Since this is the pc gaming thread, I'll ask here
Is there anyway to increase the resolution of games past what they offer in options.
For example, when I play most wanted I can't get it higher than 1024x768, when I actually want it to run at my native resolution of 1280x800, same for HL2 (I think)
Any ideas??
PS - Do any of you use controllers/gamepads??
Which ones??

hey Ray92 glad to see you here.
about the native res, i see that you game on a 15" laptop, therefore the game only recognize your 15" and not your native res for the laptop. That is what i think, because i never gamed on laptops before.
I've mentioned about the controller in "Our" thread

I was reading this thread for some time and decided to join, more people so more opinions/feedback
You are probably right about it being due to screen size, but most other games do allow me to crank it up to the max res, wonder why these don't??
Also, which controllers guys??? (apart from you GTR35 :P)

hd4850 or 8800gt or the new gtx260.
ive seen COD4 on a gtx260 with a E8400 sweet....also cryis on the same rig... you all gonna make me spend this money to get one aint ya???lol

The max res, is 1280x800, just for the record, even mercenaries 2 won't let me make it higher then 1024x768

4850 outperforms the 8800gt for sure, not too sure how it rates against the gtx260

cod5 is based on cod4s infinity ward engine, so i dont think there will be anything bad, and on ign they were showing the multiplayer, seems brilliant.
also jack bower is in it!!!! AMAZING
ill order the collectors edition again, just like i did with COD4.
wonder if the PC will get CO-OP mode?

Game resolution is a game by game thing. If you're thinking of the old starcraft or diablo games than there's no such luck. There are quite a few older games where you can edit the .ini's to open up larger resolutions. The textures won't be any better, but you'll see a larger area.
If -none- of your games are letting you hit your max resolution, than you have problems.

@cincyrob HD4850 pwns both cards. HD4850 hands down, but if you could get the 1GB one it will rock you like theres no tomorrow.

COD5 is looks sick but don't know if it's sicker then COD4, because it's another WWII game...

The resolution issue is due to the games not a problem with the screen because I play a number of games at max. resolutions.
Which console (or pc) was Fallout 3 leaked for?????
