Beg your parsups guys, I thought ye were talking about the cable.
There is no hard drive connected with the box, I would have to get that on it own.
On another note, shold I change the Image in order to get better EPG?

i w0uld be more worried about it overheating than a better EPG at this stage, if you haven't connected a HD internally, then there is something not right, not sure if there is a fan on one of these that cools the processor, if there is, it may be broke, but check it firstly

what rooney means to ask is what bootloader version is the clone you have. the best image on the market is dream elite. sadly dream elite server is now dead. but i still recommend it. you will have to manually install plugins but it is by far the best on the market. as for issues with heat and noise. get a screwdriver out. there are only two component parts to a dreambox, motherboard and tuner. neither make noise. so what you have is a simple problem. your box is likely a bootloader 76 version with an internal fan. if you open the box, remove the tuner and lift the fan you will likely find that there is something stuck in it or it is not seated correctly. its the only possible noise issue and i have found with one unit i bought a piece of rubber (not condom) stuck just underneath the fan

I'm not sure if its a clone or not, I bought it direct from Hongkong.
I had it on for less than hour and half last-nite, and the machine just started to buzz picture went, I turned it off for a few mins and turned it back on, then it said can,t Tune. yet i was able to see Tease smut.and one or two others but no sly, since i got the box I had to, every time I turn it on, I have to change the cam to 14. I will send a email to Dream, some Guy Called mark on the help line see what I can get from him, I think myself I will send it back, it cost me 220 incld post and Customs. If I open the box it might invalidate it. I can't remember hearing a fan going in the unit and looking through the vents don't see any, unless its hidden, hence the reason for not opening it. I will let you know if I get anywhere with Dream rep. thanks Rooney,Mickah,fintannl.

Be careful if you are sending it back, as there have been many reports of boxes going missing/not received. Or the seller claiming not to have received it, better a noisy box than none at all!!!
Whatever you say, say nothing when you talk about you know what for if you know who might hear you, you know what youll get. Youll be sent off to you know where for you would not know how long. Maybe I could search through the threads so you dont have to ??

I don't think that would be an issue, if I registered it ,although it would cost a bit to send i'm sure I could recoup the payment, or may be not. i have sent an email to their rep called Mark, the box is not much use in its present condition. I only have it six days, got cline same time. I see how goes with their rep, I think myself its the tuner.

deffo use reg post or some tracking method, both ways, rathur pay a few bob knowing it is safe going and coming back, then been at a total loss of the box, they aint gonna give ya money back for reg post, thats up to you if u decide to use it

Just had a email from Media Rep, he gave permission to open the box.
I have the box on my desk at the moment no apparent noise coming from it.
I have asked for new box, some chance.

got a 800hd dreambox clone from china a few months ago, everything was ok with it at first, then it started to get noisy. i read it was the fan on a tread and that what it turned out to be. put up with it as it was was not too bad but on the plus side the picture was brillant compared to what i was getting from upc. some times when i turned on the receiver it would not boot so i might have to turn it on and off a few times but it never failed. i took the plunge and bought an orginal 4 months ago and i have had not one problem with it since. going to use the clone as a second receiver when my ccline chap decides to give multi room sub. i also found that the remote was superior to the clone remote. there is nothing wrong with my clone, the fan i can sort out, but the orginal is far ahead. hopes this helps.

The problem i'm having is that the machine cuts out and you can see nothing, last evening, i hooked the box back up, no joy the box just fell ouer, done a factory reset re done enigma, what came then was new, Tune A has a problem, at this time i'm loosing the plot, decided to take sat cable off turned of the box reconnected, and then it was able to see the Tunar A rescaned 28.2 and wella, stations back, I know you are saying you got a clone, how do you know? I thought I had an orignal. There should be some warranty on this, so i can return it and get may money back, or a new machine its only a week old.

the price will give you the indication. i gave 200 for clone and nearly twice for the orginal. as far as i know there is supposed to be a twelve month waranty with the receivers, i stand to be corrected on this.

hubbabubba if you paid about £170 for a dm800 its a clone as an original would come in nearer the £400 mark , as you say send it by registered post for safety ,if you paid by paypal they should be able to get your money back for you if things go pear shaped with your supplier .ton1234 im getting at the races fine after doing a scan last night the frquency is 12.303 h 27.500 2/3 you could try a manual transponder scan.

just checked at the races alss and it is missing. i had sound but no picture for awhile and i was told it could be a dreambox problem. will also try manual scan later piopat

Yes you could be right just over 200, paid by paypal, don't seem to be having to much joy with their rep, he told me switch it off when its gets hot, what a joke, i'm sitting here trying to get some thing from the box, and it comes back to, tune failed, and a load of frying noises so one would imagine its a tunar problem. I'll plug my 500 back in, at least i will get the benefit of the cline, thanks Piopat, i will keep you informed of this f*** of a box, I'm not sure if explicifts are allowed.

would expect rooney that what you say is not true. it is not possible to get at the races pid 518 on any linux box using cccam. what you likely have is pid 520 which is attheraces interactive. this has been a longstanding cccam problem that has never been corrected. but maybe i am wrong? of course if you run cccam in unison with newcamd and have an mgcamd client to ensure entitlement updates to the server it is possible. however i have never found the need to struggle with such a complicated scenario. i live with the interactive attheraces

No fint i always only had interactive attheraces but i lost that,,I done a manual scan and to my surprise i now have proper attheraces..Check it out mate
