You have a HAF932 case? Excellent choice. It's what I call my insurance policy ;) It helps keep everything cool, insures their lifespan.
To delete, or not to delete. THAT is the question!

Yep that little dandy by Corsair is great.. I think that most of us have had one and I've heard NO one complain about it. ;) I use one for my little AMD 3800 and it's been going strong for a few years now. :D
Good luck and I think you'll like that PSU!! :)

Whysper I was sorta having a go at you about the PSU in the tower now.. ;) NO hard feelings really.. I know you're getting a proper PSU soon. :D
Sammy... I think with a little "better" psu and maybe some "different" lighting I could see that shade of green. :D :P

Need some advice on PSU's. I'm building a new rig with the following:
I7-875K CPU
Asus P7P55D-E PRO LGA 1156 P55 ATX Intel
OCZ DDR3 2GB PC3-10666 1333MHz Platinum XTC Dual Channel-> 6GB RAM
Seagate 2TB Sata3 HD
Cosair H70 watercooling system
Gigabyte GV-N470SO-13I NVIDIA GeForce GTX 470 1280MB GDDR5 PCIe 2.0 x16 Video Card
LG BR burner
ANTEC DarkFleet 85 Full tower case
What would be a good power supply to power this with? I'm partial to Thermaltake but open to suggestions..
Thanks in advance

A GTX470? All wrong, buy an HD6870 instead.
I'd say something like a Corsair VX 550W.
Also, you want 1600mhz memory instead of 1333 really.
I'd also suggest using a gigabyte board instead of the Asus, as Asus boards are often unreliable.

Perhaps he has his reasons for the GTX470(Lot of games are Nvidia biased, in which it's almost beneficial to purchase Nvidia). They appear to be similarly priced. Perhaps you should explain the performance gains eh? Or is it simply because the 6870 uses significantly less power, at a near equal performance? Totally the wrong thread for this LOL!
To delete, or not to delete. THAT is the question!

GTX470: Performance level 160. Power usage: 240W-270W variable. Noise level: High. Running temperature: 91-95C Expected lifetime: 2-3 years
HD6870: Performance level 170. Power usage: 150W. Noise level: Very Low. Running temperature 80-85C Expected lifetime: 5+ years

THAT might dissuade him LOL! Thanks sam ;) Though life of a component can be gained by cooling. Other than a fan problem, My 8600Gt is going strong. My GTX260 has been pampered in the cool haf932. And not everyone exhibits the hot temps. I've seen people hitting 60C peak on the 470. Their idles were around 26C. Probably significant cooling there though ;) Perhaps nvidia improv as well...

Asus is the hard option, very hard. Replacing motherboards every few months is very tiresome. My Gigabyte P55 board, along with several other people's, is faultless.

i would say choose 8GB of ram vs 6 (2x4gb sticks) and can that board to SLI?
does your video encoding use cuda, if so stick with nvidia. If not might aswell get the 6870/6950.
PSU, for futures sake of crossfire/sli either a seasonic or corsair 850W PSU.
everything else looks blessed.

Yes for LGA1155 systems you want dual channel memory, not triple channel. I'd recommend going with:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145324
If you're not going to go with a Gigabyte, can I tempt you into an MSI board instead? It pains me to see someone opening themselves to the pain and suffering of owning an Asus board!
As for the video card, whichever of these is the best you can afford [assuming you actually need this level of performance]
HD6850
HD6870
HD6950
HD6970
