You save a lot on shipping these days if you get it all from one place (plus it's easier). Try all these sites, of all the ones that have all the components you want (if none do, obviously you'll have to compromise, for my last order I went with Overclockers and Scan) try:
http://www.ebuyer.com - massive wholesaler, cheap prices on some items, not so cheap for others!
http://www.savastore.com - Had some good deals from them in the past, their website's currently down.
http://www.aria.co.uk - good company to deal with
http://www.scan.co.uk - professional company, huge warehouse, decent prices, not always quick deliveries
http://www.overclockers.co.uk - Often some good deals to be had, but beware, recently their deliveries have been very late (1 week + on next day delivery)
http://www.dabs.com - good experiences in the past
http://www.misco.co.uk - not dealt with them, but good word of mouth
there are a few retailers I know, of. Above all avoid http://www.microdirect.co.uk - after experiencing their business practices they don't deserve anyone's business!

Unfortunately, prices change day by day, so you'll have to visit a few of them and the products to the basket and see how much it all come to. I switch back and forth between companies because one gives me a better deal at the time of purchase. Misco is the only company out of those listed that I haven't used.

Cases like that have openable doors that cover the drive bays. For that case:
Here is where the drive bays are...
and the front USB ports are located on the right hand side.

Yep, those pictures are for that case. That Power supply should fit fine and is a good brand.

OK thank you, regarding the cpu and motherboard, I decided to get the intel core 2 duo e6600 and the motherboard I read the previous post and you recommended the asus p5wd-h deluxe but scan.co.uk does not do it so I came up with http://www.scan.co.uk/search/search.asp?criteria=asus+p5wd which is two different ones so which one is better.
Again the same noob question is the cpu and motherboard all compatible with the list so far.

I have to confess I've not seen that board before. It should be compatible with the E6600 as it uses the 975X chipset.

All good choices. Cables usually come with your motherboard and power supply, so don't worry about that.

Maybe at stock settings but the 4200 will run rings around the D-940 overclocked. I know, I have a D-940 and sam's got a 4200! His Sandra scores are a lot better than mine.

Quote: Sound card - Again music will be listened to but gaming will be rare so I think this one will do but not sure. http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductIn...roductID=503577
Again as I stated earlier, most good mobos come with quit good onboard audio (asus anyway). I know the P5W DH Deluxe does. I run klipsch desktop speaker system (one of the best desktop speaker manufactures there is) and could see no reason for a sound card upgrade. Onboard audio sounds great. Just trying to save you some money. You don't have to listen to me though. It's your money.
Quote: Cables - Will I need any cables since I'm new to this, so cables eg socket cables, motherboard cables etc.
I do recomend buying round cables for your IDE drives and floppy if you use one. The ribbon cables that come with the mobo clutter up your case, restrict air flow, aren't near as flexible, and are not cosmetically pleasing.

No need to spend good money on pre fab rounded cabling as they are ofet just flat ribbon cables folded in sach a way to wrap then and make them more atractive. You can do this yourself and even be more creative. Also if done right, you may choose not to wrap em at all as they tend to hold their shape well if folder in quarters like "W", or you my wrap in a wide choice of color UV treated net for a lighting effect. Then the rounded cables that come as stripped ribbon (80 wires bundled together) are often cased in a stiff rubber that is usually to stiff to manage and will require tying off to keep it from flopping out of place as they don't hold a bend that well. Just something to consider, No change to performance, just ease of install and added apearence.

Someone who braids his own cables, I'm much too lazy for that! Having said that, I am contemplating UV braiding my PSU cables. Most of them are modular so it'll be a doddle to do. Might order that along with a Thermalright HR-03 and Nexus 92mm case fan for my Graphics card.

I'll gladly spend a dollar or two on some round ide cables especially on a $1,000-1,500 build.
