I want to avoid using NeroRecode or Nero period... and currently my DVD shrink doesn't work on Rendition with Anydvd... I tried Ripit4Me and that too errors out... I'm running Vista; ever since I upgraded to vista (if you can call it that) Ripit4me has been nothing but a headache.

I am having the same problem with Rendition.
Using the latest AnyDvd, with Roxio 8 and running Win Xp. I have tried DVD shrink as well and it comes back with an error message.

Ok, i got it to work.
I used anydvd 6.3.1.5 and clonedvd 2 (had to upgrade clonedvd 2 to 9.0.9 version) it would not work with the 9.8.5
Good luck

Why avoid a perfectly good combo (AnyDVD and Recode) especially when you are having trouble with Shrink and Ripit4me? Recode is written by the same guy who wrote Shrink and it works so well with AnyDVD and IMHO is a better program than shrink.
I just tried Shrink with AnyDVD and ripit4me by itself. Errored out on both. I didn't try Fab I'm sure it would work by now. Recode had no trouble!!!
Edit: Fab worked fine

DVD FAB Platnium 4.0.5.0 (been out a while) worked fine for main movie only - even fits on a DVD-5 with no compression if you strip excess audio tracks and subtitles.
Quick rule of thumb - You can usually tell the DVD has strange structural problems if Windows Explorer says the DVD has a size greater than 8GB (Rendition was 8.48).

I have been attempting to rip a back up of "Rendition" using Mac the Ripper (to DeCSS) on my Mac. Although I know this thread is based on PC ripping, I couldn't help but want to ask anyone here if they know or heard of a current ripper for Mac to use with Roxio Titanium 8. My problem with Mac the Ripper 2.6.6 is that no sooner that I load the DVD, MTR immediately starts a series of warning stating that the IFO and the BUP files are not balanced. Then comes a series of other warning regarding BUP and IFO not matching up. I did change the preferences by deselecting all the options and tried it again only to receive the same kind of warning screens. I figure MTR 2.6.6 just will not work for this new "bad sectoring" used on "Rendition." Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Wow that actually removed parts of the movie. It "looked" clean and the run time was even but just skipped parts of the movie. This was the 1st time a thread in these forums was NOT helpful. So unhelpful I had to subscribe and let you know.
This way did NOT work. However, I did use DVDFAB HD Decrypter instead.
AnyDVD and Shrink didnt work
DVD Decryptor didnt work
RipitForMe didnt work
DvdFAB HD DEcryptor with fixvts removed parts of the movie.
I guess Clone dvd and/or NeroRecode are next. I need to get the software for either/both of those. Any freeware links?

Just finished watching this movie 30 mins ago. Never thought it would end. Slow draggy and no action. The back up with AnyDVD and NeroRecode was perfect 100% movie only. I could not think of a worse thing to do than watch the bonus portion. This one was a stinker. No wonder they can recruit suicide bombers so easily.
