Sublique, there was talk of an artifact in the first book. I currentlydo not have the book but I can tell u what i remember.
The covenant were glassing a plannent named cote d' Azur. They didnot glass one of the cities. There was somesortof artifact that the covenant wanted. I believe it had some sort of star chart on it. This is the partwhere John first meets the covenant engineer and the hunter pair. Hope this helps

They just released a statement saying that, the maps can only be used on one xbox. So bittorrent is out of the question. Even people with multiple xbox's have to buy more than one copy. Therefore putting them on a memory card wont work. I suggest you just wait until the end of June when they are going to be released on a CD.

Yeah, what DID happen to InsideBun?
Anyhoo, I actually don't think that putting the Arbiter in the game was such a bad idea. For a few reasons,
1.It sure lengthen the story out!
2.It shows the story from two perspectives.
Hey doesnt it seem wierd that we keep talking about a video game? I know it has an amazing storyline but...nvm its fun to talk about it. Sometimes it seems pointless though.

@ haloxbox, it does seem kinda weird that all these ppl here are so amazed with this game that they take their time just to share their opinions. i bet bungie didnt think that their game would turn into something as big as this.
about the arbiter. without him the stroyline for halo2 would be too short and they would have had to drag it out. i guess playing as him is kinda cool but they should stop there and in halo 3 make it only the mc or mc and arbiter. no more playable characters.

Personally I think that the Arbiter was a bad idea. I think Bungie changed the feeling of Halo, by introducing the Arbiter. In Halo CE you were in charge of a super soldier and this meant that you felt powerful while playing the game. Now that we have two powerful playable characters there is a conflict in which character you are supposed to support. Now the same feeling of support is not felt as we are split between two characters. Since Halo 2 has very linear, (meaning that you are guided through the game and have a set role) this conflicts with the two main characters. Yes the Arbiter add depth into the Covenants history as a race, and gives an insight into what they think about the Halo?s, but we already knew that from Halo CE. I think that without the Arbiter the levels of Halo 2 would have been more consistent, but instead we are taken back and forth to different places, which often leave the gamer confused. Halo 2 could have been a bigger success if there were more Master Chief levels, but instead of getting 15 levels we got about 7, which is a dramatic cut off Halo CE.

Playing the Arbiter was good in my point, but the jumping back and forth sucked. I hope for halo 2 u can choose to play the story of master chief alone. and then when u beat that u can choose to be the arbiter for a completlydifferent story.

I think that the arbitor should just go away in Halo 3. they should just show him falling off a cliff or something.

Well in Halo 2 the playing the Arbiter wasnt that bad, but it was a little confusing storyline, i would have liked to play the whole game as the Chief...I heard that for Halo 3 possibly you will be playing as Master Chief, The Arbiter, Hunters, Cortana, and Brutes so brace yourself!

Well I'm sorry that is most likely to be false, as Bungie would never make the mistake of including that many playable characters its suicide. The most that you will ever play as is three but even that is pushing it. To include Master Chief, The Arbiter, Hunters and Cortana you would be looking at a very confusing game. Also how the hell would you play as Cortana.

yes playing as cortona is a very bad idea and the arbiter sucks he doesn't have anything good about him he has got the same sheild as master cheif and a cloak that sucks. although it did come in handy. but he still sucks. it would have been way better if master cheif killed tarturas and the arbiter went to save earth but master cheif got there by using halos teleportion device like in halo 1 but im not sure if you could go that far and if it only works on halo but remember the moniter was going all over with cheif till he turned bad.

I don't think a lot of you guys (or girls) understand the cell processor. I recommend www.arstechnica.com. They always have great articles/papers on stuff like this though it might get a bit technical for some. I also don't think you should underestimate IBM when it comes to the powerpc. I'm not talking about the stripped down one that Apple had rushed and turned into their G5 chip. I mean the one closer to the Power4 chip and more importantly the Power5 (ooohhhh the Power5:). Both chips will be similar as in Cell has a powerpc core and anywhere from 2 to 7 specified "assistants" cpu's and the Xbox2 supposedly has a few multi core powerpc chips that will probably be as many as the PS3 as in they will probably have the same amount of cpu's/cores.
What i really want from Halo 3 is Multi Campaign (4-16) on Lan or LIVE and LIVE multiplayer from 32-50+. The rest i trust Bungie and MS. I look forward to the XBOX 2 and the PS3. The Nintendo Revolution (as it is rumored to be called) will be a very hard sell to me.

BTW, i thought playing the Arbiter was one of the saving graces of the campaign. When it happened i yelled out "this is the f*&^$#& coolest game ever!" I don't think they can equal that surprise now that they've done it. If you get to play as a Brute it wouldn't surprise me in the 3rd Halo though it would still be cool.

I think Halo 2 would have been much better without the arbitor, i thought that Halo 2 was gonna be like the best game ever until i got to the arbitor levels, i just wasnt motivated to fight for some dumb aleins. i even stopped playing for a week because i was so disgusted by it. I think the halo seris should be about the mc and only the mc.
Can anyone please tell me why i cant download the latest episode of Red vs. Blue. Is it still not availible or something.

Unfortunately as technology gets better, and the capabilities for larger, longer level games maybe there. There is still the problem of time constraints. Games (especially Halo) aren?t just made in a few months. If we were to see a multi-campaign game i would be very surprised.
As for the Xbox 2's multi-core processor, it will have 3 3.5ghz core CPU's, one CPU will be a host and the other two geometry CPU. These together will combine with a single GPU core.
The patent for this was released sometime ago. If you really want to know about this stuff, go through all 94 pages of it here http://appft1.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&p=1&u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsearch-bool.html&r=1&f=G&l=50&co1=AND&d=PG01&s1=GPU&s2=console&OS=GPU+AND+console .
About Red V Blue, when ever I go to download episodes off there, there always seems to be problems with bandwidth, I just try later and it usually works for me.
Oh and Burnzilla don?t jump to conclusions about people you haven?t even met.
