Maybe I am wrong, but if your apartment has a comunnal dish supplying each apt and there is a cable going to your Apt, why would you need to subscribe to Sky? you will FTA chans come down that cable anyways with out subscribing to sky themselves as the dish will pick this up, so if you connect a Dream or a box to the cable you will get those chans and then you can then connect the box to a router and get a cline from some one to unscramble the chans..... can stand corrected on this, you dont need to subscribe to Sky to get FTA chans, just to get encrypted chans, which a dream with a cline loaded will get you,

Apparently from property Mngt they have to bring the Cable into the Apartment etc and they will only do this if we are setting up on Sky, 3 month trial me thinks.
Thanks for Help
Can one of you lads PM somewhere to buy the DB 500S with software already installed as my mate is expensive for software loading

forzahoop, MICKAH is exactly right in what he said, with regards to your management company I think they are telling you porkies, get yourself some cable and connect yourself up, it is easy, also putting an image onto a dreambox is a piece of cake, order one and when you have the box come back on here and you will be helped out, if your in Ireland check out Gumtree they have loads on there.

Literally there is no Cable coming into the Apartment except the NTL point, there is a Box beside the balcony which is supposed to be SKY.
I will get the Box from someone on Gumtree or online, then see what i can do from there

or this is a big or, get a mobile dish from lidl, put it on yer balacony, sorted, then connect to yer box, but I cant see them running a cable to the apt every time someone wants Sky and then doesnt want sky, dont sound right, me thinks the cable is there already and its a matter of just connecting

Basically we have a Communial dish, a cable that runs to a Box outside the apartment but Sly said we require an Installer to run cable into apartment. Then they send out a card etc which i don't want.
So i have to get Sly installed by an installer before getting Sly send out card and i presume Box
|

no, as if the box is there you run the cable from there and then connect to a dreambox or similar, each apt must have a feed to it which is the box your talking about, so just run coax from the box and then connect the sat box to it, simple as, if you dont want to do that, get yerself a sat kit from lidl and set it up on yer balcony and then connect it to the box of yer choice, phuck that paying for some running a cable from outside yer door to inside yer door
Where is this box located to anyways? Is in on yer balcony? for me, get a dish out of lidl and happy days, done

It is located outside beside the Balcony but just outside of reaching distance.

yeah do if its not reachable, have a look at the other suggestion I made about the portable kit, dish cables the lot for about 65 euros and you can take it with ya when you move! that will do the trick, save paying them to hook ya up

is there any way around to receive all sat channels via receiver for free not via subscription ?
will kryptviw also down when nagra 3 comesin
which dreambox i shud buy which doesnot have subscription service

No subscription, no channels
Whatever you say, say nothing when you talk about you know what for if you know who might hear you, you know what youll get. Youll be sent off to you know where for you would not know how long. Maybe I could search through the threads so you dont have to ??

the only chans you will receive free are the fta,to get sports movies etc.you will either subscribe to sly or a payserver a good place to start with is a dreambox 500s,if you use the search function you will see piopats excellent tutorial if you follow this tut you will be up and running in no time

advise staying away from pay servers and in particular kv and sv servers. these servers are even worse than pay servers as they have such a huge user base. bound to be targeted. work the logic

Guys,
Which image and where did you get it from, do you all use.
I tried EdG-nemesis and another one and none of them can see my network when i plug in a network cable!!!

as advised in the other thread you started, there is a cost if you want to get access to a cline, monthly or 6 monthly or yearly, your not going to get it for free on sat, unless you are part of a private share amongst friends or family, so, if you arent, your going to pay for it if you go the Sat route or buy a Kryptview or SV6 is you want to go cable, but either way, your going to have to spend money on a box, it seems you want everything for free, which your not going to get
If you take out the sub yourself, you will pay for this and spread the cost amongst the people sharing of you, depending on how many is sharing with you
