Never mind, I noticed the network update option in the recovery menu, duh. Anyways, I love 5.00 M33. Having all the benefits of CFW plus seamless access to the PS Store on the PSP XMB is sweet. Last night I downloaded the portable version of Everyday Shooter directly to my system, fun game.

@ pektroni

In the first post, you state that you upgraded to 3.71m33 but on your second post you claim that system info says 3.52m33-4. Im confused. Also, Im assuming you have a phat psp?

Hi guys, one quick question.

I'm pretty good at following instructions and updated my cfw from 3.03 oe-a to 3.52 m33 last night so please don't be put off by my question early on in the process.

I downloaded the 2 files as instructed, but when extracting them, they were extracted in 2 seperate files, or I had to overwrite the first. So now I have 2 folders downloaded (Part 1 & Part 2) they both have a PSP folder and a 150.PBP file in them. Should I just go through folder 2 and move any files or folder to Part 1 folder that are missing? Also, do I need the 150.PBP file in the part 2 folder, or will the 1 in folder 1 be ok.

Sorry for being a nooooooob :)

So I upgraded to this, then I downgraded to that. And then found out there was a new CFW out..!! :)

A little update. The files and folder structure in both appear to be exactly the same...... I think i'll just go ahead with Part 1 as in the Install Guide.

The 2 parts is just one file split into 2 parts so I could upload it to media fire. All you have to do is choose to extract part 1 and it will extract both parts.

Ok thanks....

I seem to have a problem with accessing it.

I have 3.52 m33, i formatted my memory card through psp system settings.
When I copy the new download onto my PSP, it shows the MUX 2.0 and it loads when I select it. But when I try to select 5.00 or 4.01 nothing seems to happen, It pauses for a bit and then nothing.

So I upgraded to this, then I downgraded to that. And then found out there was a new CFW out..!! :)

It is writing the update to the MS. You need to exit out of MUX and run the update at Game Memory Stick (the same location as MUX when you run it). All of this is stated in the guide.

Yes that's right.

Do I need to upgrade to something else before I can go up to 4.01 or 5.00?

larrylje...

I'm sorry for being thick but....

When I try again later:
...I will format the memory stick via psp system settings.
...I will then copy the update to the memory stick (as guide)
...Then I will run the MUX on my psp, in the game/memory stick location
...Then I'll select (by pressing x) 5.00, and wait for a moment
...Then I exit MUX, and run the 5.00 update on my psp, which will be in the same place as the MUX file.

Is this what you mean?

Again... Sorry for being a duuh

This update is still not working for me.

I load everything onto my memory stick, a couple of the files show as corrupt in my psp menu.
So I load the MUX, select 3.71 M33.... Wait for the "cross" in the top right corner to go, exit MUX and then try and run the 3.71 update. But I get a message saying that I cannot update because I don't have that version......

I'm thinking that I may need to download the Part 1 and Part 2 files again. Can you guys please tell me what programs you are using to unpack them. Ooooor, can anyone think of anything i've done wrong in the above steps?

Cheers

I tried again today......... still not working.

I re-downloaded parts 1 & 2, extracted them and copied them onto my memory card/stick...

When I browse through on my psp, it shows the MUX and the 1.5 & 1.50 files but none of the ones with M33 in the bottom corner....

Any ideas?

in the MUX Update Folder,
1) select the update you want (5.00 m33)
2) wait for the light to stop blinking then select EXIT
3) go to your Games on the XMB and select the update you wanted
(when installing, it will look like the official version)
When that process finishes, go back to the MUX folder and select the 5.00 m33-4
4) again wait for the light to stop blinking
5) again go to your Games folder in the XMB and select the update you wanted
thats all it should need Good Luck

Thanks for your help, I got there in the end :)

I am now running 5.00 M33-4..!! Woohoo :)

Downloaded games that would not work on my PSP before, do now....

Except for one or two, but that's ok. They get much further through the loading process than before. So I guess with an update or two, they will work fine.

Thanks again guys
