Ive just got this phone from ebay...need some questions answered...
- does it have updates
- Whats the MP4 quality like
- and can i install java applications on there
Would appriciate some help has i am a complete noob to this type of phones.
not bad for a Iphone replica

Recently bought a Cect P168.not a bad phone.paid 200 australian for it.Screen is beautiful and camera not bad full screen view is nice,comes with telescopic stylus built into case to navigate phone menus.
Bad points for me is that they didn t allow a normal headphone jack( poor quality nokia style edge connecter headphone with built in mic ..sounds crap....)although you can use bluetooth headphones) and video quality on the demo videos are a bit poor.build quality is ok solid enough..tugged with the battery cover when new until it loosened a bit.Camera with no flash is crap at night.dont even go there.
Its a phone with a full screen video audio player.Yet to determine video quality.6 onboard speakers means its very loud good when in the pub with your mates showing dodgy movie clips.
This is not a pda.There is a notes and calender function like any nokia but thats about it.Put it in a flip case and it looks very good.
does anyone know what resolution and what screen size to covert the video output files to when im transferring movies and can i output large files to memory card 1 meg+?.what software is best for this?

but my stupid iphone cect 168 don't read my files mp4 why?
what program you use to convert video to mp4?

i just had some questions. does some one know where i can download games? or other apps for it? i think that the winavi converter should work, converts ipod and psp, try it see if it works?
does the wap mean that i can connect to the wireless router that i have at home?

i already find the right converter is (Xilisoft 3GP Video Converter)
and the iphone read only 3GP (176x144) codec h263.

I bought the tri-band of the p168..it works perfect ..I was just wondering if anyone knew how to get more themes for more colors and also how to change the wap setting for some reason I cant get online..but other than that I love this phone...

you just can get online by GSM conection cause is unlocked, GPRS/3G no cause isn't unlocked.

i have purchased the CECT P168, but it does not seem to work? i inserted my GSM Card with Rogers Wireless Canada... and it says, "No Service". Can anyone please help me:D?

verizon is a CDMA network, not a GSM in the usa.

omg.. i finally got all the seeting to work on my phone..lol..includding yahoo mobile..I have the setting for tmobile if any one needs help..the wap and mms all work fine now..

I own the CECT P168 phone and seeing there is not much info on it, I believe something should be done! That's why I'm currently building a freeforums.org for discussion of the CECT P168 "iPhone clone" and want everyone who also has this device to share experiences, difficulties, and views on it.

Guys if you want my opinion sell this phone back on ebay....i have never come across a phone that is so limited with flexibility.
The only thing you can do with this phone is put pictures, music and some crappy films thats it.

I do not agree. It's far from the original I-phone but it's worth the price. It's smart and it has all the options of a "conventional" phone. If you want more options or flexibility, look forward to a phone that is more expansive.
With a forum like this one, we should discover other possibilities of this chinese phone.

Hey
this is great.the magic of the blog...
I ve had my Cect P168 for over a month now and haven t had any
problems. After desperate attempts to put video onto it using iphone
conversion software, I finally managed with friends help to find Imtoo
agp video converter to use for video conversion. (Use settings 176 x
144 on mpeg 4 video). I converted some music videos and its a simple
job of drop and drag files on windows to install them on the phone.The
video was good but not a patch on ipod video quality. the picture
pixelates and the animation isn t fluid like i guess the iphone will
be.but saying that it is reasonable and i could watch video on it
quite easily..
I bought my phone from china and its apparently an 8GB model,does
anyone know what that means. does it mean onboard memory? or does it
mean i can up the flash memory to 8GB.I d love to know how much flash
memory i could put in the slot.
The gripe i have is with the supplied headphones.I am a bit of an
electronics geek and Im considering putting a headphone socket into
my phone.the usb headphone supplied sounds awful. I was considering
taking audio connections direct from the back of the usb connection
on the phone and mounting a headphone socket into the top of the cect
p168 case if there is room. What do you think. I m not bothered about
voiding warranties. I Just wanna use ipod headphones or any other with
my phone and enjoy mp3 sound etc.
Apart from that have had a lot of fun with it and i recommend it
but dont buy one if you think you re buying iphone..Hey to all the
Aussies go Queenslander..
