Just buy a Dual Layer DVD, patch the full Rogue galaxy iso with Toxic's patch and burn on the dual layer dvd. load swap magic, then load hdloader, then load dual layer rogue galaxy. PLAY!

thanks mega for saying that, but this has become a personal issue. I want to prove to myself that i can rip this game. Im sure some of you think that my opinion is stupid, but i really do like helping people. I have wasted 16 taiyo yudens to this point, and i am willing to waste another 20. I just want to help you guys, and show Sony that they are shit and making DVD9 games is total bullshit and will be cracked sooner or later.

Svtstang, I think more people should say things like that. fansubbers, rippers, crackers... Everyone is acting for the community, not for the fame (there is no real fame behind an internet alias). BUT nobody dares to say it.
You said it. Thanks.
I'm not trying to make friends here or motivate you or whatever, I even registered after I saw your thread.
So keep doing it. Maybe one day I'll finish this bloody game, and it will be thanks to you (and others).
This is community, I think.

Thank for that quaisoir, you have it right. This is a community, and only trying this out for the less fortunate swap magic users (im one also).

Honestly i think it is the file order.....extracting the lba positions from apache you get this

LBA SIZE(bytes) PATH/FILENAME

which is in no way close to the way we have been attempting to rebuild this game. I will try again within a couple hours using this format and rebuiling the 0_1 dat and header files. Although there is no way to recreate this setup on a DVD5, ill mess around a bit and see if it does anything......i assume it will make no difference, but hey, what the hell lol

edit (talking to myself)

So in short, usy gnie's tool to ex/reb data 0_1 big file and table file, dummy the movies from 1-7, 97, and the staff movie

based on the lba table, here is the order

system
modules
data0_1.dat
data0_0.hd6
data0_1.hd6
scus
data0_0.dat
rgdmy
movie
data1_1.dat
data1_0.hd6
data1_1.hd6
rgsys
bin
data1_0.dat

I havent tried it yet (and doubt it will even boot) but going by the lba tables that is the correct order. And of course, all the files are from layer1 (except system, slus, and modules). I pretty much gurantee this will result in a coaster for your favorite alcholic beverage, but ill try anyways.

Im trying, close to quiting though! Dont have many dvd's left :(

Ok, so the damn game works, but still no factory!!!! I dont get it, i think someone with hexediting skills needs to preform some magic and figure out how to change the layer0 BIN folders name to something else in the DVD9....cause I sure as hell dont know how to do it. That is the only thing my feeble mind can think of.

Is there a way to access the factory WITHOUT using the option when you hit triangle or whatever??? Can you go to factory and do whatever you do there some other way???

heres a VERY GOOD IDEA,

look someone should download the JAP game of rouge galaxy and swap some files around , the data files in the jap game of rouge galaxy should be different size maybe smaller ^^ (liek those data files), i mean if we did trial and error by swapping those files around until we got a good fixed game than whats the problem,

the onyl probablem is if you are wanting to swap files you need to have the right tv seeting i mean, i dont hink you can swap a game that works on NTC or wahtever its called , and swap files with PAL workign game...

im sure you could swap the movie folder in the jap and US version of the game, and firgure out form the old nuked game you proably download the buttons and where the items taks bar on the menu is , because you prabobly dont read chines or japanese, anways the proabbaly with that is if you talk to some one its in japanese, or you could like a said trial and error, swap files around liek the data files....dunno could work, any volunteers its proabbly our only shot, but probably has a million out of 1 cahnce of not working.. i think that the way you say it if something is not going to work, anywayz ......yeh....any comments?

Right i guess i should go back to my original problem with Xenosaga Ep1.

Right i've been trying to rip Xenosaga Ep1 using the Guide on page 16 here.

The first 2 discs come out perfect with the right file sizes and everything, but the 3rd disc always comes out too big.

It comes out over 2GB's where the 3rd disc in the guide is meant to be under 2GB's.

I've re-done everything lots of times my original DVD9 iso is the right size and stuff, so i can't for the world of me figure out why my 3rd disc keeps coming out so big?.

Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong?, or post a guide to make the 3rd disc manually, or even post the content and their file sizes on you're 3rd discs.

I really hope someone can help me here.

Ok i went to the gamefaqs gamboard, and got some answers about the factory....btw PEOPLE THERE ARE THE BIGGEST RETARDS EVER

According to some of them, the factory is not necessary....you can make that little frog guy make all your weapons.

So it looks like im finally done with this game. End result is a fully working disk 1 (including the factory) and a disk 2 with full sound, voiceovers, everything...minus the factory and perhaps insectron.

I quit!

The factory works fine in the rip of the second layer with the teleportation freezes, I'm not sure about the Insectron battles though. So if you absolutely have to use the factory, just burn a third disk and pop that one in when you want to build something.
