hi mate your wellcome .if your used to flashing boxes such as eurovox then really you shouldnt have any problem flashing a dm500s as the only difference is the loader software that you use (in this case it will be dreamup) there are plenty of pictures on page1 of this thread to help you use dreamup .
in order for you to have a c line you have to have a working sky card with paid subscription (or other card )in your dm500s and your box needs to be set up as a server ,if you dont have a card then you wont have a c line to give people .in any case if you had your box setup as a server you should be carefull and only give your c line to people you can trust. if you dont have your own card and want to view sky channels then you would need to purchase a c line.
if you have any questions feel free to ask them .

Well, i do pay a sub for sky but i can't see what i have to offer the other person because they will already have what i've got. I don't get sports, movies or pr0n but i do get everything else.
To be entirely honest, i'm not into sports, i can watch all the pr0n i want on the net, and i have all the best and latest films on my HTPC. The only reason i'm doing this is more of a hobby and learning experience. Yeah sure, it would be great to have all the extra channels, but i feel as though i don't REALLY need them. I'm not missing out on much.
The more i'm thinking about it, the more i'm thinking of just doing a small private sharing amongst friends/family. I sure would love to get all the other channels that sky don't broardcast, but that requires a bigger dish, and i've only just recently fitted my own sky dish so that will be a plan for later down the road.

well you can do that with a dm500s but of course your friends /familly members would each need a box like yours thats capable of cardsharing and the would need to have their boxes connected to a broadband router .all the info you need is in my tutorial and you can download all the software you need from the link in my signature area .i suggest you follow my instructions and flash your box with an image and then install cccam and get your paid channels opening on the dm500s ,that would be a good start one step at a time .

hi Pio, had a look at the the above, they ask for a credit card details, you have a choice of keeping the account or closing it after 30 days, but they retain your credit card details, if you close within the period, you can keep one host name, is this a way around giving free dyns?

if you have bought a c line from a payserver you wont be able to use it in two boxes at the same time as reshare will be blocked ,if you want to use two boxes at the same time you need two c lines.you could probably use the c line in both boxes if one is switched off while the other box is on .for instance if you have a box in the living room and one in the bedrrom ,when you go to bed switch off the box in the living room and then switch on the box in the bedroom and the c line should work in both boxes that way and vice versa .but you cant have both boxes on at the same time as the boxes will clash and the c line wont work .

Hi folks, need a little bit of advice please? I have just bought a DM500s & have a quick question...
When I power off the DM500 at night & turn it back on the next day, it has not stored the channels i.e. I have to do an automatic transponder scan for the box to find the channels. This couldn't be normal surely? How do I get the box store the channels (I am using only FTA at the moment? Is there a box I need to tick somewhere on the menu?
Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

hi mate as you say its not normal to have to do a scan everyday ,the channels should store .i can only imagine its an image problem so that said i recommend you change the image (this is called flashing the box ) ,the image i mentioned in my last post would work well on your box ,you can find all the instructions for changing your image on page one of this tutorial .

Cheers Piopat, I was unable to find that image on your signature last night as it was only showing up first ten items when I clicked the link, but now I have managed to get it from there and it worked perfectly.
Thanks a lot

Hello Piopat,
I reflashed the dm500s using dreamup lan however the original boot up screen (pli) remained on the box so I took it that the nabilo image did not flash properly.
Therefore I used the program in your links, flashwizzard 6.3 & everything seemed to work fine. However when I reboot the box I see the Nabillo image loading page & but then the box reboots itself and the same thing happens again i.e. Nabillo image screen reboot....Nabillo image scree, reboot etc
I seem to be stuck in this cycle & cannot access the box via dcc, flashwizzard etc etc.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated please?

hi mate download dreamup 1.3.2.1 from the first link in my signature area ,this dreamup is designed for a dm500s,also download nabilo maxvar v8 from the same link .now as you have allready flashed the box and it has a problem you need to erase the current flash (as you have flashed two times you need to go through the following procedure twice ),open dreamup it should look like this
now look on the right where you see flash and just above that you should see flash erase (click on it )the erasing process only takes a few seconds ,now click on flash erase again(if your box had an image on it before you attempted to flash it flash erase 3 times) .your probably wondering why this is needed ,well the dm500s has a very small memory capacity so while it can hold a few flashes after you have flashed about 2 times the memory starts to gets full and the box cant run properly and so the only way to sort this is to clear as much memory space as we can .
once you have erased the flash or flashes then flash the box as normal and hopefully the problem will be solved ,heres a link to my tutorial

Thanks for reply Piopat.
Unfortunately my PC (Dell 530s) does not have a 9 point serial port, it has a 16 point serial port...that's why I had to use dreamup lan.
I am going to have to buy a serial 9 to 16 adapter on fleabay or something as dreamup lan or flashwizard can no longer locate the dm500s since I encountered this problem last night :(

hi mate your box runs on a certain sim (a clone is usually 2.01 ) and your box has a certain bootloader for example BL76 or above .so flashing a dm800 is not the same as flashing a dm500. a dm500 can be flashed with any dm500 image but a dm800 must have an image that is compatable with the box. power off your box (there is a switch on the rear) now power it back on and look at the little screen on the front of the box ,it will display various info including sim version and bootloader version .once you have both find an image that has the same sim and bootloader versions and flash as normal .if your not sure get your box sim and bootloader version and post it here and im sure someone can point you towards a suitable image .
