wow some ppl are such jerks. they dont even look for a link and just start asking questions, meanwhile the questions are already answered.
gotu if u dont want the newest version, then dont update it when u dL.
and yea this program is rather ridiculous to get working. probably because its so general and works for any motorola phone. maybe if it was specialized it wouldnt be so annoying.
___
you have to follow motogal's instructions exactly. if your computer doesn't pop up as havin detected it, as it says in step 6. then u have to go to your device manager, right click the motorola usb and go to update driver.
**btw thnks for those instructions motogaL.

Hi all
Thanks to all of the helpful folks here I've gotten MPT and my E815 playing nicely together. One question though; it seems that my phone doesn't support my copying files/pics/sounds to and from it via MPT. Is there a way around this? Any seem hack or other software? Since this is a modem (as far as my pc thinks) can I "send" a file to my phone through the modem commands?
Thanks for your help

Hi, I am trying to set up a dial-up networking connection using my mobile phone as a modem (Motorola V190 and MPT v4.04). Fido was no help and neither was Motorola. BVRP state they don't support it but it will work if the modem is installed correctly. According to my device manager, it is functioning OK as a modem. I have changed the COM port to 4 (from 6) as suggested earlier in this thread. My problem is, as soon as it dials out and connects, I hear 3 tones (like the ones you would here before the message, "This is Bell Canada, the number you have dialed has been changed to...") and then the phone hangs up. I can dial my ISP manually using the cell and I hear the modem at the other end. I can also dial the number manually on my computer on the MPT interface and it tries to connect for about 13 seconds. If, however I try to use my dial up application, or try to check email using MPT, I just get the 3 tones and an immediate disconnection. Is there something simple I'm missing here?
Thanks in advance!

I currently have the Motorola e815, and from what I read before, it isnt able to send multimedia(pictures, sounds, video clips) from mobile to pc... is this for sure? or is there any other way? Or maybe a different version of Mobile phone tools that will work... And yes I followed the intallation instructions provided, and was able to get MPT to recognize my phone... any responces would be greatly appreciated...thanx

A RAR file is kind of like a ZIP file. Surf to www.shareware.com and look for (and install) WinRAR. The trial is 15 days which is enough time to extract the installation file.

This is the fastest download link that I've found so far....
http://evanzhang.com/mpt323.exe
It's version 3.23, and so far it's let me update to 4.04... Origonally I was running 2.12 and updating from there, but that is such a pain in the ass every time. I found this thread and it motivated me to look for a direct download to a newer version so I thought I would return a contribution.

I have a V220 motorola phone.
I have downloaded MPT P2kDrivers and followed the tutorial on this site http://www.ic.sunysb.edu/Stu/cdigiamo/tutorial/v220/tut.html. Everything works perfectly, but when i go into multimedia center it blocks out the buttons and says that my phone isint connected. All the other features such as phonebook and calendar work perfectly.
Any suggestions? (i think it is because my phone is locked or something like that)

Ok I have a Motorola V3, I am running Win 98 SE. I have tried to follow the steps that Motogal posted to see if it would work on 98 SE also. The problem I am having is that I can't find the live update button in MPT 3.11...I can find an update button, but this button takes me to a page where It asks me to purchase a newer version of MPT. So far I have installed the P2K driver for my phone so it is recognized and is being charged, but MPT will not recognize that my phone is connected. Anyone have any suggestions. Thanks.

You're using your computer , you do have the option of going online with the phone ,, but all your updating and transfers of ringtones , start up screens etc are done from your computer to your phone direct.
