Sorry Gary, I'm sharing conax so I'm lucky in that sense I don't have to go down this route.

Best of luck with it though

Ok, after being banned for a few days on my viewpoint on card servers I will express a more limited viewpoint. All of you are welcome to pursue such actions. Can I say, as simply as possible, if you subscribe you will do so with your credit card. It is an illegal activity and your credit card is tagged to this, as are you the owner of the credit card. Your choice. I'm going to try and and not express my opinion, BUT ARE YOU MAD. You are giving your personal details to criminals. Sorry, can't contain myself on this viewpoint.

answer is to use virtual credit card, but as i have stated before - advise anyone to stay away from pay servers, they will catch/con you in some form or another!

Get out of that garden!

Oh I'm not going near card servers. I don't really believe in that, I'm just trying to get decent channels around the house without subscribing for multiroom * 8

So I have the card sharing with the other box, but the server box isn't working for the movie channels and sports channels even though it does in the regular box??

gary there is a sticker at the back of the sky box which should have a 17 digit serial number you can enter that in to the converter,or press services, then 4 system setup, then 5 system details.there you will see serial number you can also use that in the converter, you can use one or both but the boxkey should be the same. then enter it in to cccam.

Savage, got it working all right, thanks for that. Got it from the menu. Managed to crash one of the boxes so I'm guessing I'll have to flash it tomorrow. But at least I got all the chanels and I got a share working. Now I just have to combine them tomorrow :)

Hi, yeah you guessed it.
Its a inter house network. The reason for Myth is that I already had a HTPC setup and plugged in a dvbs card.
CCCcam is running on the server. and on mythtv i'm using the nline of the newcs. for the other dm500 client it's running cccam also with the nline. i read on the eurosharing site that using the n line is easier.
cccam running on the server do itself can decode the local channels.

I come from a dvbc era of Mediaportal and arnet but this so far has been great learning. but the freezing is killing my enjoyment.

is anyone else getting freezin over the interweb.?

can i suggest that the easiest solution is to use cccam as server and client and drop newcs. nor is it necesary for using mgcamd for entitlements. cccam can now do all aspects

hi guys i was having trouble with my router i couldnt portforward(to use for cs)i was advised that my router netopia was not a good router for this and to that end i got a netgear dg834g v5. i got it set up and working and set for portforwarding and still my second box is showing my first box the server as offline. both boxes dm500s have unique ips, dhcp is ticked and so is enable network. netmask is the usual 255.255,nameserver and gate way on both boxes display my router ip. i have done a few tests, i checked my dyndns address and it came back ok,the router can see both boxes cos i can edit them, i checked the ports with port checker and it came back (timed out)it said either my router, firewall,or isp could be blocking the port, can anyone help with this. i want to share to the dm500s in the same house but also to a mate in nearby house, but i can do neither. i know i also likely done something wrong or missed something out in my setup,if any one has this router and are on eircom and have it working could the let me know what settings to check thanks.

Have ya checked out this guide for your rouer!

Good while ago since i did it, but you have to set port number, then go in to NAT (i think) to actually open it!

Get out of that garden!

for the dg834g V5

Nat is the key.
In services add a new service for the CCCam port.
In Firewall add the rule to forward the CCCAM service to the local lan ip of the DM500.
Then use the dydns section of the router setting to setup the dyndns of the router.

On the DM500s turn off dyndns and let the router handle it.

This way you actuall connect to the router on port say 12000 and it forward the packets to the dm500.

hopefully that all make sense.

BTW i got rid of the DG834g V5. Its the worst version they have. it's cheaper china components and it's not stable. It will lose wifi and dhcp information regularly.

I use the V2 V1 and GT version all with the customer DGTeam firmware on it and these are rock stable. My V1 had an uptime of 200days before . I could't get a day out of the V5. There is no custom firmware for it either.

i did all that monk, and i had made an error which i fixed. the box is still showing as offline,so i again went through a few checks. i tried port checker(which now says the port is opened and nothing is blocking it)i checked my dyndns and it said ok, and i pinged the box it was ok. so the port is opened. on communication setup (on the dm500 boxes)do the ports on there also need to be set to 12000(i did do that and tried going back to the original setting).i got a message on screen from dyndns updater giving me a warning and that my account may be blocked and warning status yellow(whats that about)also i noticed on the screen that my dyndns was incorrect(example: host name.dyndns,ws) it should be .ws but its ,ws can i fix that . so am i being blocked is that why it still says offline,or is the incorrect dyndns in the updater at fault. only other thing i can think of is the f and c lines(which i checked i think they are ok i just kept them simple untill i was fully up and running) examples of my f and c lines, F:mate 1 dm5001 and cline is C:mydyndns 12000 mate 1 dm5001 do they seem ok are is there something wrong here as i cant see anything else that i can check any help is much appreciated thanks.

Piopat, the reason your account may be blocked at dyndns is because you are only allowed to update dyndns with your IP so many times an hour. If you repeatedly do it then DynDNS gets upset. You can understand this because just think of the amount of machines around the world sending update requests to DynDNS servers.

So now lets forget about DynDNS for a sec. From an earlier ports you say that you wish to share internally (multiroom) and share externally with a friend. So lets get the internal network sorted first and you don't need DYNDNS for that ( I presume you are not putting your external IP in the CLine for an internal multiroom conection).

So what EMUs are you using. Here I suggest that you use the latest CCCAM 2.1.4 (I posted a thread with a link to this some time back) in both your multiroom boxes. So then you have a Cline that looks like C: 192.168.x.x 12000 user pass and a corresponding Fline in your server dreambox (192.168.x.x is the internal IP of your server box.

Next I noticed you said that DHCP is ticked for both boxes. DHCP should never be ticked. The boxes need to have static addresses on your internal network, how else can you guarantee your Cline will work all the time. DHCP auto assigns IP addresses for example if you rebooted your router in which case your sharing would stop working.

Play with this for a bit and post for results. Note that you can view CCCAM stats on 192.168.x.x:16001 to see if you are getting activity. If you wish you can post your CCCAM.cfg here. Just remove any references to your external IP number.

Port forwarding. Most routers have in their admin options, a network option, a NAT (network address translation) option and a port forwarding option. So it should just be a case of forwarding 12000 to your internal server IP number ie.. 192.168.x.x.

Once you get the internal multiroom working then you can start looking at INADYN plugin for updating DYNDNS. But first thigs first

ok my account is green good and not yellow, dyndns updater is updating and says its synchronised, i can ping the box packets sent and recieved, port checker tells me the port is not blocked in any way.dhcp is unticked on both boxes and they have unique ips.everything is connected as it should be, i gave an example of c and f lines above and its still nsaying offline. i tried what you said 192.168.xxx.xxx:12001 (obviously i entered my own ip) and web page cant be found. so whats left it wont even work in my own house i cant figure it.all i have in cccam config really is listen port 12000, my boxkey(that works ok)an fline in the server box and the same in box 2 except it has a cline added.

cccam can be observed on 16001 not 12001. It needs to be setup in CCCAM.cfg to allow this. By using Flines in both cfgs you are saying that both boxes are servers. This I don't think is true. Only one box has a card in it and as such that box is ther server and has an fline in the cccam.cfg. You cannot have two boxes sharing port 12000 with flines in their cfg. If you have two servers then one would be on 12000 and the next would be on 12001 At the moment you have two servers clashing on port 12000 even though in truth only one of your boxes is a server. I hope you find that this solves your prob. Just remove the fline from the client box. All that should be in the client cfg is a cline that goes like C:192.168.xxx.xxx 12000 user pass and not c: myip.dyndns.org 12000 user pass. Couldn't find your C line example. Guess its there somewhere.

As I said Dyndns is another game and that is associated with external sharing only. Internal sharing using the internal static numbering for the boxes as you have assigned them

i dont have flines in both boxes only in one.here is an example of what i have in both boxes, in cccam.config(server box)i have listen port 12000,boxkey, F:box2 box2, thats all. in the second box it has ,listen port 12000, boxkey,C:server ip 12000 box2 box2 . it still says offline,by the way when i go in to the server box via dcc its very slow to open the files and often gets stuck, the second box opens fine all the time never getting stuck. thanks fint for your help mate.

Ok lets take a simple example of a client and server config

Here's the server cfg file
SERVER LISTEN PORT : 12000
SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY : /dev/sci0 3430000
BOXKEY : /dev/sci0 xx xx xx xx xx
F: 12000 user1 pass1
F: 12000 user2 pass2
TELNETINFO LISTEN PORT : 16000
WEBINFO LISTEN PORT : 16001

Here's the first client (client is internal to network/your router)
SERVER LISTEN PORT : 12000
C: 192.168.xxx.xxx 12000 user1 pass1

Here's the second client (client is external to network/your router)
SERVER LISTEN PORT : 12000
C: myname.dyndns.org 12000 user2 pass2

On the router side you have set up port forwarding to route port 12000 to the internal IP of your server.

After this if your server is still playing silly beggars (running slow) then I suggest you do the following. Copy the config files the other way arounf ie. make the server the client and vice versa. Now id the other box responding slowly. If this is the case then its a config issue, if not then you may have a problem with your current server box. The joys of a dreambox. It brings you to your knees until you simply want to throw it out the window and then presto it works.

Never forget the first time I got it to work on MMDS. Was trying the absolute last thing before I got rid of it and suddenly I got volume and picture on the TV. Scared the bejaysus out of me after being used to having a blank screen for so long
