no. i asked a virgin eng. who was on the street, n he said leeds is NAG.4 now. and rest of UK will be soon....

just tried with both irish and uk 1.0 files. no luck. still says not connected at bottom of info bar when change channel...only gettin bbc 1, bbc2, itv1, c4 and c5... nothing elce!! any ideas folks?? cheers

haha... cheers... .
used v1.10 . same result. box still says not connected... i thinks i gotta get round this before it will work. i input ip addresses in auto and in manual, but still the same.
any more help guys??

when i put it on auto its all zeros, but after 3-5 secs ip address comes up.

then you must have left something out cos if you are getting your ip address on,
box should come on!
go through the check list below
1. cable is connected
2. lan (broadband) is connected
3. you presed 8989 on accessory and made sure "everything" is on/autoupdate.ect..
**EDIT**
try with both guinness and new carling v1.10

cable connected. broadband connected, and all on auto update. followed tutorial exactly every time. still says not connected. with carling v1.0, carling v1.1 and guinness v1.0
is there any chance it could be finding a false IP address or some reason??

you can check if its just the same as your computer/lap, but last digits will be different
and you are 100% positive your area is on nag.3
also you could check in a friends or family member house!

i cant find out if its nag.3 or not... (virgin eng said its nag.4!!!) how would i find if its nag.3 for defo??.. n ifs its nag.1 then i assume my old STARVIEW THE BOX should work, which it doesnt. also, all people round here on virgin got new cards a few month back...

well then most likely yes you are on NAG.3
and as far as the virg*n eng goes, he was prob pulling your leg, or he really tought it was nag.4 lol
all i can say is try a friends or family, even be best if they have different broadband

hi
i have a hd combo box running fine with the guinness patch ,can not get a carling patch to work with it at all, seems to be that the file is alot smaller??
the only thing i'm having probs getting fully to work are some of the HD channels,ive tried the patch for my box in the thread above (0712.UAD)and the odd couple have come on which is great but the s** movies/sports F***4 E*4 I** & S**y all HD list but dont work no matter how long you leave them, the standard def versions work fine,
I was just wondering if there will be an update at some point as the patch i have used is pre the switch over to HD of 02/08/2010.
Anyone got any ideas if there will be an update in the future??
if not well thats not a problem as whats working is great

is that the carling+_0712.uad file ???
thats the one i have tried and i did look at the link on the bottom of your sig'
'combo files here'???
i was only wondering if there was a post 02/08/2010 file update that was all.
the carling files either dont load as they are a small file size or they dont down load,
thats why i've stuck with the guinness file, as it works atm.
just would be nice to possibly get all the HD channels working that was all
any ideas

well you must be the only one as they seem to load no prob for other people and i know people who have put it on their box and working fine and clearing all the hd channels
