DVDXCOPY Version 1.2 to 1.5.2

Backing up my dvd's using version 1.2 dvdxcopy never was a problem.
I was able to use the gearworks burn engine or the nero external burn engine with successful burns.
The dvd's would playback on my sony dvp-ns315p and sony-ns715p without any problems. I have now upgraded to dvdxcopy 1.5.2. I still have the option of selecting gearworks burn engine or the nero external burn engine, however selecting the nero burn engine does not create succesful burnsanymore. The Sony dvd players now display cannot read disk during playback. This is very disturbing, Anyone know why this is occuring?
BTW the dvd burner is a sony dru500a with firmware 2.0f, Nero 5.5.10.28
