ok i want to think thereturn for being so hopfull and patient with me...i got the 1 out of 3 xboxs working...well my second one had the same error 21 as the first but when i did the hotswap and did everything the same way and see if it worked it came up with a error 21...now it teased me at first becase i seen the clock thing almost come up
but then here came the error 21...now the diffrence is that there is tons of files on his c partion...way more that mine looks like 2 version of the dashbored and a sid file and a lil of everything...now what im wanting to know if i delete all files on here and install the new dashbored would that fix it? im hoping for a quick reply

so did you get your hard drive unlocked by hotswapping? what exactly did you do? and if it is working, you should be able to rebuild it now and get it working with the link i posted back a bit!

the first hdd i did worked...the second is not working there is a bunch of diffrent file....i installed the new dashbored and it dosent work still...do you think i can delete all files?and put the new dash bored on it?

if its unlocked and you have access to it as well as the hdd key from the eeprom file, you will be able to! but i would like to know, how did you hotswap it? what steps did you take ? was the reason for hotswapping because when you turn xbox on, error21 came up?

yes error 21 was the problem...and i just follwed the dirctions and it worked on the first one the 2nd one still has error 21 after a susseful swap...now i have did it again and woundering what the files are

also, if you can hook it up to your pc because its unlocked, you should be able to use xplorer360 to put the dash back on it, it works like explorer, just drag the files where there suppose to go! there are alot of write ups on it in afterdawn!

also, sorry to be a bother, but when you did a hotswap, put it in your pc, how did you know it was there? did it show up in my computer? sys manager?

yes i know i did 1 xbox succeful uesing the tut posted by the return...i did the exact same thing he said.....turn of pc...get it ready...turn it on then pause it at the start...then turn on your xbox then when microsoft pops up under the X you switch the ide cables...hit any key to contuine booting your pc....and it should be ready to go...it was for me...

by any chance, did you see the hard drive in my computer at all? i am asking because i could see the hard drive in system manager, but when a ran xplorer360, it said couldnt find any fatx drives!
maybe xplorer360 is my problem!

see i never looked in my computer...i just seen it detected it and went on....now it detecteed and said it didnt detect the fatx or whatever it is but worked fine...now im working on my second one any chance that you know where toe epprom is hiddin at?

i am not sure where it is, should be in one of your partitions though! but what i was told, all you should have to do now, since you have xplorer360 working, is dump the corrupt files where they must go, or if your hdd is unlocked, you could use the link that i supplyied from tech freaks and just rebuild it! by the way, what version of xplorer are you using, and if you are planning to hotswap again, can you look in my computer to see if it shows up there!

dont know anything about jumpers...all i did is what i said step for step...but noow i got the dashbored error gone...but i think it is screwed....becasue it wont read cds and it has no saves on it!or no room....in xbox360 explorer it says only 0-3 partions there was a 4th but now there isnt

the way i understand it, if your hdd is unlocked, you can hook it up to your pc, just your xbox hard drive as only hard drive in your pc, boot from the cd or dvd you just made following the instructions, then you should be able to!

ok 2 out of 3 fixed....ty guys....3rd 1 boots up fine....but in xbox360 xplorer it has no 4th partion and it ssays no room on hdd....what can i do?
