I don't know just yet, but it's pretty extensive so I suggest you "warm-up" with rockbox first ;-)

I am thinking about putting Rockbox on my friend's iPod for him. The only problem is that he knows nothing about iPods, (besides how to put songs/videos on).
So my question is:
Will it be too hard for him to figure out how to put songs/videos/games on it himself after Rockbox is installed (without me standing over his shoulder)?
If it is, I will gladly do it for him, but I fear that it will be too difficult for him to remember how to do it. So would it be wise to install it on his, or would it be a waste? Keep in mind, he doesn't have any access to the guides about how to put files on.
I tryed to be as clear as I could with my question, lol. If you don't understand what I am trying to ask then please tell me so.
Cheers!!

Nope. If you know what you are doing then I am sure you can guide him - it is very simple :-)
You cannot play videos through the rockbox firmware, so you are better off booting the normal firmware for that. As for music playback, if you wish to listen to audio files that aren't compatible with the Apple firmware (for example, .ogg), and enjoy gapless playback, then the rockbox firmware is definetely for you. If you prefer your library perfectly organized, then again, I suggest you stick with the original Apple OS.
As for games, well there are many there to keep one occupied, and the link to the iDoom installation is in my above post. Obviously I will talk more about plugins etc once the iPodLinux tutorial is complete (So both sets of questions you may have can be covered in one section).

Wow, I did not know that. Is video playback capable with Linux?

It isn't as if you can no longer play videos, all you need to do is have your iPod load the original firmware. I believe it is with Linux just because it made video playback possible on previous generations.

#1. I already apologized numerous times
#2. I saw dg do it with his site and there were no comlaints
#3. It didn't deserve a permanent ban, maybe if anything, just a temp ban.

When I go to start-->run, then type cmd then press enter, the black box pops up but then immediately disappears. Why is this?

UNINSTALLING ROCKBOX FROM YOU IPOD
Assuming your iPod is connected to your computer..
<1> Start a Command Prompt. (Start --> Run & type in cmd & press Enter)
<2> In the command prompt, type the following,
c:
(press enter, and then type..)
cd \rockbox
(press enter, and then type..)
ipodpatcher -w * bootpartition.bin
remember, instead of the asterix (*), type in the number from step <7> in the installation tutorial
Press enter once more, and your iPod is now rockbox free..
