gotenks82,
Oops my bad... been reading too many posts elsewhere since the arrival of GT4 & got some bad info. about the dvd9 thing...:{

Anyways, i used "winhex" and found the directions to do so by Searching forums.afterdawn.com "winhex." I did nothing to the .VOL just followed the directions from the search results using winhex.

B/C it booted to the copyright screen it appears to be stuck @ the same point as those with the DVD-9 burned disks? so doesnt it need a boot fix then???

oh well @ any rate it doesnt fully work yet.....

Umm, yeah it is DVD-9 as it's 6.6GB uncompressed (I think).

Stang04, no. Read, no one has been able to. Even when downsized onto a dvd-r it doesn't work.

Hi everyone..
It does appear to be 2.31
but when you go to burn it, the size of the disk is 4.95
has anyone gotten this game to work after they burned with a DL disk?

It is a DVD9. I ripped the image with DVD Decrypter and it ended up being 4.9GB. When I loaded it with Daemon Tools it said it was only about 2.5GB. I also tried the rebuilding method to see if it would work, but the GT4.VOL file is over 2GB and standard ISO's dont support files bigger than 2GB. This is going to be tough to back up.

hi. Did anyone try to see if AnyDVD tried to fix this copy protection? It works like magic with DVDs, so wouldn't it work on games too?

AnyDVD removes the CSS encryption. PS2 games don't have CSS encryption that I know of. AnyDVD is useless when trying to back up PS2 games.

This is a good game. It is also not the only Sony game i had trouble backing up. Champions was also giving me trouble but was able to fix that with CD LOADER from swapmagicfix.com There was a difference though. Champions Return To Arms was not a DVD9.
