What was the beta second layer rip again? Was it just dummying data0_1 + movies w/o rebuilding the LBA?

People care, i just dont! Here is a simple guide, ill add pics later if it is really necessary, i hope it isnt.
DISK 1
1.Extract the iso with apache
2.Dummy the following files. DL this file, stick it in your system 32 folder (my computer-windows-system32) http://rapidshare.com/files/16839486/ZeroFile.dll
run this from the run bar regsvr32.exe /s /c ZeroFile.dll
Now when you right click a file, you will see the option to "replace with dummy" so here is what you are dummying
MOVIES
8-13,98,99
.DAT
Dummy DATA1_1.DAT
3.Now open up cd dvdgen and put the files in this order
make sure to go to the volume tab and enter SCUS-97490 under disk name and PLAYSTATION in the Producer name box. Once that is done, go to file-export iml. Save the iml to the same folder where are the files are at.
4.Open up iml2iso, click open, then select the iml you just made. Now hit the iml2iso button that just lit up, wait 5-6 mins, there is your iso.
5.Burn and play. NOTHING WILL BE MISSING FROM THIS DISK.
THIS DISK ENDS AFTER THE BATTLE WITH SEED. IMMEDIATELY SAVE AT THE FIRST SAVE POINT ON YOUR AIRSHIP!
DISK 2
1.Extract the data again using apache. (you getting bored yet?) LOL
2.Time to dummy some more files. This is a bit more complicated then disk one. I am sure just right clicking and dummying will work, but I didnt try it that way. I used Expert2 with the Rogue Galaxy plugin to Extract the file, dummy, then rebuild. Get it here http://rapidshare.com/files/16841390/Rogue.rar
Here is how its done.
Open xpert2, go to tools-addon plugins, and stick the rogue galaxy in there. Restart xpert2. AFTER EACH STEP CLOSE XPERT2 AND REOPEN IT
a.Open it, select the RG plugin plugin. For big file, select data0_1.dat and for table file select data0_1.hd6. Push 1 in the top left.
b.Select the same files, this time push 2. This will make a new folder with all the files from the .dat in it. Open that folder, select them all, then dummy them. This will take a while, there are over 5,000 wav files.
c.Select the same files AGAIN, this time press 3.
d.Select the same files YET AGAIN, now press 4. You will get 2 new files (new data0_1.dat and new data0_1.hd6. Delete the original two files, then rename the new files to what the originals were (just delete the "new" or whatever it says.) Done with this crap.
MOVIES
Dummy 1-7, 97, and the "staff" mvi in folder 99.
3.Open up cd dvd gen, and you can either put them in hursty's order or mine. Both work. Here is my order
system
modules
data0_1.dat
data0_0.hd6
data0_1.hd6
scus
data0_0.dat
rgdmy
movie
data1_1.dat
data1_0.hd6
data1_1.hd6
rgsys
bin
data1_0.dat
I based this on the lba table, and it works. Enter the scus again as well with PLAYSTATION, export the iml to the folder with the files.
4.Open up iml2iso again, load the iml, hit the button. My iso came out to be like 4.36 gigs, pretty much maxed out.
5.Burn
Thats all there is too it folks. The factory DOES NOT work, INSECTRON might not work, i havent played so I dont know. Please report any other major bugs. Sound, voiceovers, movies, teleporting all work on disk 2.

OMG....dude look at my pic i just posted....why do you go back to posts and pics that have 0 relevance??? Either dummy it or not. In my last pic 1_1 isnt even there!! Guess why!!??? A dummy file takes up 0-1 KB!!
ugg
EDIT
You need to read bro...i put that pic in that you are talking about to show file order...
Quote: 3.Now open up cd dvdgen and put the files in this order

you guys hurt my head you know that??? :p
Look at my pic....that is how big my iso is with everything i mentioned dummied. I can tell from your pic that you messed up. You are using the layer1 00 folder instead of layer0 00 folder...that counts for 100+ megs.
Let me extract my DVD-9 FOR THE 19293930230 time and post a pic...give me like 30 mins.
Also tell me your iso size. Drag all your files in Nero and tell me the size in megs please.

I know what I'm doing and I too end up with a disc 1 file that exceeds a DVD. I think it's you that has done something you haven't mentioned. For a start you said dummy movies 8-13, there isn't even a 08 movie folder on layer 0, it's on layer 1.

@too all who are having issues for god knows why
HERE IS MY DISK 1.......COMPARE YOURS TO MINE....SEE HOW IT SAYS 4344 MEGS?????
And yes, data1_1 isnt in there cause it is 1kb and that isnt going to affect much for the sake of showing you my file sizes.
See my movie folder????????
Here i go again
DUMMY DATA1_1.dat
MOVIES: 8-13 (EVEN IF THERE ISNT AN 8), 98, 99
If you guys cant do that there is nothing i can do, sorry.
@applecorp

I edited it because I forgot to say the 08 folder wasn't on layer 0, which it isn't, re-write your guide, it's inaccurate.

Disk 1 is layer0.....makes a bit of sense NOT HAVE IT ON DISK 1 THEN DOESNT IT?? BTW you dont know what your doing, or you wouldnt have to edit posts to put in new information. God i hate noobs
Good luck all, appletard just convinced me not to care anymore.

Nah im not calming down. I have been posting on this for a while, not to mention waste a fat stack of dvds....not for myself but for other people. Sorry if i refuse to spoonfeed everybody, what I said is accurate, and works fine.
Im just gonna edit out the guide out tomorrow, i have more important things to do then helping you get a video game to work. Just buy the damn game and you wont have to worry about it! I have posted screenshots of my files as well as what i have done, I cant do a damn thing if some of you cant do the same. User error, not mine.
@anybody who cares, ask me at XS.....need an aD break.

svtstang, you've done a lot of work on this game for other people, thanks so much for the guide and all the time you've spend on it...
I haven't really been following the efforts to rebuild rogue galaxy for DVD5s...so sorry if this question is a little noobish
the movies that you dummy...what do they contain? are they like extras or bonus features or they part of the main game/storyline? I personnally won't usually play a game if there is anything missing from the main game...

Buying the game would be pointless seeing as I live in a PAL region (UK). Short of getting my PS2 chipped or buying a US PS2 it's currently impossible for me to play the full game.
I applaud your efforts but please try to be not so abusive. I'm not a retard or a noob.

Okay. I understand the guide for Rogue Galaxy fine, even though I'm pretty new to this, but I have one problem;
It seems like I'm only getting half of the files I need when I open the ISO with ANY program (Apache, WinRAR, etc.). For example, I don't have the DATA0_1.DAT/.HD6 files, nor movies 8-13, 98 or 99.
Any idea what's going on, and how to fix it? x_x

@ LuzaMink:
do you have 6 or 4gb size iso? since the smaller one doesnt include disc 2.. I did it with apache, and i got layer 1 (disc2).. I just can't remember how :D
