Duly noted, but I have this funny feeling it isn't a CPU restriction that's holding me back. I'll run those benches and report back on the results. Given the odd crash I had before, I'm going to run those tests for quite a while before I go any higher, like you say, 24 hours is a good stress test. At this particular point in time, is it better to have 1T or 2T memory timings?

Well that overclock wasn't stable at all, it failed before I ran those benches. I'm now running at 223mhz x11 with 2T timings as they seem to run better.

Alright, I got 6627, 8525 and 9133. When trying to install I got the following:
With 9133 and 8525, doesnt match installed hardware.
With 6627, these are older than currently installed drivers.
I missed ALOT on those pages. lol I didn't see the modded INF. But, I got it for 8525 and installed. But still no OC'ing! Same sh*t different day, close the window, it defaults.
But, there is something different-upon startup Zone Alarm give me a prompt that "nwiz.exe" is trying to access privileged areas.
So, I do not click anything, just leave the prompt open and then run rthdribl. Note the temps and then allow the access by nwiz. Run rthdribl again and notice the temps are slightly higher when I allow nwiz.
Any other way to tell for sure if it is OC'ed?

You need to tell Zone Alarm to allow the program, it will block it by default.

Niobis,
run 3D mark03.Once with the card at stock then run it again when you "think" it's o/clocked.Compare your scores and see if there is a difference.

The memory timings are still stock at 3-3-3-8, DRAM forced at 333mhz, 2T command rate, 220mhz FSB, 2.7V memory, 1.35V core, 11x multiplier.
Good idea on niobis' situation by the way, I hadn't thought of that.

Here are a couple of screenshots of the DFI genie bios.

sam try this for now:
Iv'e got a feeling your cpu might need the extra .05v to get you into windows.
A mistake on my part was that I was working on you having 2x512meg value select not 2x1GB chips which is why 1T command rate was causing problems.
set your FSB to 228mhz and your cpu voltage to 1.4v.
This will put you at 2508mhz.

aabbccdd,
44 degrees is nothing to be concerned about if thats under load.If thats at idle then you may want to try and increase the airflow through your case.

Is there any where you can place a fan to blow air over your card if your really concerned?I don't know of any aftermarket options as far as a dedicated gpu cooler goes for that card.

my Lian-Li has a side fan pulling air out on the videocard/mobo , the 7950 GX2 takes up two PCI slots. and yes that was under load playing Ghost Recon. at idle right now the CPU is running 38c which is fine and the mobo is at 42c. heres the inside of the Lian-Li case . i did turn around the the rear fan so its pulling air out along with the Zalman 9500 blowing to the back.per my sig

Have you got any fans pushing air in?
Try the side fan blowing air in and the leave the rear fan drawing air out.

crowy yes the front fan is pulling air in room temp is around 73F
geestar20 my 7800 GTX was running about 34c with a cooler which i though was better. but being the 7950 GX2 takes up two PCI slots i doubt they will make an aftermarket cooler for it

Leave the front fan as it is and the rear fan.Try the side fan blowing air in and see if it makes a difference.

aabbccdd,
I read somewhere on another Forum, that your particular case doesn't do too well with passively cooled motherboards. That might have something to do with temps!

That's nothing, my X1900 idles at 50 and at full load is between 65 and 95. That's fine for it, and nVidia cards are more heat tolerant than ATIs.
