Yeah it'll be able to run it, but you may have to sacrifice some settings depending on what resolution you run. At 800x600 you could probably max it out, higher resolutions and you'd have to start turning down the detail levels.

That's why I got an SLI board. I figured that an 8800GTX would be useful in dual configuration.
I'm thinking though. Should I sell my 8800 for like, $400? Then I could get 2 8800GTs as it would cost less, take up less power, and make cooling easier for me. It would be a definite improvement over my single 8800GTX...

You could, I suppose. Of course there's the risk that in a few games the new setup won't perform as well as the single GTX, but the number of games vulnerable to that doesn't seem that high these days.

800x600...wont that make everything big?...i have a 15" monitor so i can crank it up!...but with no AA or AF tho...
@Estuansis go for it...8800GT is good, only little behind the GTX but sammorris is right in some games 8800GT doesn't perform as well as GTX...but most of the time that card rocks...
does anyone know any good and cheap OCZ, SLI certify and not Cross-fire...

That isn't entirely what I meant, in a large number of games the GT isn't quite as good as the GTX. Fair enough it's not supposed to be, I was more commenting that some games don't give you any extra benefit from SLI.
As for the power supply, I've already recommended you one. SLi and Crossfire certification only means that the unit can deliver enough power to run those setups, it doesn't restrict you to only using the one that the PSU's certified for.
For the resolution, the game won't become any bigger at lower resolutions, it just won't look as good.

I generally find there's little point buying 1066mhz RAM, you may as well save some money and go with 800mhz stuff. As for the brand though, I prefer OCZ over Kingston.

Yeah, OCZ is a good brand. Any premium priced memory from them is bound to be "pretty good" at the least.

That's what I figured. All the games coming out these days are SLI compatible. And any game that doesn't use SLI runs flawlessly on an 8800GT. So I figured I could go for a "good enough" approach. Two 8800GTs would give me much better performance than a single 8800GTX and any game that doesn't use it won't matter because the 8800GTs would give me more than satisfactory performance. I could keep my "high-performance" status a while longer and save some money :)
Sound like a solid plan?

The Samsung seems like a better choice, it has a better contrast ratio.

Me too. I'm in my Senior year(12th grade). I was working at the cranberry marshes for $8.50 an hour, 6 hours a day, 6 days a week. I'm done there now, so I'm back at BDT welding together cranberry pickers for $10.15 an hour. Only problem is 4 hours a day and only 5 days a week. So the marshes made more money for me.

I'm at a 3 hour a day program for working students. You have about a 2 week period to get so many assignments done. Like 10-15 for each class. I have 7 classes. No homework or tests.
The thing that allows me to go is getting 120 work hours per semester. A lot of kids take advantage of the program and just work 2 hours a day at McDonalds or Hardees. I take advantage and work at well-paying jobs for decent hours :)
I'll be getting a full High-School diploma and I've already been accepted into a 2-year technical college in my area. I'll be studying electronics, PC repair(I can get a second A+ Certification), and Industrial Design(aesthetics and modeling for cars, PC cases, and anything else that takes style to make).

That's not on topic for this thread. We're not about to start another AMD vs Intel thread, but to answer your question, not for quite some time. Think of it as like the P4 vs Athlon XP/64 days, AMD had the lead for almost 5 years before Intel caught up. I think the same is happening now but with reversed roles. I still prefer the way AMD's technology works underneath if I'm honest, but they are a long way behind in the performance race.
