You havent placed the fix file in your system folder. Download the fix file from the link above(it has the same name ASPI - or whatever it is) and copy it into your windows system folder. Usually its C:\windows\system 32

what do you mean, "how do i do this?" its on the first page of this thread, in easy to read capitol letters. the a) b) c) and so on after the...

"3) CONVERT THE EXTRACTED FILES INTO 2 BIN FILES."

then follow these steps...

a) OPEN CDVDGEN.
b) SELECT ?CREATE NEW PROJECT? AND THEN SELECT ?DVD-ROM
MASTER DISC?. DRAG CDVDGEN TO THE LEFT SIDE OF YOUR
SCREEN.
c) NAVIGATE TO THE FOLDER THAT YOU CREATED ON YOUR HARD
DRIVE BACK IN STEP 2 AND OPEN IT ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF YOUR SCREEN.
d) SET THE WIDTH OF THAT WINDOW SO THAT IT IS ONLY 1 FILE WIDE. THIS WILL PLACE THE FILES INTO THE SAME ORDER AS THEY WERE ON THE GAME DISK BUT YOU SHOULD CHECK THEM FOR CORRECT ORDER JUST IN CASE.
e) CLICK ON EDIT > SELECT ALL.
f) DRAG ALL THE FILES INTO THE RIGHT SIDE OF CDVDGEN.
g) LOOK FOR A SLUS OR SLES FILE AND WRITE DOWN THE FULL NAME AND THEN CLICK ON THE ?VOLUME? TAB IN CDVDGEN.
h)TYPE SLUS OR SLES (WHICHEVER YOUR FILE NAME IS) INTO THE 1ST BOX NEAR "DISC NAME"
i) TYPE ALL OF THE NUMBERS FROM YOUR FILE NAME, WITHOUT THE PERIOD, INTO THE 2ND BOX.
j) TYPE PLAYSTATION FOR THE PRODUCER NAME AND SELECT THE APPROPRIATE LICENSE AREA.
k)CLICK ON "REC...".
l)SELECT YOUR DESIRED STORAGE LOCATION AND NAME THE FILE STAR.IML
m)YOU WILL GET 2 ERRORS, JUST CLICK OK FOR BOTH.
n)THE RECORDING SCREEN WILL POP UP, CLICK ON FILE > EXPORT IMAGE AND SAVE IT ON ONE OF YOUR HARD DRIVES (NOT IN A FOLDER) NAME IT STAR.LST
o) WHEN IT'S FINISHED, YOU WILL HAVE 2 FILES NAMED STAR.000 AND STAR.001
p)CLOSE CDVDGE
N AND GO TO STEP 4.

get it? toozit

x-fan, from what i understand from reading this thread, some other people had the same scenario. just go to step four only you are going to be working with four files instead of two. keep going...

Hello,
I went through this process step by step, worked great until I actually burned the new .iso file. I used my swap magic 3 as usual, then put in the new star wars dvd and it said it was not a valid ps2 disc.. Any reason why my first backup would work, but using this method now it won't?
Any help would be appreciated.

THe music skips sometimes because the disc is really loaded with info. A lot of discs contain garbage files that the playstation looks for at various points throughout the game. Sometimes its hard for your computer to copy these files as the are really damaged pieces of info and computers are not made to copy these. When you use the rebuild the garbage files are sometimes compressed or deleted thus making the cd smaller(less GB) and easier to read. But this is not always the case. Also dummy files would help in this process. I look at it as a copy is always going to be of less quailty than the original....kind of like when you copy VHS movies....

I have a copy of Need For Speed Underground 2 that sometimes the music skips...and sometimes it doesnt....very weird....but who cares....at least I have a playable version.....

As for the DVD gen not working....hmmm...i dunno....Mine worked fine on the first shot....Maybe there is a problem with the way your computer is set up....I would Uninstall it and try to download it again from another site.

The Rebuilt copy that doesn't work....Did you use the same media as the first time? What did you use to burn the ISO? What speed? Are you sure you included all of the star.000 files (and not the star.lst or star.iml files)?
