digivox xl ,keeps rebooting

Hi can anyone help please, this is my first post on this site so be gentle with me.I have a 10 month old digivox xl and it keeps turning it self off(rebooting )at least 3 times every day where when i first had it,it was maybe once per week. any help would be greatly appreciated.

what vers/firmware are u running on box,menu-system info-ok-vers-???
possible u have v.1220,u will need to update to v.1230 to stop box rebooting.

Hi cacktikid jus checked,it is v12-2000 where do i get the update from,and how do i install on my Digivox please.

do a search for digivox tut in blue section underneath -navigation that will bring u to what to do,u will need downloader and XL FILE V.1230,the xl files are for black box,whereas digivox is for silver box,do not put wrong files in.so 2 things to download the downloader and file v.1230.hopefully u have xp pc and serial port and null modem cable for flashing/updating.

i will have a look for it as i thought eamo had it must bo oggnogg.i clicked on the tut file went to download and there is the link for v1230 in oggnoggs library

ok cactikid i,m on to it .I,ve got the tutorial ...and the firmware update v1230....just sorting out the RS232 cable,will get back to you later.

hi when changing ver1220 to 1230 should it still say ver 1220 on box

already answered it should say v1230,if it is a new box it wont work as problem has been fixed u will get chdl=bad flash.

hi cacti kid went through the tut step by step and unfortunately there was a message on box "chdl".Tried several times to d/load v1230 but kept saying "fail to update flash"it seems as if it's frozen ,even when connected to TV.Just to say also,i used the RS232 cable and not the null cable modem that you mentioned(could'nt borrow one )does this matter and the reason it don't work?

also noticed on tut it says Browse for bin file(digivox_z20070101v2500_api)is this different to the one on your link?

that tut was made for digivox 2007 model silver box as ur box is xl black on no account use those files use only xl files.
is ur xl box new as vers 1230 will not load and chdl will come up on display.other thing to do is try a factory reset first,reflash with v1220 and scan for channels and emu to on.is ur unit well ventilated?

as i said when i turn on the Digivox it dont respond to the remote control it just displays "chdl" so i cant try a factory reset,can i just flash v1220 and see what happens?

Hi Cactikid just reflashed box with v1220,and it seems to be alright(touch wood)so maybe theres a problem with v1230 that you gave me the link for i nee to connect it back to the t.v.before i can check 100%.What do you suggest i do, if its ok,with v1230?

v1230 was brought out for problem on older xl box for rebooting but it will not load on new xl as u get chdl on display,so u need to factory reset first then flash u r box with v1220 and auto scan ur provider and emu to on,so u did reflash at least we know the cable works.hook up to tv and rescan and emu to on and report back.
