Running Borderlands that was re-verified in abgx in burned dvd tab. No Ban....so Far. Maybe C4ever was right and they cannot detect firmware but just bad rips and bad burns. Also alot of people I know that was banned, were all playing nba 2k10.. Strange thing is my friend bought a new console and the real nba 2k10 not a burned copy. He was playing the game and couldnt access his my player data which for some reason was corrupted.

It's too late now that you've already burned the backups. They were already autofixed the first time you ran the ISOs through abgx360 because you had autofix on level 3, so when you run them through abgx360 again they will all verify of course. If you want to be safer, you'll need to re-rip the games and run those new rips through abgx360 with autofix set to level 2 instead of level 3 and as long as the stealth checks pass (forget about verification) then you're fine. I would certainly consider doing that if you're planning on buying a new console to flash anyway.

With MW2 release soon would using activate.iso with MW2 get me banned on release date using XBL?

Who knows? People have been banned that only played verified rips after the release date. Other people got banned that ripped their own originals. There's definitely a chance that you would be banned, but nobody can say for sure if it'll happen or not.

Okay, so i now have four close friends who have been banned from Xbox Live so far. Two of them were banned for playing Borderlands before the release date. The other two were banned for playing poor rips of Madden 10. I'm pretty sure that the dashboard updates have almost nothing to do with it. If you think about it, it takes much effort to do a firmware dump on a drive in windows. Now if you think the dashboard has the ability to do a firmware dump while the cpu is already going through lots of stress playing games, and running all of the components to make the xbox work, then you think the Xbox has a lot more power then it really does. Now i have another friend who has a xbox running ixtreme 16 on it, and he has played the mw2 rip offline, and on another hard drive, he has not been banned yet. I'm pretty sure that Microsoft's so called "Million Dollar Plan", is not really worth a million dollars. My theory of this is that the Xbox's are all made to store information in it, only if a game that was played has any form or style of data corruption. For example, My friend was playing a bad rip of madden 10, or in other words, an "Unstealthed Copy." This information is stored in the Xbox 360, and this information is sent back to Microsoft. Now this feature was not designed mainly for piracy and flashing, but it was created as a diagnostics feature for microsoft, in order for them to receive feedback on games which could have been produced poorly by microsoft themselves. They use this feature now, for that purpose. Now the console will also send back what is corrupt about the game. If it says
Console ID:2398hhh3283
"Game "Left 4 Dead" corruption."
"Missing SS Sector"
Now that was just an example of what the system could do. Now that is almost a 100% give away to MS that you have played a Pirated game. Now for the early release games. Thats a no branner. You played the game early you *bleep*, and on Xbox Live. It might not be corrupted so it wont be stored in your console, but you played it online, your dumb. Now for the actual time peroid of all of this. This Wave of bans occurs becuase MS sends a command to all consoles with connection to XBL, which tells them to send all corruption data no matter if there was any stored or not. MS does this every day to see if any type of corruption was detected by your console. This is why its smart to stay off XBL during Nov. in general. So if you have any type of crruption stored in your console, it can't be sent back to MS.
That is basically my theory to this whole thing.

ah, i'll have to do that then, thanks for the info on the subject, i'm not certain if i will buy a new console, or attempt to pursue a method mentioned earlier in this thread on how to un ban your 360, as if in the long run knowing how to un ban may prove more useful than at the worst case scenario buying a new console every November

I just found out I was banned yesterday on November 7th. My drive was a Hitachi 1.51, the newest so far for Hitachi's. I played retail games and mostly proper scene release games but never ever played a game before it's release date. I always verified every backup at level 3 in abgx360 before and after I burnt the game to Verbatims @ 2.4x. The only games I have played in the last 2 months have been COD4, COD5, Halo 3, ODST, and Madden 10. I thought I was pretty safe but it was bound to happen. I think it was because I played so many region free games? I hope this helps to narrow what is causing all the bans.

offline won't matter, you will still be flagged and the second you put that ethernet cord back in and sign in, you'll be banned.

really...so im guessing there needs to be a new flash that has to be created to have better stealth?

Well i have a couple friends in the area who just got banned, we all have 1.6 wave3 firmware, and all rip level 2 abgx. but i have not been banned yet both of my friends have :S imm guessing its just luck and that alot of people working for *icro$oft have just landed on random accounts speculating that there hacked since so many games have been played on them, because if my friend lives down the street and has the same things i do why would he be banned and not me when we both were online at the same time ?

well, i got banned on 11/06/09(sat).Console ban only
Im using 1.6, and the newest games ive picked up are
forza 3
halo odst
borderlands
The only game I played online(i know live still gets updates or whatever from games i play, but I mean actually PLAYING with another person somewhere) was borderlands a couple diff nights with a buddy(whos also using a modded xbox, same exact blands disk as me)
I played on 11/06 at around 8am(pacific time, im in CA)and everything was fine(played forza 3). I turn on the xbox around noon or 1pm and i notice im not signed into live, try to sign in and get the ban message.
Ive been using live for about a year and a half, on the same hdd(120gb), but a new xbox. My old xbox died about a month ago, so i gave it to my friend for parts, and purchased an arcade from the store and opened it, had a friend flash the drive and ive been playing since. So my hdd was old, but my xbox was new if that makes any difference.
I dont know about abgx(i know I probly should) but the copies i get are from a buddy of mine, who I trust to do things properly, but i can never truly know unless I rip/burn etc myself.
oh well, i guess ill wait to see what happens with bans and such, if they keep catching people ill just stop playing online.
also, ive never played a game early/before release

hey guys. this is my first post on the site but I feel this is an important time to put in any info that may help get through these rough times lol. I have had modded consoles for the last couple years and I just recently had my new "refurbished" console flashed with the 1.61 firmware. I had the flash done on 31 Oct 2009. I have only played need for speed shift, cod 4, and ncaa football 10. I had a buddies "refurbished" console flashed on friday also. he's played guitar hero 5, band hero, rock band 2, and need for speed shift. Neither of us have been banned........yet. Just thinking, there may be two things that this thread hasn't addressed (to my knowledge)
1. How many MS refurbished consoles have been banned
2. Where are people DLing there games.
I haven't checked my games with ABGX but I never patch my games due to my website...... that I pay for. The site I DL from has only been around for about 2 years, but I have never had any issues. Including the 2 ban waves I have made it through. I'm not trying to promote websites, just wondering if patches or copies are easier to detect than direct iso downloads.
Sorry if i wasted anytime, just figured any two cents right now might help.

i think getting banned from live has been one of the most exciting things thats happened to me in a while! i felt like a little kid on christmas when i would wake up in the morning and check if i was banned or not. getting banned also gave me the opportunity to succesfully brick my samsung drive that i was trying to spoof to hitachi. i have also been waiting for like a week and a half to play modern warfare 2, waiting so i wouldnt get banned, now i can finally play it! its a great game btw lol. im hittin up wal mart in the morning to buy a $99 arcade, i think this couldnt have happened at a better time!
2/2 BANNED!

Does this mean that M$ only banned console with gold membership? So if this is true, we are basically paying M$ to ban our box.
Oh yes, both boxes was connected to live through Ethernet.
thats incorrect, i was banned on wednesday and my account is silver, was playing halo odst campaign when it happened, only the console was banned, gamertag is ok

Has anyone else heard anything else about this ban only lasting until Nov 13th? If you wanna side step the trouble with your HDD during the banning just use a non-modded xbox and memory card to either load your profile to it or to create a new one month membership onto it and use it to login on the modded xbox. When it gets banned you can then go back to using your normal HDD and profile without the consequences. We tested it earlier. Once the xbox is banned, the xbox won't affect other HDD and profiles put on it, only the memory card and profile that was on it when it was banned. Hope this helps. I am still a survivor!!

Hmm that's interesting... My motherboard in my Xbox was changeed to the new one in May 2009. Xbox wasn't flashed back then though... I wonder if repaired consoles also are banned.

Can anyone foresee a hot fix for the HD-Install problem on banned XBOX 360s in the recent future? Figured someone would have figured out the cause by now.

Other than dumping the NAND before a ban occurs (which is a pre-emptive measure rather than a proper fix), I don't think there'll be a fix. If it's some kind of flag that gets triggered in the dash then someone would have to figure out a way to dump the dash, modify the code, then reinstall it on a console. Modders had several reasons why they might want to modify the dashboard before this new ban wave, but AFAIK, it's never been done so I can't see it being done now.
