically gets written on a dvd. so i really have no point in puttin it in a raid.
plus i put my really imp data in a 40 gb poket HDD

I see good deal. Yeah I've been backing up my important stuff on pocket drive as well...now I just hope that that doesn't die on me. I do the same with the files I get...4.5GB and on to a disc it goes. Your system is going to be nice.
@Lp531
any specs yet? 680i, Quad Core, 4GB DDR2-1066, 8800GTX...damn I can see it now! :) In-Win's got a nice ferrari case out now.
Best of all you can get it w/o PSU for a mere $76

Lp531,
How's it going buddy? Haven't talked in a while. :-) I'm really interested to see what you do with sarthak14 on this. ooooooooh-aaaaah.
For some reason I can't see needing all that storage if it's going on a DVD-5 anyway. Oh well! That's why I have a little AMD single core and 500 GB of storage. Just for small potatoes. hehehe.

My mobo is still to hot...[43c w/ no load at idle] taking it out and adjusting my front fans this Sat. What is the hottest part of the mobo and any sujestions while I am taking everything apart- going to remove some plastic on top for better air flow...may revirse it to intake also-[on my case the air has to go through two pieces of plastic w/ holes on top of case]

herrick,
Remove the northbridge and southbridge heatsinks and reinstall them with some artic silver 5. Make sure you remove all the original junk thermal compound. I would also suggest installing some chipset fans while you have the mobo out. I did this to my asus P5W DH Deluxe and my mobo temp went from 46-47C down to 31-32C. 40x40x20mm fans fit my chipset heatsinks perfectly. I mounted the fans by screwing them into the gaps between the heatsink fins.

@ sarthak14 (& Lp531),
I did some research but don't know for sure on the compatibility of the system that I put together. I also only shopped at Newegg.com because I like their customer service and gettin all my goodies at one store. I know if you wanted to shop around you could get some better deals and all but here's what I came up with for starters. ;-)
NZXT full tower case
Thermaltake psu
Lite-on DVD-RW
NEC DVD-RW
eVGA mobo
OCZ DDR2 1100 RAM
Arctic Silver 5 (best on the market!!)
Intel C2D E6600
WD Raptor 150
WD 500 GB (times 4 or add another 1 if you want) Getting these saves GOBs of money, I know that you said it doesn't matter but almost $130 per drive seems like $$$ to me. ;-) Actually over $200 if you go Seagate and get SATA 3.0. :-)
I'm sure that I forgot something but here's what I thought would be a good start. I think all the cables are included in the mobo deal but you might check to be sure. I didn't add an aftermarket cpu cooler either because everyone has their preferences but I'm sure that someone will add their 2 cents to make sure you get something that will cool that CPU in case the stock one is bogus. ;-)
Like I said before this is something that I would consider a dream machine and I really don't know 100% sure of the parts and compatibility. BUT here you have it something to at least look at until Mort81 and Lp531 can add their ideas or critiques. They're good ladds if ye didn't know. ;-)
Grand Total before S & H is $2264 and some change. Really a good deal for everything that your getting. I LOVE NEWEGG......lol. hehehe.
.....gm
@6sdser,
Nice Ferrari Case there buddy. ;-)
edit:
You guys are to nice not to mention that I forgot the GPU. LOL.
Here it is.....
If you do one right now.. eVGA 8800 GTX $569.99 for one GPU.....
If you go SLi right now...2 of these... eVGA 8800 GTS $279.99 each or $559.98 for SLi (2 of 'em)
I don't know which config would be better right but I would think the 2 for $560 would do great for any game in the next few years. ;-) Lp531 you tell me.......:-)
And that pushes your total to a little over $2800 with SLi or a BA GPU......WOW that's some $$$$ money now!!!!

herrick,
Even if you don't install any chipset fans, I highly recommend reseating the chipset heatsinks with some artic silver 5. The oem thermal compound under the heatsinks is crap. I'm not familiar with that mobo but if it has the gold colored covers over the heatsinks (like the P5W DH Deluxe), take them off to let the heatsinks breath. You can most likely install some chipset fans later w/o pulling the mobo as long as there is nothing over the heatsinks.
Edit: just looked up your mobo and it looks to have covers over the chipset heatsinks. I would take them off and pitch em. But that's your call. They're only held on with glue. Like I said earlier, these mods cooled my mobo down about 15 degrees C. 46C before. 31C now.
BTW these are the chipset fans I went with http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/i...products_id=619 I tried a couple different 40x40x10mm fans 1st but they were junk. These are much better and move twice the air.
