I have two dvd burners. How do I setup DVDXcopy to backup from one drive to the other?

Thanks,

Jayaboman,

It's been a such a long time since I used DvdXCopy, so here goes from what I remember.

XCopy should detect both drives. Put the source disc in one and the blank media in the other. I have a rom drive/burner combination, but I assume the same for 2 burners.

Xpress..When you press the start (to begin reading) a little box will come up with something like "DvdXCopy has detected blank media, would you like to automatically burn Yes/No". Choose Yes. Nothing else, walk away and wait til the tray opens.

Platinum....after it reads you have to press the start button to burn.

@Jayboman,

You may have to run "Drive Select" to tell DvdXCopy which drive to burn with.

The program is telling me to run Drive Select. Why does this happen?

Answer: When this happens it is because DVDXCopy Platinum is not recognizing the burner on your computer. To run drive select do the following. Go to the Start Menu Go to Programs (in XP it?s All Programs) Go to DVD X Copy Platinum Click on the DriveSelect option Select your DVD burner from the list. If no window appears, this is normal. It simply means that you only have one available burner and the program will select it automatically.

Thanks for the help! I'll give that a try. What I'm aiming for is basically a one step operation. That is, put the disk to be backed up in one drive and the blank in the other, and as soon as the original is ripped, the program will burn the blank one.

Jayboman,

DvdXcopy Xpress RF was 2 clicks, 3 with ripper but you had that 321Splash screen. Program is now outdated , especially with the faster burners/media, there is no control to reduce speed. Of course, DvdXCopy can't rip some of the newer dvds.

I had great success with DvdXCopy and still use it occassionally. I just redid my "Cars" with Xpress to see if the multiangles came up, but haven't had the time to look it over.

AnyDvd/CloneDvd has more clicks, but is very easy for the novice and the results are every bit as good as DVDXCopy. I, along with many others, are quite happy with it. If you find something else, let us know.

Good Luck

Thanks again.

DVDXCopy seems to work fine, thus far. If I can go back to a better old version of Nero (darn error!) I may go back to DVD Shrink. But then, OTOH, maybe I'll give your other method a try.
