I know ther are a lot of people who are having problems here. There is a glitch in the guide. If you try multiple times it will eventually work. I've done this twice now and the first time it worked with a sandisk 2g card, the second time it wouldn't work at all with that card I used a lexar 1g card the second time. I tried multiple time with 3 different cards. It finally took. If you keep tryin you will get it. I also re-downloaded the 3 files before i got it to work again. larry guide all work with time and a little effort.

I have sold my PSP for an XBOX 360 so I will no longer be updating this thread. If anyone wants to take over feel free to download the images and files of the guide and start a new thread with them in it.
I might answer questions time to time but that will be the extent that will be done in this thread from now on.

Instead of this pointless arguing and pretending you are the only one who has this problem, use Google. Maybe then you would find out you probably have unhackable motherboard, so your Datel Tool is useless.

and you have a psp slim
You do not mention if you upgraded to 5.02, or if you bought it with that firmware.
If you know your motherboard is hackable then you have obviously done the test to see
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/709168
From there no one can help you really except if you say its hackable then retry different combinations of memory stick and mms.

I wouldn't of sold it, I would of kept it. I mainly use my PSP to listen to music, pictures and to view videos using Ultimate PSPtube. I sold my PSP initially to buy a XBOX360 also, but when I heard news about the PSP-3000 back in September, quick style I bought a new PSP-2000. Thanks larrylje, at least all of us now have gained a wealth of knowledge from all your posts and teachings that will allow us to teach others. Thanks.

Well then if you had it on before it should install fine again.
Like I say try different memory stick, different installer. Something should work if your psp has no other problems.
There is no 5.02CFW as yet.
The latest is 5.00 M33-6

I am sorry to hear that larry is leaving, I hope this information will still be avaiable and that the updates keep going. To all Noobz. The guide really does work It may take a few trys with different computers or memory sticks. Read the whole guide and thread first before asking questions. Chances are somebody has asked. Since my first posting I have unbricked 1 PSP and modified about 5 with no problems.

A couple of sugestions. First off when you make your MMS it should look just like final picture of the Dos section. If it doesnt you need to try a different compuetr or a different memory stick. Also make sure you put the MMMS in first than the battery. Hope that helps

Where you able to write the IPL code to the card? If you did and transferred all of the files to the MS correctly you may have V3 or V2. You may need to use DC7 to make sure. 1GB cards work best.

hey guys, quick question.
i get the impression from the guide that i dont need the pandoras to install cfw because the easyinstaller for the memory stick says that it installs cfw.
i dont need to unbrick it or anything just install cfw from a psp with ofw.
so do i need the pandoras battery? and if yes is it true there is a way to softmod it?
regards,
Mubs

Yes you need a Pandora Battery. As for ways to mod a Battery to a Pandora Battery READ THE GUIDE or read the multiple past post that answers this question.

alright ok cool.
i have bumped into a couple of guides that talk about making a pandoras,
but one of them caught my attention it says how to make it without homebrew.
does that mean there is a way to use my modded psp to convert my battery into a pandoras battery without opening it up?
can i then restore my pandoras battery back into a standard battery?

All ways to get a Pandora Battery is listed in the guide. It is that simple.
If you have a Custom Firmware PSP then use homebrew to softmod the Battery to a Pandora Battery.
If you only have an official firmware PSP then buy a Tool Battery or HARDMOD the Battery to a Pandora Battery.
