I just started playing Halo 2 on xbox live two days ago. (Yes I know - what a loser). I was a little busy finishing my college education. Anyway - now that school is over - I can finally get back to important things like videogames.
I foolishly thought being a skilled player in the story game of Halo 2 would somehow make me a formidable force in the multiplayer environment. I guess I was really wrong. But I am improving. My biggest problem in the multiplayer mode when doing matchmaking quickmatches is the attitudes of the teams I get assigned to. Despite frustration with being assigned to a newer player - it does the team no good to insult the inexperienced player(s) and tell them that they suck, etc. A team is just that - a team....and we are only as good as our weakest player. Take the time to offer some helpful advice to those players. The result could be a more capable teammate and a more fluid team dynamic. I'm sure we have all noticed that when a team in Halo 2 has good communication and strays from negative comments direted at the team players, the team's effectiveness vastly improves. Don't get me wrong - I use profanity all day long towards my opponents - but I simply do not see the point in tearing down your teammates.
I have a few questions - first - I constantly find myself overpowered in a head to head combat or shootout....what is the best way to quickly kill an opponent? On Coagulation I REALLY suck.....what is the best strategy in this level? What would you recommend I do when I start that level? Any other suggestions?
*Also - I am interested in making a team of good communicators wishing to dominate Halo 2 multiplayer in the near future. I am a quick learner and good listener. In two days I've gone from a 1 to a 13....but I have no idea what that means...so feel free to make fun of me on that one. I'm more of a calculated player, looking for the best strategy to accomplish the goal. You'll notice if you play with or against me that I generally shoot the least amount of shots, but I get most of my kills from beat downs. But I still have that tendency to get a bit frantic when in close head to head combat...I'm hoping to overcome that very soon. :)
Let me know if you want to create a multiplayer team. Thanks everyone. I realize I didn't insult anyone as is the custom in these forums....I suppose that is due to my age and the fact that insults don't really do anything for me. While you may be insulting each other for every idiosyncrasy, I'll be building my game experience. Thanks again.

I dont know if you guys know this because I havent read the lasted posts but Ive check out the news of the release date for halo 3 and it turns out that Halo 3 is due to come out in the 2nd quarter of 2006. If you dont believe me check it out at gamespot.com

Halo 3 coming out in spring 2006 in thge second wave of xbox 360 games. It says so right in Time magazine.

It seems like a lot of people are considering Halo 3 the last part of a trilogy. I may very well be wrong, but I think it would be next to impossible to rap up the Halo story in one more game and here's why:
1)There are still six (correct me if I'm wrong) rings left
2)Xbox has almost no other big games to sustain itself on
Also, the consensus seems to be that Halo 3 will be a war for control of earth which I doubt. I would imagine that a game named Halo would have a substantial part of said game occur on a Halo.
So if anyone has any insight or any updates on the storyline, series, etc. please let me know.

Well if halo 3 doesnt finish the Halo seris then im gonna be very frustrated. Its not like I dont want to play more Halo games but i would hate it if were left with another cliffhanger and then have to wait two more years to see the end of the story. It would be obvious that Bungie was just in it for the money. You say that halo is the only big game to sustain xbox, well if you go back to my Halo beginning Idea you can extend the life of the seris without dragging the story on until all seven of the halo rings are detroyed.

They could make most of halo 3 on earth and just give it a name like "Halo 3, The Fight For Earth." instead of it all being on another halo, like when you think about it, unless there is something really inmportant on it, why go to another halo ring?

I definately think that the halo series should end with the third game come on now lets look at the facts such as the covenant who are already begining to fall apart. Plus why the hell is bungie going to extend the series just because there are six halos (well actually 7 if you count the one that was destroyed in the first halo) just because theres still alot of halos left doesnt mean master chief has to go to all of them in order to finish the series. And why go to other halos when the arc has the power of shutting them down. Plus why would Master Chief at the end of Halo 2 say his finishing the fight if the series is going to still be running (which hopefully will not cause then Ill lose interest). But the idea of halo spin offs does sound nice.

I'd probably get a little more creative with the destruction of my xbox. First I'd probably rip out the wires on the back, then i'd throw some gas on it and light it on fire. After that i would take it for a ride in my truck and throught it out at 60 MPH. And then I'd pick up the small shattered pieces off the road and then I'd throw it off a cliff.

So u people are saying that if Halo 3 doesnt complete the series, ur gonna throw ur hard payed for 300+ dollars xbox 360 out the window? Well u go ahead and do that, I think I would just stop playing Halo and move onto another game.

we all know as long as the series is a cash cow for M$ and Bungie, it will never stop. And once the series starts to slow, they will "say" there will be a final installment, then you will see tons of spin-offs. There is too much money to lose to stop the series

and you know they have ps2's lmao. they are just mad cuz they have to put up with Killzone. Then you get the retards that say Killzone is better, or that Halo and Halo 2 are too short. But they dont know about all of the hidden easter eggs and stuff. halo 2 can take as long as you want it to, you can buzz through it, or you can take in the great graphics and have fun with it. I think halo 3 will be even better, longer, and just plain out funner.
Did you hear? The Red Cross changed the choke signal to the Yankees logo.
