IF You want to rip gamecube games YOU ALWAYS NEED BROADBANDADAPTER..always. The cable usb of the qoob just lets u program the chip. The best chip avaiable is QOOB PRO, that's the one i've got. Perfect, i run backups in DvD -R TDK 4,7GB.

Can we get an update on the Guide here? or can someone tell me where to find one? I've done it before, but now I'm starting all over, and really forget what to do. And the Guide here seems a little old, as there newer Loaders & stuff.

I order from meritline.com Mini DvD's ritek ...:( because im from portugal, i will pay a lot for UPS.. but i've been reading in foruns that they are the best dvds to burn games gamecube. Even the TDK -R 4,7GB gives me some bugs eventually like freezing and music bugs.
But besides that the games run very good. I just have one TDK DVD RW and QOOB PRO doesnt read it..do you guys know any DvD RW that is readable by Qoob PRO ? :)

Sorry for the somewhat repetitive problem, but here it goes:
I just received everything I need to stream from my computer. I know its slow and choppy at times, but I want to try it out. I've read all the posts on how to configure the GC and the PC, what programs to use, when to do what blah blah... but what it all comes down to is, nothing is happening.
I used psul -s to try and save user data to the card, but I couldn't get any kind of connection, the prompt just sat there waiting for connection, the game couldn't connect to server. I tried using Phoenix 2.5 to do the same thing and got the same error.
Now, everytime I try and connect, I drop link and then get it back again (XP's little cable is connected/not connected thing) I'm assuming this is normal as it happens on every attempt. Any thoughts on what I could be doing wrong?
PC IP: 192.168.1.100
subnet: 255.255.255.0
GC IP: 192.168.1.32
subnet: 255.255.255.0
default gateway 192.168.1.100
I'm using a crossover cable connected to my onboard adapter. I pinged the cube and got a reply. Should this be working?

Alright here we go, I recently started streaming games and I've gotten the server and everything up. Recently though I encountered a problem trying to run Naruto: Gekitou Ninja Taisen 3. I get it running with a little lag but when I head to the main menu it freezes and lets out an irritating buzz. I'm using GC Disc Server Ver. 1.3.0 beta to play it. Is there another program I should be using and if so where can I get it? Or is there another way to get it to work without using Qoob I should say.

I've got all the equipment needed:
a brand new Crossover Cable,
Dedicated Network Card
Qoob Pro
BBA.
Yet , guess what.. I can't seem to rip GC Games.
I just get nothing using alle kinds of methods.
The only clue I've got is when i try to use Ngcdev.0.1b with Jetstream.
it inits the BBA, then it says : 100Mb/s Full Duplex.
I guess it should be Half-Duplex?
But how do I configure that?
've been working at it for 6 hs now, it's about time I get it to work!
Thanks in Advance

Newbie to GC modding. Have Executer-3 in XBOX running just fine forever.
Goal: To grab ISO's posted to newsgroups, and play them just like I have done with XBOX.
I am not interested in ripping games, or playing GC games on my PC, etc. I plan opn obtaining ISOs,
burning them, and playing them on a modded GC.
I am still reading this thread (and other sites), but would like to state what I believe
are some correct statements, and see if you folks can tell me I am right or wrong.
1) ModChip is best technique. I will obtain QOOB PRO and install it.
Or should I get a Viper GC? QOOB PRO seems to be favorite.
1A) modchipworld.com seems to be the best place in U.S. to get this chip. They are currently out for a week (they say). Is there a better place?
2) Buring ISOs using Nero works just fine. If you choose to burn to Ritek G04 mini's,
that is your best chance for success. If you go full-size DVD-R, you have to mod your case, or
buy a case replacement (or run topless).
3) QOOB Pro installations are slightly different between GC revs. You will know what rev you have once
you get to the motherboard. Once there, choose "Diagram-A" or "Diagram-B" for soldering install.
4) "Direct Booting" is the term given to bypass this "boot from PSO first, then insert desired game" style of
playing... right? With direct booting, you put your copied DVD-R in, and turn on the GC... just like a real
game. Is this correct? (Forgive my lame description of PSO technique, I have not studied it
yet, as it seems to be or is becoming obsolete. That could be a false statement).
5) Before or after install of QOOB PRO, flash with QOOB Flasher 1.1 utility to install QOOB PRo bios V1.3 (or
suggestions? QOOB PRO V1.3b3? b4?).
6) Question: What is the QOOB lid switch mod for? I think there is one. Not sure.
From there, once BIOS is loaded, you can start the GC and select 'B' to go into the menus.
7) What is this "Action Replay" disc , as it pertains to "providing the cheat engine"?
8) Came across mention of "LooneyCubes utility" for makeing multi-game DVDs (more than one game installed on DVD.
But link to it was dead. Anyone have a link handy? or does another version this type of utility
for making multi-game DVDs exist elsewhere? (that works, right, with the QOOB PRO bios) ?
Summary: In order to reach my goal above, I simply need to get and install a QOOB PRO chip,
flash it, get some Ritek g04 minis, burn some ISOs pulled from the Net, and run them. Its that
simple (?)
thanks!

Normally I don't diss the newbies... we all were (are) one at some point, but man...
Lolipop: read the f'n thread! Don't just think you can hop into any endeavor like this and ask to have your hand held. No one is gonna spoon feed you.
Take a look at my post above. I had 4 hours at least of reading this thread, other threads here, and other sites (modethatcube, etc) before making that FIRST post!
The answers you are looking for are here, d.a. Try reading.

Well I went with the qoob Pro! The soldering was very tricky(small circuit board & chip legs!)but successful. I also wanted to use full size media and went with the Viper Case. Without flashing the chip I played an original game with no problems.
Used my favourite bit torrent site and got Qoob Ultimate Tools v2.
Flashed the qoob chip with qoob-flash-13crk
Ripper "ngcdev ripper v0.2a" use the configure .exe and then load the .dol file using the qoob-flasher.Unplug usb cable.
Hold B button down while starting cube with disk in and go to "applications" and select the NGCDEV
Streaming following the on screen htpp address
Fix the saved file with "fstfix1.4" using "Wiped GCM Fixer"."Important"-I had to change the saved streamed file from a .rar to .gcm in order to load in the Wiped GCM Fixer. Check the Tweak and align method(32k) and then click 1.4 GB Image(Original gc size)
Burning with Nero Burning Rom "No multi-session" - "ISO 9660 + Joliet"- Finalized session. Burn at slowest speed with no other apps running and don't touch the computer.
P.S. I have read and research for at least one month before this post.
I have had success with 3 games so far. The originals get put away and the kids can play with(or scratch/ruin) the backups.

Powerhous,
Excellent post. Stuck to the details. A couple questions though:
My understanding is once I got the QOOB PRO in, I simply flash the BIOS with, say, QOOB PRO Bios 1.3c, using whatever QOOB Flasher is the best (forget which one). With that said, I lose you on your statements about: "...got Qoob Ultimate Tools v2. Flashed the qoob chip with qoob-flash-13crk..."
What is "qoob-flash-13crk"? Is this a variant of the 1.3c qoob bios?
Second question, and I probably should research, but I will be lazy like LoliPop and ask: Is this "ngcdev ripper v0.2a" use to rip GC games to your PC? And .dol is what type of file? Hmmm, my guess is that your statement here is that you put this ripper progam into one of the BIOS slots the QOOB PRO has, and run it when you wish to rip games to your PC... correct?
thanks!!!

You have got it Boboclown! The Qoob Ultimate Tools v2 is a plethora of NGC files that include but not soly:
qoob bios=flasher(the crk is for getting around action replay cheat you dont have to use this version)
Ninja-shell
Install Pic's
GCOS( I couldn't figure out)
Cheats(Action Replay)
Rippers(NGCdev)
Others(utilities)
Backgrounds
You do not need this bundle, the files I mentioned you can get elsewere but this is well packaged with alot of files for/as the qoob chip can store quite a bit of files.Experiment!
"Hmmm, my guess is that your statement here is that you put this ripper program into one of the BIOS slots the QOOB PRO has, and run it when you wish to rip games to your PC... correct? "
I used NGCdev to first on you Puter run the .exe to configure you IP.
Then the .dol needs to be loaded to the GC via the USB with qoob flasher in an empty block.
Unplug GC USB and power on the GC while holding B on the controller.
Select "applications" on the T.V. menu NGCdev. Away you go!
Edit: I also used DVD-R.

Man, I'm psyched!
Got my QOOB PRo ordered yesterday... Got my Ritek G04 minis coming from meritline.com... got the security screws out using my BIC pen (that was semi-tricky, but only semmi)... I'm good to go.
I've done XBOX mods (executer 3), and DISH mods (Atmel 2313, JTAG, and TSOP lock), so soldering in that QPro is no big deal.
Plop down QBios 1.3c...
Suspect I'll try a couple burns with normal DVD-Rs first whilst I have the cage off, see how that works. Worst case, it doesn't, in which case I'll try the same burn with the minis. It seems like Nero, select ISO (all my ISOs I have downloaded are 1.425 gig, no need to gc wipe), burn + finalize, done, presto... right???
Anyone dremel their own case mod for full size DVD-R?
Thanks all (powerhous, venom5880) ! ! !

MAX DRIVE PRO
Found this out myself by trail and error. Just copied the GCOS 1.4 Gamecube operating system bios to the card and it said it wasn't a savestate but said it could convert it. Did that and popped the Max Drive in the Gamecube with the Max Drive Boot Disk. Chose the POS executable from the menu and ran it. Chose run back up game and it gave me 8 seconds to swap the disc for the back up! A window came up telling me the game and region. Hit A to auto detect PAL or NTSC and the back up ran perfectly! (Mario Party).
You will require...
A Gamecube (mine is UK PAL)
Max Drive Pro (Must be Pro)
Sony 8cm Mini-DVD (Handicam DVDs)
GCOS 1.4 Bios (Google for it)
A Gamecube Game RIP (Change to .ISO and burn in Nero (ISO and finalize).
Cheers
Im wondering if you can use the AR to cheat with the back up Handicam DVDs with the above method.

hi, i know how to read, and read i did. i read alot of this fourm from the begining. the guide is so old, and i can't find half the tools. they also said that you can't copy gamecube games onto mini dvds. i am pretty sure you can. i have got my xbox softmodded and my ps2 with swap magic. i have over 150 backups between the two. so how do you do gamecube? it can't be harder then xbox. is there a "soft mod" way to play backup gamecube games ? of do i have to get a mod chip. if i get a mod chip installed, is that the hardest part. can i do everything easier with a mod chip? and most importantly , is there a UPDATED guide to copying game cube games to mini dvdrs and playing them????????????? thanks a bunch. if the the stuff is too private and illegal... pm me.
