friend, you really need to use google. my mum is past 90 years of age and can find answers to crossword puzzles on google. i think with a bit of effort you might be able to do likewise

hi mate I see what you mean now ,it seems either you haven't got a password in dream control center /dream control center isnt recognising the password or perhaps you bought your box already setup and the person who set it up changed the password .have a look at this picture
look under login and you will see name and passw , have you got anything in those boxes ? if so what ?.if nothing has been changed it should say
name = root
passw = dreambox
however if you bought your box already setup the chances are high that the person who set it up changed the default password , if that's the case you have to either get the password from the person that sold you the box or you will have to reflash the box , this is why I recommend that people set up their own box to avoid problems like this .

I guess theres a chance that the box has just glitched aswell (had a temporary malfunction) so I guess you could try closing dream control center and unplugging the box and waiting a few seconds and then plugging it back in again.that way if the box has just glitched the problem may be gone , then open dream control center and try again and see what happens .

hi pio,
it is a strange one everythings all working and i have green line to all PC,dreambox to router
the login details all ok with root, dreambox
but when i click on FTP the 2 boxappears with one empty
my dreambox version is 2.82?is that ok
last time i used it was over a year ago

hi mojo mate as everything is pretty much as it should be and you still cant see files in the box on the left id have to say the password on your dreambox has been changed .
so your options here are limited .
1/ if you bought the box all set up you can contact the box seller and ask them if they have the password .
however if its been a while its unlikely that he will still have the password ,but you never know so its worth a try .and its the easiest option so id say try it .
2/ if you have a program called tuxbox or tuxcom installed on your box you can use that to access the part of the box that has the password and then you can delete the password .
some images come with this installed but not all , or you may be able to install it from the addons panel , but that's only a may as your addons may not contain that program .
3/ you reflash the box .
this is the problem when buying boxes that are all set up (I call these plug and play boxes )which is that more often than not the box seller changes the password on the box . what happens then is if you cant access the box files to edit them or if your box has a problem your options for fixing the problem are very limited .and most likely only reflashing the box will solve the problem , and that means you end up having to do all the things you tried to avoid in the first place.

sky keep moving the channels about so you should do a scan every 2 to 4 weeks , that keeps your all channel list as up to date as your satellite.xml file allows .

hi mate well if you can do a scan and get most of the channels that's good then all you have to do is do a scan every few weeks to keep your all channels list up todate , or as up todate as your satellite.xml file allows . like I say sky keep moving channels around and adding new frequencies etc so if you cant update the box at some point you will encounter the problem of channels going off and a scan wont return them because your box doesn't have the new frequencies . but also as you say if you ever want to add a new c line your going to have a problem , and the options you will have are the options I mentioned earlier . talk soon mate

I had my sat moved from tree line and there is no breaking of pic now .........but still only freeview at best
my readings are (if they are relevant)
SNR 95%
AGC 84%
ber 0

your readings depend on your box , or what enigma version you have . if you have enigma 2 ( a hd box) then your readings are very good . but id say they are enigma 1 , for enigma1 they are pretty good on the whole , but that said agc is a tad low , on enigna 1 boxes snr and agc should be about the same . what I recommend (if you have a cline ) is that you get a test c line from another server and try it and see if it makes a difference . also can you access the addons panel?

mojo88: Follow piopats tut and you'll have no problems in flashing your DM500. Many people on here were in similar situations but there is plenty of help available.

jhammer02, i seem to be having the problem for the last few weeks, cant seem to track down an Image that will allow the ccams, Piopat came up with a fix but i cant remember which one, if he's on the system he might get back about it, or post a file.

hammer by default you cant install a cam on Gemini or dreamelite images via the addons ,but you can manually install a cam . that means you can use dream control center to put the cam file into the box .
hubbabubas try the nabilo maxvar v8 image for your box ,ive got that on a few boxes and it works fine . see if you can download it from the links in my signature area .

YOU TOLD ME YOU ONLY TRIED NABILO DARKSTAR 11 ,THE MAXVAR V8 IMAGE WORKS PERFECTLY ON MY BOXES SO IM NOT UNDERSTANDING WHY IT WONT WORK ON YOURS UNLESS TEH BOX HAS A FAULT . THERES A DM500 PLI IMAGE (IT COMES WITH CCCAM PRE INSTALLED )IN MY DOWNLOAD LINK TRY THAT , DO A FLASH ERASE BEFORE YOU FLASH THE BOX .
