My R4 SDHC card worked fine for about a week with the firmware (1.25 www.r4sdhc.com) that was available on the website I bought it from. After that I got the "loading..." error. I use a 2gb SanDisk SD card of which I am sure is not a fake and is working.

I have tried simply every solution that is mentioned in this entire topic and I now I'm only struggling with the question if weither my R4 card is malfunctioning or the DS Lite itself.

Here's a list of all the things I've tried after I got the error (chronological order):

- I deleted the firmware and put the very same firmware on my R4, but that didn't work.

- I tried to format the SD in several different ways and every time I did this I put the firmware (of which I know works) on the card and tried it, but that didn't work either.

- I've tried alot of different types of firmwares from different sites and for other types of R4 cards(e.g. the 'normal' R4 and the R4Ultra) while formatting the card every time I put another type of firmware on it, but that failed too.

- After that I put a piece of cartboard between the SD card and the R4 reader to see if it had a connection issue, but STILL with no succes. I also opened the R4 card to check if anything 'inside' it was broken, but it all seemed fine.

- Then I tried to insert another, thicker 'DaneElec' SD card (1gb) with the working Firmware on it to see if it that was the problem.
Again with no succes even though this card worked perfectly on my phone and on my computer!

- Now I am really getting frustrated.. this is taking alot of my free time and I really miss playing my games on the DS (even though it was 2 days)

Any advice or help would be appreciated, thanks in advance =]

Hi Japanees,
I have a solution for you......get a nice big hammer and smash it to pieces...cause i have done everything you have and mine still dont work...i am now gonna get a cycloDS evolution as it was recommended to be the best one out there ,they are more expensive than the r4 for but it is still cheaper than buying loads of games i will hopefully be getting mine next week

I think you have exhausted all the options, put the R4 down to experiance and get something else, although the cyclods is a great card, I find Me Real, running Sakura firmware to be the best by far at the moment

@tamara 144

I don't think that'll solve anything ;p I'm just being rational.. I live in the Netherlands and over here we have the right of getting back our money within 1 week of a purchase. I'm just going to buy a (cheaper) genuine R4 with the money I get back :p. These always work fine and never have such problems. I think that's the best solution.

PS. Don't choose a name like 'tamara 144' because everyone knows: RULE 30 : There are no girls on the internet. =]

hi all
if anyones interested ive just purchased a r4 card from the people that advertise them for £16 in this thread - www.cleverbase.co.uk .
when you click their link the price is actually now £16.99(when i clicked the £16 link last sunday it only charged me £15 so i think the price fluctuates)p+p to uk is £5.
before ordering i enlarged the photo to make sure it was not a r4sdhc card i discovered the box was for a r4 mk2 japanese version, however when it arrived (5 days) it was a standard r4 and a kingston 2gb micro sd,(albeit with no software cd as advertised)
10 minutes to install software i already had and chuck a few games on, and card was up and away with no hassle, no sd formatting, no grief trying out different software versions as with sdhc. etc etc

Would not advise anyone to buy from Cleverbase. I ordered an R4DS card on 14th Jan and they only sent it yesterday after I escalated my Paypal dispute to a full blown claim. From a websearch other people seem to be having problems as well - both currently and over the past 12 months.

My card came unsealed and the CD was missing, which personally I'm not happy with as the product was sold as containing this and on the basis that it was in stock for dispatch for next day delivery.

So in summary...buyer beware!

Hi

I have a R4 SDHC card which i bought from memorybits, the box it arrived in says it's from http://www.r4sdhc.com

I downloaded the software as recommended by memorybits and it doesn't work, I am quite new to this so don't know if i have done something wrong.

I have read through the whole of this forum and tried most of the links but still no joy.

Any help would be much appreciated - *** I have now contacted memorybits and they have agreed to give me a refund as they said the card is faulty, could anyone recommend where i can get one from that shoudl work***

Try something else - the R4 is always going to be a problem, there are 10 different versions all with dedicated software. Try an M3 Real, I use this without any issues.

Whatever card you get all the firmware is hosted on one site - see my signature for details.

Hi all,
Don't know if this is any use to anyone but I was also having problems getting the R4 sdhc working (stuck on loading screen) and noticed I wasn't alone! I tried all the advice I saw on a few pages of this thread (tried all the firmwares from 1.18 to 1.25 with no luck at all. The way I got it working was to install firmware version 1.52 for what I think may be the R4 ultra card. Here is the link to a place I found the files online at:
http://download.chipper.se/index.php?dir...ish.1.52_RP.rar
And if thats not the right one the folder I have on my machine is called English.1.52_RP so I'm asuming thats it.
If nothing else its worth a try!

I also have a m3simply card and for the record, its a lot easier.

Oh PS,
I also tried to put the games in a folder called games in the root directry and it wouldn't run (stuck on loading screen again) so I had to put the games straight into the root directory.

Good Luck!

Hi All,
Has the same problem and this helped me.
I have 4g card and I was getting stuck on th loading screen.
Go to http://www.yall.net/.
Download the R4-III v3.08 kernel (English) 3.08.
Thats all I did and it works fine, I beleive anything over 2g requires this softeware.
Put this on to the Micro SD card and you should be right.
Hope this helps

The Number one issue with the R4 sdhc is it will not work properly if formatted with VISTA, screws up all over the place and will read old data on the card. I have 2 r4sdhc with 8 gig micro sd.

This is what I did to fix both that kept screwing up.

Here is how you fix your r4 sdhc

Goto http://linfoxdomain.com/nintendo/ds/ and download the firmware 1.24 not 25, format the card using this tool http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/sd..._formatter.html because windows messes it up.

Load the contents of the zip onto the micro SDHC and create a folder called games and you are good to go.

i just followed these instructions and it worked perfect no more loading screen

put in the memory cards in to the computer and format the memory cards you must format them if you do not know how to format just google format memory card and it will show u very easy then.

you must go to

http://r4-new.com/download-en.htm and you must download the "R4 SDHC NEW V1.5 kernel"

you must use this software and get from the website above and everything should be fine

bought it from www.consolemodz.com only took 3 days delivery sweet
