Got new laser, XCM case, Qoob Pro, Ritek G05.
ALL my Iso work perfectly. There were many which wouldn't stream which I assumed to be because they were corrupt (lucky I kept them anyway). EVERYTHING works. No effort backup booting. I even did the soldering myself. First Ritek didn't work. I nearly cried. I adjusted the laser pot to 200. Then all is good. Using GCoS 1.5. Does anyone have success with action replay using GCoS 1.5? I know the latest release has support for it but I am not sure how to enable this.
Here are my backups

I have Geist since yesterday, very cool the ideia of the game.
A friend of mine was starting playing and before he can see the best starting part of the game, Wich is we are a ghost...he said: "oh, nothing special, Doom genre, worst.." and he left..
I admit i didnt like it too at begining, but i play always a bit
longer to comprove it.
Then i played the Geist for 1 hour and i saw this game is very special in all ways.
Today i'll show him the game starting the point when we die. I bet
he will love then the game !

I don't think the source code is of any use to you. The bios is open source so the source is usually included in distributed files. You want to use the PSO version for booting from your max drive.

ok, ok, i am a total n00b at gamecube modding and hacking and stuff,i only found out about the pso thing today!
i just need to find the answer to this simple question:
is it possible to have an n64 for the gamecube without have a broadband adapter, or PSO, or a network etc? Can you littery burn a disc (a DVD-R) i understand, and put it straight in the GameCube and run some n64 games?
i have both the zelda discs, the ocorina of time, and the collectors edition if that makes any difference.
i realise this may be off topic and i apologise, but its so difficult to find the answer. if someone can just reply or send an email to gregnash at mac dot com, id be so grateful.
thanks a lot everyone!

There was some talk by ICE of getting 100mbps out of the BBA. I'm kind of new to this whole scene, but I just ordered a network adapter today and hopefully will have everything up and running by the end of this week. Anyways, here's a link to a site that may have a way to get 100mbps, try it out and post back:
http://kontek.net/kontek/console/bbadebug.shtml
edit: is there really any downside to using the PSO method that I will not like?

Meathane, sorry no non cut/burnt disc boots without a hard/soft mod.
t1grfire, I think you understand well, the limitation of the BBA is that it may lead to some isos not loading due to underruns which you can picture as equivalent to big DREs, after going through all of that myself I really can reccommend getting a hard mod au.

Methane have you tested that?
a)It sounds ridiculous
b)If it theoretically worked (I am sure it won't) then you could only play N64 Roms

crzyfl thats where you go to find all different files needed for the cube, including bios, there's also a mp3 player there in the form of a .dol file. Haven't been able to try yet since I can't figure out how to add a .dol file to the cube, but I would appreciate any input on this.

I know the site but I haven't seen this .dol on there!
A .dol is a gamecube executable file, you know like .exe,.com on the computer. If you have a bios capable of browsing discs then you can burn it to one and boot it. Or the Max Drive Pro is able to boot them. Or finally depending on which mod chip you run, you can flash it to the memory on the chip and use it from there. I already had the capability to play .mp3 using the linux media centre but I was just curious about the 'Qoob' one.

if you have pro you just plug the your computer into the usb port and run the flashing software.
1.Press 'connect to qoob'
2.Press 'write'
3.browse to location of .dol and open
4.Select flash slot to use
5.Press 'disconnect from qoob'
6.Unplug cable
When you have this flashed in it should appear in the applications menu.

The only problem with that is that it only allows me to flash .gcb files, not .dol. I am using qoob flash v 1.0. Is there another flashing program I should be using or a up to date one?

Yar, I went through the same thing. Go to mod that cube and get the 1.3c BIOS version and flasher. It also allows you to boot backups while 1.0 dosen't. With the updated flash software there is a drop box in the open files to flash dialog box where you can select .dol. Hope this helps.

okay, I'm now using GCOS 1.5, which has a built in backup tool, it says to just go to http://192.168.1.32/backup.iso. From previous entries, I've seen that you just punch that address into any browser window, except for FireFox, and it will start downloading. I can't seem to connect to it, even tried flash fxp. Can anyone help me, its not due to me not reading everything, because I've easily spent over 8 hours working on all this. Any help would be appreciated.
