hmmmm. i wonder if you noticed that you must give 2 levels of reshare to somebody you don't know. the clever pay servers give people with cards free access to their systems once they are allowed to reshare their cards. so yes, you as the individual, get all the channels you want, but the payserver gets your card to reshare. the system you promote looks awful like this to me.

if thats directed at me.. its free connection for all.. no need for a card of your own.. so its a win win for all newbies with no cards

am i reading this site wrong. you must first give an fline (with two reshare levels) before you receive a cline. looks to me that this means you must have a local card beore you get a cline. correct me if i'm wrong.

we do not promote or in any way agree with the use o pay servers on this site. one of the main reasons for this is the jeopardy its puts people in. so if you are looking for illegal services look elsewhere. if you are looking for intuitive guides on how to expand your knowledge then ask more appropriate questions

Hi

I created the site mentioned above (http://ondemand.ddns.me) and it is not used for a payserver it was just created as an experiment at creating a system with PHP/MySQL to create an automatic C-line generator and collecting stats on most watched channels from data on the cccam web interface.

The only person paying is me as I pay for an (admittedly cheap) VPS to host it.

There is no requirement to give 2 re-share levels, you can give one if you want and also there is no requirement to have a local card.

But if no one had local cards or gave any re-share than the whole system wouldnt work and it would be pointless. I have a Canal Digitaal card and TNTSat card which I share onto the system myself.

the difficulty with any sharing system is people must share. to share with confidence you must have confidence in the credentials of the central system owners. this is not possible if you do not know who the owners are.

i cannot understand how you could allow users without a local card to connect to the system. this means that any user can connect and get free tv from other users. doesn't strike me as a very fair system.

but my biggest concern with your system is that when it becomes largescale what is to stop you becoming a payserver. then i'm sharing a card and you are making money off it.

as i have always said, share with who you know. you get more peace of mind

It is just the same as any free-server. You dont need a local card to use them.

What is to stop any server, free or otherwise becoming a pay server - Nothing.

Looking at the possibility in setting up a CS among a few friends so a couple of questions,,
-For dynamicdns to work would i have to have a pc on at all times to with update installed in the event of an ip change of ,, if so would it be worth getting a static
- i have multiroom basic so i assume you can disconnect the second box and use the card from that so i can keep the sky+ ( i would be fline with all the perks)
- agree with fintannl with the risks on pay servers but is there a risk on home network
-what is the best image at the moment

ftm, inadyn is available as a plugin to continually update ip address. i have no preferences on dm500 images, its a limited box (memory wise) so no matter what image you use you cannot hide that fact. yes you can disconnect second box and use card in dreambox instead

pkossie, you use the simple config option. then scan. if you still cannot get a lock, even though your other box is working off the same lnb then check your cable connectors to make sure no stray earth wires are connecting to the live or that the cable isn't damaged in any way

i guess you mean satellite rather than terrestrial. i suspect the satellite.xml file in /var/etc/ is not complete. browse it and check the transponders being scanned on 28.2. google a new version and load it on the dreambox

Hi just starting to look at the c/s option. I know this may sound stupid to all you experts but here goes,
1. do the clients have to have a sat dish or will the DM500S just do?

Thanks Mickah.

Is a DM500S sufficient to use as a server, say for 4-5 clients?
Is there a min required or recommended broadband speed for a server?
Is there a recommended/preferred operating system,e.g. xp
Does the chip speed /Ram of the PC have any bearing on the process.

Thanks fintannl,

Just curious about the way the card data moves, is the Client accessing the Server to get the code or is Server sending it to the Client?

satellite system requests data off client, client then requests it off server, server responds with necessary data

I'm having difficulty with Dreambox500 the picture glitching regularly I had a c line from a payserver site and canciled and now c line from a local reliable source but still glitches from time to time. I believe latency is the issue. Is there any way to remove this latency issue the local c line provider is subject to an eircom ISP and exchange. Someone mentioned previously there is very low latency with modem connection if that is a solution anyone know how to implement it in a broadband wireless enviornment.
The dreambox is a great satelite system but if it glitches like this regularly then its not worth the grief.
