Here she is. I'm sure I'm gonna get criticism on the PSU :p It's modular, plenty of power, and I could care less about noise, so didn't factor it. While others say that the 550W can handle a lot, I really don't like the idea of coming close to fully taxed, if you get me LOL! At least with this one, I know Its flexible. As well as 85% efficiency :D Plenty of sata connectors as well.

I may not buy today. Probably monday. Not liking the price LOL! But I suppose every component is High grade. I really should buy another PSU. The OCZ is good, but it's not great! And my new system is gonna be even more hungry LOL!
Plus I still wanna consider the SSD!!!

I just installed one of these for a customer, last week.

Overall it looked good, but the tray is very flimsy! Rattles, opening and closing! I'm happy with my AD-7220s and my AD7420s. I also fixed the duff 7240s I got from the egg, so now I have two of them. Cold solder joint was the problem!

Need? LOL! One I suppose. Unfortunately, A person never knows when ONE is gonna quit. I love having extras on hand. In my opinion, one is a joke. 2 is relatively safe. I suppose any more than 4 is overkill though :p

Omega: Well, your call really. All I'll say is I hope you'reoverclocking the CPU and using at least two 6+6 pin graphics cards.
Of course you don't need me to point out that's $474 on a CPU/board/RAm combination. You can get an i5 750 with a P55-UD4P and faster RAM for that. The advantage of AMD systems is they're cheap, perhaps you're overdoing it? Just a thought...

As for the ODDs, I agree with Shaff. One per system is too many, One between all your systems is enough. After all, who burns discs any more?
The CD/DVD/BluRay/whatever is definitely an out-of-date technology.

Overdoing it! LOL! The board is required for Triple Crossfire, The Cpu is necessary (To me), The ram I really haven't given much thought. Its latency is good at an affordable price, 4gb is lower than I'd like to be, but I'll cope for now. And the G-Skill is cheaper than Mushkin(Which I like dearly). Though for a few extra pennies, I could go with the Mushkin, and decrease the latency :D

Buy an HD5970 and have done with it... Saves a lot of faff, power cables and so on... :P

I'll say the same thing that i say at work, hard drive technology (especially hard drives/RAID etc), even Netapp technology is excellent and everything, but hard drives still fail; i build and support RAID systems for a living and at home i swear by loads of hard drives (not RAIDed), they can still fail, so some kind of backup technology (that isn't a hard drive) is still essential for me. At work it's still some kind of tape technology, over and above data being mirrored to remote sites, etc etc. So while i agree that optical discs are old fashioned they are still necessary for me for the foreseeable future. I won't use any RAID at home because i don't want extra 'redundant' drives up and spinning just for when one or more of the other drives fail, it's great technology at work but overkill for me for home use. Plus rebuild time is chronic, it just doesn't appeal. But i hear you as to why optical is old fashioned tech :)

So your suggesting, That I go with This lesser freak of technology LOL! Which would probably appeal to me, if it had dual lan. But, it's not just that. tri-crossfire COULD be appealing to me down the road. Not sure. Sorta planning ahead. I know I'm gonna have this board a while. Perhaps you're right though. A lan card can be bought cheap, and a powerful GPU/s can really hit the spot ;)

A genuine Thank you Sam, for making me reconsider my options. Sometimes I can't help but shoot for the best of the best LOL! Minus the i5/i7 builds ;) I'll probably be searching for other ways to save money over the weekend, and be looking at SSD drives.
1. I don't know when Western digital is gonna send the replacement/repaired drive.
2. I now have the excuse I needed to go SSD :)
And when I sell the Velociraptor, it'll help financially. Anyone interested, drop me a PM.

It's not just the Lan, but you are giving up 2 16x PCIE slots for two that only do 8x8 when paired in crossfire, plus you lose a third 8x PCIE! I would get the better board if you are entertaining the thought of future crossfire!

Yeah I was thinking about that, and probably will since the case I want to put this all in isn't out yet either. Only problem is multiple crashes a day get's old really fast lol.

All I'm going to say is my TX750 cost 80$ ;P Sure modular is nice but is it really worth the extra money?

Only time I've ever owned more than one ODD is back when dvd's were still relatively new so I the old cd only reader/burner was lying around.

gotta have at least 4 in your tower at all times. no questions asked.
and there is a ton of people who burn disc. if not the disc companys would be going out of business. oh they are TY had to team up with JVC to make a nickle...lol

NOW Sammy... what kind of question/statement is that?? lol. You know that a lot of people burn discs for whatever reason and besides we don't all have the time/money to do a networked system like you have or the others for that matter. :p Of course creaky still burns discs now and then plus has some sort of freakish network setup too!! :p

i jsut have HDDs to back the movies/tv onto and another with fat32 formatting so i can play 720p/1080ps on my PS3.
plus since getting into 1080p vids, and the cheapness of HDDs, DVDs are too small. now blu rays, when i get a burner ill probably use.

Oman, do you use heavily multithreaded apps? if so go for the amd setup as you will be able to upgrade to a 6 core processor unlike with lga 1156

is there a newegg distrubution center in the midwest area? my parts are already in memphis tenn. thats where my case came from. ithought there was only the 2 centers 1 in jersey and 1 in california????

I am aware of the 16X 16X slots. I've decided(while at work), that I doubt I'll ever be the enthusiast that some people are. Like sam for instance. Perhaps somewhat of an enthusiast. But nowhere near it. I think i'm more toward the "Creaky" side of things. In that, I'm ok with lesser graphics, if they work. Perhaps Dual GPU's would be cool one day. I think 8X 8X will be an ok start for me. Besides, I'm more interested in jumping on the "SSD" side of things :D If I can skimp on a few things, I just may be able to pony up some more dough! LOL!
Shaff, the 6 cores do sound appealing :D I can think of a few apps that may benefit from it. And I'm sure, some of the larger application designers will catch wind of 6 core processors on the market, and adjust their software accordingly. Heck, I guarantee BD Rebuilder will become 4-6core capable then :D

Omega: The 790FX chipset is still recommended over the GX if you want crossfire later on, but unless you're going to be crossfiring dual cards, it's still not much to worry about.
Maw: The 750W TX was never $80, that must have been one impressive deal you got...
Intel's 6-core CPUs will be for socket LGA1366. They will not, however, be released on LGA1156 as far as I'm aware.
