Just started playing The Walking Dead game series. Very interesting and unique. Really more of an interactive choose-your-own-adventure than a game. I am enthralled. Not sure how long it is, but I'm at a couple hours into the first episode and I have all 5.

AMD Phenom II X6 1100T 4GHz(20 x 200) 1.5v 3000NB 2000HT, Corsair Hydro H110 w/ 4 x 140mm 1500RPM fans Push/Pull, Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5, 8GB(2 x 4GB) G.Skill RipJaws DDR3-1600 @ 1600MHz CL9 1.55v, Gigabyte GTX760 OC 4GB(1170/1700), Corsair 750HX

Hey Kevin, now I understand why the PM. Why don't you link us to your review so we can read what you said? I'd be interested in what you wrote about it.

Jeff, I answered you over on the builder thread.
In honor of Russ, I think I'll be hanging out over there most of the time, unless they "kick me off" again, lol.

By the way, what I forgot to mention, is that it appears to me that Arma 3 has been super heavily influenced by the OF guys who left and went over there when codemasters closed their studio to concentrate on racing games. It appears that hopefully they convinced everybody to broaden the appeal by simplifying the interface. The infantry showcase so far indicates that. I have kind of said this before - but what's new is that there will be a huge pool of mods that will get created - whole new campaigns, which is where DayZ came from - some user mod to arma2. But with the arma3 simplified mechanics, and richer engine - graphically lush - there likely will be many great "OF" similar campaigns in the future, as an alternative to the running-on-a-rail of the COD games.

(Thanks again by the way, Jeff, for exposing me to the OF games in the first place - they rank with my all-time favorites. That reminds me - I still have to go back and fully play the expansion pack I bought, and do those dicey rescue the pilot missions - challenging and hairy!)

Rich

Despite it's frustrating short comings about half the series is pretty decent. I say half because towards the end of episode 2 or 3 the game auto deleted all my saves :\

Rich, my nickname for Newegg Reviews is 'K3'. As it used to be here too.

Interesting to see that despite a generally positive review, the manufacturer wrote a comment back, rather than just diverting you to their support address, that's quite good to see. I'm looking at getting into doing this too (probably UK sites, since you have to live in the US to buy from newegg), would be grateful for any tips you may have!

Yeah, he/she told me what I already knew too LOL! I just didn't touch on the subject :p It's not exactly a forum, it's a review. I was aiming at keeping the technobabble to a minimum, so as to not scare off the potential newbies ;)

I'm afraid I was simply noticed for my type of reviews. Probably my dedicated purchases through them too ;)

I guess if one wanted to be part of a review program, they could ask the respective company.

Ah so they approached you then? Fair enough. That's interesting to know though, at least. The last time I wrote a review for a product (a negative) the site in question refused to allow it to be posted. Whether that was a coincidental failure or some hidden motive not allowing negative reviews to be posted, who knows. All the reviews at the time were positive for what is in my opinion, quite a poor product.

No, I was not approached. I did receive a notification by email, that the manufacturer responded to my review.

Newegg specifically stated, it can be positive or negative reviews. We're giving buyers informative information about products people buy.

That's pretty messed up that a site wouldn't let you post a negative review. I guess I understand why, but that's not right at all...

Yeah, it's called selling advertising.

That seemed to be a fairly balanced comprehensive review. (So tell us how you REALLY feel about it, lol)

Just kidding. Good job.

New Star Citizen trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl...d&v=JrQ0qMRZ_1Q

Kind of corny in my opinion but was impressed by the graphics (again). Supposedly that's what the game will look like if you have the hardware to run it.

Thanks for the link. I am supremely excited by this game being both a fan of Wing Commander and CryEngine. Not to mention I am a longtime combat flight-simmer.

For anyone keeping up on current world crises; an Israeli scientist just figured out how to save the bee population and at the same time, someone figured out how to use the bees as pest control. Western world's food supply = Saved... kinda.

I hate bees with a passion, but I've actually tried leaving them alone, since I heard of the problem. Snakes, spiders, scorpions... don't have a problem with them. But Bees? They're almost my biggest fear.

Interesting, didn't know the bee's were in trouble. I would miss the bee's, wasps and hornets not so much lol.

Frankly, I think without them it would create jobs for people. But, it'd probably be a greater ecological disaster than I realize.

Bees do not phase me in the slightest nor do snakes or spiders. They are very common around here. Bees don't ever attack without good cause. Also, spiders and snakes keep pests under control, and the ones around here are entirely harmless. I go out of my way to leave them be. Scorpions on the other hand, freak the hell out of me. Scary, and much more aggressive than bees.

Hornets or wasps would be a more worthy subject of your fears Omega ;P We have problems with hornets around here sometimes. Also HUGE dragonflies around wetlands(which are an essential part of the Wisconsin landscape),

And big fat June Bugs all over the dim-damn place. Everywhere. Luckily the cold winter kills all the big stuff off.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ten-lined_June_beetle

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phyllophaga_%28genus%29

Both kinds are common.

Red_Maw, Omega, basically we've been in danger of losing the world's entire honey bee population for quite a while now. They've been dying off in droves. Honey is used in a HUGE numbers of processed and natural foods, as well as being a wonder medicine, and a source for very pure sugar. They also ensure pollenation of many different types of commercial crops, which wouldn't produce any food without them. Also it's a natural preservative that lasts literally forever. Honey from the beginning of recorded history has been found to be perfectly edible and as fresh as the day it was new. Just heat it up and it goes right back to golden liquid.

Bees are essentially the lynchpin of most of the world's food supplies, and they do such a titanic amount of work naturally that human labor could never even get close to replacing them.

I think it has something to do with commercial pesticides and the bees taking pollen from poisoned plants. I have a few friends that run a bee farm and they've been losing entire hives over and over with no explanation for years now.

haters gonna hate.

Seriously though, this is the 'if you can't beat them, join them' approach. It was an inevitability I suppose, but taking leaves out of nvidia's marketing book is a disappointing way for AMD to try and cover their lost ground.
