Ya i would say pimpofgt4 is full of shit i tried that in December and it only got to the loading screen and froze everytime. Have fun wasting those DL and regular discs though...

I opened my .NRG file containing GT4 using ISOBuster...and there is 2 files....and UFD and an ISO and they contain the exact same files...that made me curious...but then again...im a newbie and never used ISOBuster before...but also never had a problem burning ANY game...anyways...while i was searching through the files of the game i saw a .IMG file In the .NRG...it was another image file...now i dont know if thats suppose to be there...but it looked fishy...and Image file in a image file? is that how all games are?...well i popped in 4 games...2 original...and 2 copies..and they all have .IMG...so there that goes...and all of the games also have the .ISO and .UFD...so back to square one...now i was wondering...is GT4 eyetoy compatable? because there is a file that says eyetoy.irx...dummy file? maybe..so i compared GT3 and GT4...looks like GT4...and they put ALOT of effort into GT4...and im thinkin the ESPON folder for the printing has alot of dummy files....God i hope someone will find this out soon!

Yes it is Eyetoy compatible....for those people who bought that Nike pack with the GT4 shoes and Tshirt, and the epson folder is so you can print photos directly to a compatible Epson printer that stuff definately isnt dummy files. Either way those files are TINY....you need to find a way to compress GT4.VOL and GT4L1.VOL

okay...so there goes the eyetoy thing...and i know you can print things out...but maybe a dummy file is is in the epson is what im saying...there has got to be a dummy file somewhere...i dont think compressing the .vol files will do any good...

question...can't i just extract all of the EPSON files?
1. i dont have a espon printer
2. i dont want to waste ink on printing a picture of my car...what am i gunna do with it?
im wondering...will the image file stay the same and make a new image file if i take out the ESPON files...or will it overwrite my image file...because if it makes another image file ( a one without the EPSON files) i have no problem extracting those files...

there r a ton of threads out there...i've seen one and one guy claiming he fit the file on one disk and it works good...but i think he bullshiting...cause he didnt reply again...but if he does and replys...ill will post it here...and could someone answer this me for me

Quite right. The peeps who get it working seem to disappear very quickly from whence they came!! :D
The amount of interest this is getting and the amount of people who have worked on a solution and we are expected to believe someone claims?? without PPF/ripkit/working ISO.
Hmmm i'm glad i've been playing it for the past 3 months while watching this thread.
Looking at it, we are still no closer to a working backup.

Hi i been reading al lthese 19 pages took me about over 2hours lol.. its intereting. at the mo am downloading gt4 usa.hopefully it work.. cant u rebulid the image using apache and cd,gen then rebulid it.. that dvdrick u fink he will crack it? hes suppose 2b the best int he. wots going on wid him i will maiil him and ask him..lol..e used the cd loader? or new swap magic 3.3? i bet u if this download wont work and freezes i will patch it and show psownz i can do it then i will work 4them dvdrick can fuck off lol. jokes.. na but some1 has gotta crack it its been nearly 3fcking months takes the piss. and 4u ppl who keep coming on here saying uve done it then fck off then never reply 2ne1s msg on how u patch it then u lie.. keep on sucking some cheese. cos thats all ur chatting. :D

Hi,
I have the PAL version of gt4 and I'm waiting for a solution to backup it on a dvd dl media.
But my ps2 is modded with messiah2 wich (i think) doesn't read DVD-9 media.
Is there a modchip for ps2 v7 that read backup game on dvd-r (dl) or dvd+r (dl)?
It's said that matrix infinity does it.....is there someone who tried and confirm that?

hi all, sorry dont have the game yet but is there a dummy.bin file on the disk? if there is you could try making your own dummy and then rebuild the dl iso with CD DVD-ROM Generator 1.50 it suports dl and it mite be worth a look.
Sorry if this dont help it was just a thought :-)

hiya u mite be able 2!! were did u get ur pal version of gt4?? i got usa version of gt4 its a dvd 5. do u wanna swap? u got msn? if u knew wot u was doing then maybe u cud some how clone the dummy file? but i aint seen no1 crack it yet apart from the copy i got which seems 2be cracked as its a dvd 5..

Also, if you tell IsoBuster to "Find missing UDF Files Folders" it does find something. This is off of a NTSC dvd.

Until there is a PROPER scene release, those interested can now view the cars and the intro to Gran Turismo 4 with this nice GT4 VOL Extractor utility by Darthi8nt (with help from Sonix). The utility will extract movies in PSS MPEG file format, and PSS Player (available in our Site Utilities section can be used to view them.
Someones getting closer at least!! :) Hope they (or anyone for that matter) can be the first to come up with a solution.
