Halo 3 parrying PlayStation 3 launch

Contributed by: DEVIL Time quotes Bill Gates saying that Sony's next-gen console will "walk into" the Xbox 360 follow-up to the best-selling sci-fi shooter.
For months, the Web was rife with rumors that Microsoft would ship the sequel to Halo 2 for the Xbox 360 simultaneously with the launch of the PlayStation 3. Now, that has been confirmed--by none other than Bill Gates himself.
In next week's issue of Time Magazine--which features Gates holding the Xbox 360 on the cover--Gates mentioned plans for the release of the much-anticipated follow-up to the best-selling console shooter. In a parenthetical sidebar in the article, Time says the following:
"Note to the hard-core faithful: the next version of Halo will not, repeat not, be ready in time for the launch of Xbox 360. It will be part of the all-important second wave next spring. 'It's perfect,' Gates says, radiant with bloodlust. 'The day Sony launches [the new PlayStation], and they walk right into Halo 3.'"
While Microsoft reps were not available for comment as of press time, Gates' comments appear to confirm the theory that Microsoft will release Halo 3 either simultaneously or near the release of Sony's next-gen console. It also marks further official confirmation that a third Halo is indeed in the works and will be released for the Xbox 360.
Although such statements might be interpreted as grandstanding, such a maneuver definitely would have an impact. Halo 2 sold more than 6.5 million copies to date and is credited with doubling the subscriber base of Xbox Live from around 750,000 to more than 1.5 million. It is also credited by industry-watchers as one of the main reasons for boosting sales of the original Xbox last holiday season.

hey my friend was on a forum for that new game that just came out that is online only and in 24 hours they had over 500 pages. don't belive me i saw it. it was messed up. that many posts in 24 hours is Nucking Futs

Halo 3 comes out in a year or so, it's gonna be hard considering it's only been, um... like...*grabs his calculator* Six and a half months scince Halo 2 came out. sry I suck at math.

i think we will with allt the stuff they might release on 360 and when to new maps come out on june 28 we will probably talk about those a lot. but who knows.

What new abilities do you guys want to see in Halo 3? I'm thinking gettting prone(laying down on the ground for hiding and sniping) Also throwing random objects at enemies.

going prone would be great, i would like to climb up walls because crouch jumping can be a pain somtimes and maybe more destructible terrain

We really have to find more things to talk about because it kind of sounds like we're reapeting our selves. Any way how do you guys think gravemind might die will it be by the hands of Master Chief or the Arbitor. And where do you guys think gravemind might take the covenant holly city? will it be to another halo or will he navigate it towards the arc which is most likely on Earth? And what new weaponds would you like to see in Halo 3(I would definately like a flame thrower). If Halo 3 does mark the end in the Halo series(I hope it does) do you think that at the end of the game Master Chief should reveal his face?
(I hope some of this helps to spark up a conversation)

Well there was a flamethrower on Halo pc, also there was a fuel rod gun and a rocket launcher jeep. (in multiplayer) I think it would be a good Idea for bungie to show the Cheif's face, I've been wondering what he looks like.

hey guys i think that in halo 3 they should make it so you have to drop your waepon wen ur duel weilding and that dont need to drop it wen u do a melee attack cause thats just stupid they should make it so u do like a criss-cross sweeping move with both guns aimed at there head wat do ya reckon

Well i just have to say both of the halo games.........fucken ruled i loved them and the raphics for halo 2 were umbelievable and the atmosphere of the game was great, i just really liked the whole experiance bungy gave me.

Hey you guys I just checked gamespot and it turns out that the Halo 2 expasion map pack wont come out until july 5th well that is if it doesnt get pushed back. I dont know if this is old/new info but Im just desparate.
